This Denny's is a place I have been to very often. It is open 24 hours, serves alcohol and I've almost never been disappointed there. Please keep in mind this review is very thorough and as such, I have taken consideration a large number of visits to this location. The service is almost always friendly, efficient and professional. On my most recent visit, a very nice gentleman was the waiter and was very pleasant and helpful to deal with. I followed his recommendation for dinner and was extremely impressed. The waiter showed his knowledge of menu item, this is always a good thing to look for at any restaurant. The food is mostly always the same quality as any diner, with rare occasional slip ups in my experience. In the most recent visit, I had a burger which was perhaps one of the best I have had to date (you know the food is good when I kept quiet and ate, instead of talking with the other people at my table). The ambiance is friendly and the prices are not excessive. Some items are pricey but for the most part there is something for every budget. I will definitely continue return to this restaurant as it is an excellent place for dates, friendly gatherings and many more occasions. read more

We waited for 10 minutes to be seated, the restaurant was less than 15% cap. They took our drink order for three and then brought bac one drink. Then they brought the other 2 after we refreshed their memory and got one wrong. The food took forever and was terrible, and expensive. I would have got MUCH better food and service at McDonalds at half the price. We used to look forward to eating there, but we won't eat their again. read more

i came here at 1 am on a saturday night (i was back to my hotel from a night out dancing. i walked by this denny's and flipped a coin. heads- i go in. tails- i keep walking. i flipped heads) i ordered fries and gravy. they gave me the perfect gravy to fry ratio down to the drop! impressive. the waitress was very kind. the music was AMAZING!!! walked in to them playing my boy frank ocean. as i write this review we're listening to lana del rae. i cannot understand how denny's makes money keeping their businesses open at night since i am the only person here (other than my again-LOVELY waitress and the cooks) but i am glad they hosted me today. i would come back to cranbrook just for this. read more

The staff I had interactions with at the Denny's in Cranbrook were amazing. However, I placed my order by telephone and requested a pick up time of an hour. I asked for whatever breakfast had the most vegetables. When I picked my food up it was extremely cold and had little vegetables. I called back they were validating and stated that they would give me 50% of my next order. Which does not seem to be helpful as after this experience I will probably not go back and gave my meal to my dog and still have to figure out what to eat since I do not have a kitchen. It was a bit saddening as I do not eat out often and feel like I wasted $20. read more

I should have looked at reviews prior to ordering room service from the Sandman attached. Nothing to do with hotel at all. Checked in at 9ish, after working 12 hrs, missing lunch, I was famished and a good Lasagna is always good comfort food, or so I thot. Figured I'd get a nice fresh baked dish but got a small square of pre-cooked "food" in a lasagna dish. Plus the added 20% for delivery plus tip came to $24. So disappointed I called back and even manager confirmed this. She offered a 2nd one which I accepted as I was so hungry. New one came and now it was same thing with now extra sauce and cheese added. A sad attempt as it was just microwaved I'm sure. Noodles now hard. I would have been better off going to BK across the street. 2 thumbs down and add fart noise by mouth. Waited 15 min to be seated in an almost empty venue. Waited 10 more for Coffee. Waited 15 more to order and 20 more minutes for wrong cold food to arrive. We needed to convince the servers that they had gotten it wrong and offered to get us "new eggs". We were left to gaze upon both sets of "old eggs" accompanied by stale cold toast and puny miserable "sausages. A dying brand, run by folks who hate food and their jobs and are defensive if not confrontational to their clientele. After I suggested that perhaps she should waive the bill, the manager listed reasons as to why there had been so many missteps, including a suggestion that maybe we were confused about our order, finally relented. Avoid like the plague! I would never normally review a chain like Denny's but, I had such a poor experience here it was justified to ward off others. I ordered an avocado breakfast wrap. The avocados weren't any where near ripe so they were hard and bitter. My friend ordered a ham and cheese omelet. Gross, they used American cheese (cheese slices) in the omelet. Not acceptable to serve a cheese slice on an omelet. The waitress was as rude as they come. She asked us if we needed anything else as she had the bill in her hand. Seriously, your so eager to push us out that you have our bill ready to go whether or not we are. Terrible experience. read more

