The service here is horrible depending on which day you order. Friday I ordered a breakfast on line. When I arrived the server/cook had me wait 10 minutes while she prepared someone else's food while mine sat in a bag, Monday I went to pick up my order and there was a sign on the door saying they would not open until 6 AM. The service is AWFUL! I've waited over an hour for my food multiple times. I've walked out after sitting 20 minutes without someone coming to take my order - including today! to go orders and phone calls should not take precedence over people who dine in. I also wonder if the servers are also cooks as several servers have told me they didn't get time to make soup or they are about to cook somethung I've ordered. Other times they say there's not not 1 chef and the front half of the restaurant is full. They are hugely understafffed. so sad. Been here several times. Service is always good and friendly. Last Saturday morning at 8:30 the two rooms were filling up. One room had a group of 10 and other customers. Only two waitresses were on duty, so they were way short of help. At 9 a.m. three more employees walked in. Thank goodness. The waitresses did tell us they'd get to everyone. They kept the cups filled. Once the orders were given the meals did come out quickly. I noticed that Denny's does take-out breakfast. One customer picking up said that the orange juice cup was not a large. (I thought it was plenty big. Juice isn't soda pop.) The cashier lady said that juice comes in one size. Well, that wasn't explained on the phone, the lady said. (Would it had made a difference since she didn't like the large size? She could purchased a second or buy a carton at the store.) Anyway.... My husband and I have been going to this location for years until a several months back. We tried to give it another shot and wanted to acknowledge Daryl - he was attentive and made sure he took care of every customer. If I could put zero stars I would. My friends and I went there last night for some late night food. The server was strung out on something and when we asked if they were still open because no one came to greet us she began yelling saying she wasn't going to deal with our type and that we had to wait for next shift to come to be served. I just moved to the neighborhood and was pretty excited to have a Denny's close by. I've now been here twice and I'm sad to report there won't be a third stop. The first time I came in, they were out of sausage and bacon. I kinda chuckled and asked my server how that happened. She told me it was a regular occurrence here to run out of things. Flash forward a couple weeks and we come in for my birthday breakfast on Christmas day. I was shocked how unprepared they were. They were out of ketchup, tea, and we had to share syrup with the table behind us. There's currently 15 people waiting to get seats. Hopefully some of them will be able to get refills on their coffee. I wasn't. So we got our food and the scrambled eggs were barely cooked long enough to not be liquid, the hashbrowns were cold and crunchy, and there was no butter on the toasts. Will not go to this location again. We were patient - they were short-handed. If you're in a hurry, Don't go ! Worse breakfast I ever had--lukewarm at best--coffee was the hottest part of the meal. Would have sent it back but didn't feel like waiting another half hour for the food. Brought it home and recooked it - enjoyed it better than there. I hope the other patrons got better service and food than we did. Tip: if you're that short - handed, let your patrons know, or limit patrons, or close. Food was mediocre at best. We had three orders of tenders, ALL of which were hard, the onion rings that came with the tenders were cooked in old grease. We also ordered a chicken sandwich that was also hard. When these things were brought to the manager's attention he acted as if he had an attitude towards off and seemed reluctant to take the items off our bill. The first time only $15 was taken off of the bill which did not equate to the amount of the items that were not eaten. The SECOND time only two out of the four items were removed from the bill and the manager walked off into another part of the restaurant and loudly stated "I'M NOT TAKING ANYTHING ELSE OFF OF THEIR BILL" The server was very friendly and did an excellent job but the manager was very rude and disrespectful. Went to Denny's this afternoon in Highland Heights just because the Willoughby Hills one opened at three today, already disappointed. we called prior to heading there and asked if they had potato soup, which they said yes. Once we arrive to the restaurant and order our potato soup, the server says OK, 10 minutes later after we placed our order, I hear the kitchen talking about how they can't give us our potato soup. Server comes over to us and says there can't be any potato soup, because the kitchen had a mixup, and only produced vegetable soup. The server sees our frustration, and then all of a sudden potato soup becomes available. The general manager came over and was very kind, but our server was avoiding us the whole time. The table across from us got their food and their check before us, when we had placed everything before them,. We had an appetizer which was OK. My friend asked for a Dr Pepper with no ice and received ice. The first time. The second time for her refill she had asked for no ice again and of course there's more ice in the drink. The server wouldn't even come back to our table. She would stand three tables behind ours and not make eye Contact. I understand the humiliation coming from her. With my potato soup I asked for sour cream loaded potato needs sour cream, never got it. This is the first time I have never NOT tipped in my life that shows my frustration, two out of 10 would not recommend only a two out of 10 for the general manager zero out of 10 for server.
