Soups aren't what they used to be, food comes out burnt or bland, and the atmosphere of the restaurant is out of touch with its audience. Went here for drinks with my friends and the drinks were not good. The dirty martini tasted like salty vodka(no olives), the espresso martini was basically milk there was no actual espresso. We went there on Mother's Day. They had some good specials. They even gave moms a free mimosa! We had gotten wings and they were great quality. My son is a picky eater so they put the sauce on the side and let us choose 2 different flavors at no extra expense. I had the chicken Alfredo and it was really good. The perfect portion as I did not have any leftovers (or maybe I was just really hungry that day ). The waitress and waiter were both very nice and both even had little conversations with my two kids to be sure they were taken care of and felt important. This is an update to a previous review. They've expanded their menu and some of our old favorites are back. It's not the 5 or 6 page menu that it once was, but there is plenty to choose from. I was waffling between a 3 and a 4 star review but the service here was excellent so I bumped it up. We had Mac and cheese for the toddler, Parmesan club for me, and husband had a burger (the firehouse pub I think?). Food was decent - like elevated bar food. We all loved the French fries. My club was slightly too salty from the cheese crust, but honestly I love salt so I was fine with it. Good pour on drinks and above average beer selection. Unfortunately, the food is poor; or at-least it was for our experience. The Buffalo dip had zero flavor with huge chunks of chicken that could not be eaten with the chips provided. Asked the waitress if we had the wrong dip, unfortunately not. We didn't eat half of it. I got the tall boy burger and was really disappointed. My thoughts were it was pre-cooked and warmed via a steamer? Both patties were almost tan color and almost didn't look real. Bottom bun was completely wet and the lettuce was soggy. No flavor and didn't eat most of it. Daughters pizza also seemed precooked with some fresh cheese for warm up. She didn't even want to take the rest home. Others in our party enjoyed the fried shrimp. Other burger was ok. BLT was ok. Again, great place to be with friends and enjoy some cocktails. Had a lunch meeting here. 2 big bar areas & outdoor seating so you can seat yourself. 2 bar servers were very friendly & they both kinda took care of us. Lotsa TVs around. Menu was a little on smaller side as I heard they cut it down. I ordered soup & salad and got the chili which was tasty & not spicy. The salad was just a side salad which needed some cucumbers. Not really a deal at the price if u compare separately u save a nickel maybe. They didn't have honey mustard dressing so I got the creamy French. That was real good surprisingly. Came to the firehouse with a large group of friends. It was a challenge to find parking, but once inside, found our group. They had a nice area of tables set up for our reservation. Our server Maura did a great job of keeping the cocktails flowing and our food all arrived within minutes. A great achievement for 17 people, The potato pancake burger was very tasty. I also enjoyed the cole slaw. It was just the right amount of creamy. Around me, the chicken noodle soup was popular, the plank salmon and another burger. The service was the biggest issue. Took a long time to have someone take our order. The person taking drinks order was nice but the person taking the food order was not attentive and seemed as though he was not doing his typical job. Great service, some of the best lunch options in the Mayfield area, excellent patio, and a popular all you can eat fish fry Friday. Firehouse is another one of my go-to lunch spots. They have a diverse menu, delicious daily specials and one of the most consistent staff of servers around. My usuals are either the whiskey chicken wrap with extra crispy fries, or the soup and salad combo where i sub their chili for the soup. My friend swears by their potato pancake burger, and my other friend loves their BLT melt. The portions are always filling, especially for the price. During the Lent season, the AYCE fish fry on Friday is so good people drive from an hour away to taste, and for only $12 it is pretty unbeatable. The patio is top notch for the summer time, but the inside has plenty of spacious seating and tvs for colder days as well, even a little game room with skeeball and pool tables. read more