Food was good but the service sucked....our work crew has 10 guys and when we get to a restaurant we are very hungry so waiting 20 minutes to get our order taken and then another 20+ minutes to get the food is less than desirable...The waitress forgot to put in my order so I was the first to order last to eat and to cap it off paying our bills was another 20 minutes after all the confusion was figured out. Lots of other places to eat close by I don't recommend taking larger groups to this Denny's Gave this place a second chance and once again total failure, it took 30 minutes for my order of white toast again was the first to order the last to eat avoid if your in a hurry read more

Wow- great service: Breakfast seating for 3 person's The place was so busy, long line up but they found a sitting for the 3 of us in less then 10 mins. We got served our drinks, laid down the menues, gave the kid some crayons, coloring book ; Kis was happy drawing on everything but the book, and us just happy to get that first hot cup of java of the day... Coming in from the pouring rain. (now why is it??? We get the sunshine all days of the weeks BUT OH NO it's our start off on holidays and you guessed it... WE GOT RAINED ON). We got everything just as ordered, quickly, and way too much to finish. You cant expect much from any dennys but this dennys is horrible if it wasnt for the amazing server I had I would have got up and walked out, my potatoes were cold my steak was very under cooked medium rare came out rare almost blue rare with absolutely no spice or flavor to it, my bread was rock hard and my salad was brown. As a former chef I am extremely dissapointed in the qaulity of the food and absolutely will not be returning to this restaurant.To the owners of this place be thankful you have servers that help keep it pleasant cause if not for the sweetheart serving me you would have had an unpaid meal sitting at at the table monday night read more

The food I find is usually better at night, which I find odd as you'd think that the food would be better in the day hours. Went for breakfast at 7 a.m. - 3 tables taken in restaurant. We had a $10.00 loyalty coupon. Bacon must have been cooked around 2 a.m. to be so dried out, unchewable and tasteless. I have been to Denny's EVERYWHERE and I mean EVERYWHERE and always enjoy it. This was a whole different story. I will never be back, it was AWFUL. and when I say awful I don't mean just like bad, like it was the worst experience at a restaurant I've EVER had. It took a WHOPPING 30 MINUTES for our waitress to come and take our order. If it's going to take you that long, at least be friendly. Our waitress was not terrible, she did say sorry for our wait but she seemed to be annoyed with our requests. We were in a hurry so ordered our drinks and meals at the same time and then around 20 minutes later we still don't have our drinks. It took 45 minutes for our food to come. Ok, this might've been understandable if the resteraunt was super busy, but there was probably 5 other tables there. My food was not good, it was cold and very flavourless. How can it be cold if it took that long!?!? I've always been a lover of Denny's! It's USUALLY quick, relaxing and has pleasant staff. But today I was incredibly disappointed with my whole experience. Once being sat for what was intended to be a quick lunch, it took over 30 minutes just to be asked for our drink orders. Once the waitress did come we ordered our food at the same. I wouldn't expect much from a Denny's but this place is something else. Service is usually pretty poor except for a couple of long-time waitresses who are always fantastic. Have had to ask for refills upwards ten times and then never received them. One time they had a busboy come through to vacuum the aisle and under the booths, including our booth while we were eating; not exactly a relaxiing dining experience. My son is on the spectrum and he loves the milkshakes here so we do seem to come back at his requests, but more than half the time we're told that they can't do milkshakes because their Icecream wasn't ordered in. Our last straw with this place was when the fries came out with the same texture as the time my kid dropped a handful of fries in the back of the car and it took me three weeks to notice them under the seat- completely rock hard. Obviously the food is going to be Denny's classic fare. But hey, they do it well. I left full and satisfied, and everything tasted great to me. You don't necessarily want to go there on a Friday or Saturday late at night, as they often have packs of drunk/drugged teenagers coming in fresh from the bar (well, nowhere else in town is open, so...) and it can be a little off-putting. Those waitresses/waiters have tough jobs dealing with all that, and some of them have a real attitude but I don't really blame them when I look at the crap they have to deal with.
