I hope couples realize the importance of a DJ at their wedding. They act as the master of ceremonies - introducing you as a married couple for the first time, announcing the first dance, announcing the cake cutting - whatever it might be. The music they choose sets the tone for the event. The right person can get the party started and maintain the vibe you want all night. This is what Chad did for us. He interacted with the crowd just enough to engage them but not be intrusive, his selection of music combined with my guidance was PERFECT, and he even tracked me down during the reception to double check if someone's request to play Taylor Swift was OK because I had specified I didn't want country music. He felt out the crowd, always anticipating what song to play next, and the dance floor was full the entire night. On the planning end, Sue and Brian were super easy to work with. I had two planning calls plus she had me fill out a very detailed form to provide them with our timeline and music preferences. Their pricing for uplighting is competitive, and although I didn't utilize their other services they have a large inventory of lights, photo booths, etc. I know people who have used this company and hired other DJs with success, but if you are able to snag Chad, he is amazing and I highly recommend him!!! read more

My husband and I are so incredibly happy that we hired Denon & Doyle for the entertainment at our wedding reception. Patrick is truly the best MC I have ever seen. He is charismatic, professional and possesses a special talent for working a room. Basically, he is absolutely fantastic at his job. We rented out three adjacent spaces for our reception, and Patrick seamlessly transitioned all of our guests from the cocktail hour space, to the ballroom for dinner and then into the "club" for dancing. I was singing a song later in the evening that he helped me fine tune and work out all of the details for a week prior, so I felt like I was in completely good hands when the time came for me to sing. D&D is an awesome and fun company! We are so glad that we chose to book their walk-up photobooth for our wedding. At the time, it was a new machine, but we knew we needed a booth that can take pictures of a bunch of people at time. Our guests had so much fun using it and this includes guests of all ages! It was so simple to use that a bunch of the little kids used it too! Even my 4-year old nephew had pics taken! We loved the ease of the booth since guests just had to select a color, pose then wait 5 seconds for it to print. We used the pictures for the guestbook and loved viewing the pages the day after the wedding. So many people have asked for their information for their events too. We hired Denon and Doyle for our wedding at Cornerstone Gardens on 4/28/12. We can't say enough about Richard Baines. We heard him DJ at a friend's wedding last year and went up to him to ask where he worked. Not only does he keep the crowd dancing, but he is incredibly professional and helpful. He brought my husband and I glasses of champagne while we were getting pics taken after the ceremony to make sure we got something to drink. He even held the train of my dress up at times while I walked! We were really happy with him during our wedding. My husband and I are so happy we relied on Yelp to choose our wedding DJ. Denon & Doyle had excellent reviews (in addition to being a recommended vendor from our wedding reception venue). We contacted Denon & Doyle and gave the specifics as to what we wanted from our wedding DJ. They recommended Mark Haggerty, and he ended up being the perfect choice. We didn't get to meet him in person before the wedding reception (that was due to the schedules of my then fiancee and me), so we were taking a risk. I did get to speak with him the week before and provided him with a list of "must plays," "preferred plays," and "don't plays." Mark was terrific. He got everyone dancing. He played the right mix of music and was fun and professional without being cheesy. (Those were our main requirements - a DJ who got everyone to dance, but wasn't cheesy!) He managed to incorporate our mixed music tastes -- my husband being a rock music fan while my friends and I liking 80s, as well as R&B and Pop. There were several weddings between our friends and us this summer, but they pretty much unanimously say that our reception was the best, and they keep on referring to everyone dancing. Another obstacle for Mark was the timing of our wedding reception and the heat. It started at 5 p.m. in July in Walnut Creek, and it was quite hot. Initially, it seemed like no one would go on the dance floor because of the daylight and the heat, but before we knew it, pretty much everyone was on the dance floor, from the groom's grandma, the bride's mom, to all of our good friends, all dancing together and having a great time. read more

After my daughter and future son-in-law came back from a Denon & Doyle open house, they were so excited about the DJ they selected for their May wedding. When they told me who it was my heart sunk because he was the only DJ on their site that I remembered reading a bad Yelp review for. Well, that reviewer did not have the Tyrone we had at this wonderful May wedding. He was there on time, the sound system was great, and was dressed professionally. He got the crowd dancing, kept the timeline moving and provided just the right music for the occasion. He obviously loves his work and is good at it. Just what you hope to get when you hire a DJ!