So.... the reviews were different than our experience. We went out and found this little cove of restaurants (there 3 restaurants that share the parking lot). It was pretty busy, but Firehouse at least has a great deal of seating. We mistakenly went in the back door that made it confusing because we weren't sure if we should just seat ourselves or hostess service (you seat yourself). We sat near the bar. There are many rooms to pick from. When we were there, there was a possibly bachelor party who were kind of loud and obnoxious, but hey it happens. We got great service. We got our typical appetizer and dinners. Th food was pretty good. I got a potato pancake burger. Honestly, I don't think it completely works because it gets soggy (and potato pancakes are best when they are crispy), but I think it would be better to have a side of potato pancakes. My husband liked his burger. It is a place I would recommend as a local standby type of restaurant. This was a nice spot to hang out at. It was a random selection after a long Friday. The waitstaff was very receptive and timely the salad was amazing and very fresh. There was also patrons that were displaying there enjoyment of the establishment. I really enjoy the way the pub has a solution to over crowding by offering a patio to continue your socializing. Saturday night, obviously a busy night for any bar, especially a great neighborhood bar like this, and they still provided an amazing experience. Anytime I have previously been here, I have just grabbed a drink and played pool or skeeball, this time we broke our usual routine, we were meeting friends for dinner. I don't know we never thought to eat here, maybe because we usually stop in much later, I don't know. But our friends who used to live in the area and moved downtown were craving it so we were excited to meet up. When we got to the bar a bartender asked if we needed a table, my bf, not being used to eating there said no and continued to check out the drafts. I reminded him we were meeting people and we needed a table, luckily only a couple moments passed before the bartender noticed we werent ready to order and he apologized and explained we would need a table, she was sooooo nice about it, didn't show any frustration with us. She quickly bussed off an available booth for us. We ordered the brushetta as an appetizer and man was it good! As I make my own brushetta, I don't order it out a lot, but geez did they nail it! And the salsa ranch they serve with, AWESOME! I was stealing my bf's chips to dip in it because I couldn't get enough of it!! For entrees, I ordered the shrimp appetizer because I was pretty full on brushetta, and it was really good. If I made one critque, I want more sauce! like maybe a side of it to dip the breaded shrimp in. I'm a sauce person, so the drizzle just wasnt enough for me. But I was more than happy to dip them in the left over salsa ranch, but the boom-boom sauce was so good, I would have liked more. My bf ordered a huge burger that came with house chips, there was no way he was finishing that burger, it was gigantic. This neighborhood bar just doesn't disappoint. This place seems to be very popular in the area. I have been here twice. The first time as part of a large group and the second time a Friday afternoon for lunch. The menu has a variety of options from salads, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas and pastas. I honestly don't remember what I had the first time. Just that it wasnt bad, and decent enough experience to return while in the area. For my most recent visit I had their steak wrap. On the menu it states you can add a chipotle spread. I thought that was an option not how it came. So when I got the wrap I wasnt expecting it when biting in to it. I would of preferred it without that but my coworker got the same and didn't seem to mind it. For my side I got the broccoli salad. I enjoyed this more then the wrap and probably better then anything I can remember eating there before. I'd say this place is average for a bar restaurant. read more

Great food with uncommonly large serving sizes, all at inexpensive prices. Liquor is priced low, good place to drink. This place is always busy even in the winter, so if you come on a Friday or Saturday around dinner time you will probably have to wait a while to get a seat. Once summer comes around though, their wonderful patio bar opens and there is more room. The patio a great place to spend a summer evening. Bartenders have all been friendly. They usually have the two games or fights playing that you might want to see. Huge, easy, safe parking lot. I keep coming back. The only reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is that sometimes the bartenders can't keep up and you have to wait longer than you prefer to order food or more drinks. Went there to eat dinner and have a few drinks. Wasn't getting out of there below $100.00. 4 dinners and drinks . We would have stayed for about an hour and another 4 coukd have had our seats . Absolutely nobody came to give us a menu, ask us if we wanted a beer , say I'll be right with you.... NOTHING! My Son went to the bar and asked for menus, he was given menus. He wasn't told anything like " someone will be right with you orrrrrrrrrr , hey, not a good night to be here. Although the place was busy and they were handing out drinks and plenty if workers, no service . After 1/2 hour we left and went to Paninis where we were served right away. NEVER going back to that place for anything. They have a party room but I Would not recommend that either. Also very dark parking lot and entrance not out up at all.
