This review is way overdue but I need to express his attention to detail, vibe and music that made my party. Recommended by a friend who worked with DJ Big CALI for her wedding, she told me about her experience and how she was overly impressed. I planned a 30th birthday party disco " Saturday Night Fever" theme and worked with James a month or so leading up to my party date. He makes it so easy to upload song choices by using an app called Vibo which allows you to list specific songs for certain times in your event. He suggested to add uplighting to my event which made my vision for a disco party! Closer to my event we exchanged emails, texts etc to communicate day of details getting ready for my party. Event day was finally here and he set up hours before with the help of his ahmazing talented fiancé Destinee, who assist with song requests and any details you may need to get to James. They both came dressed in theme which I appreciated very much! Party started at 7pm and the party didn't stop! Song after song my guests and I were dancing all through the night and couldn't stop grooving. He covered 70's/80's and 90's hits to early 2000's and current hits. You know it's a good time when your DJ is having a good time. Everyone raves about the music!!! While corporate events are a little bit difficult to get people to dance he always brings the fun vibes and great ambiance. I seriously cannot say enough good things about James and his wife and they were one of the biggest reasons we had the night of our lives. One of the most important things to me when planning our wedding was finding a fantastic DJ because I knew it would make a big difference in the vibe of the night. So when trying to find someone, I was really feeling the pressure. I am very much someone who goes with my gut, and from my first conversation with James over the phone I knew that he was the right guy. And boy did he deliver!! From the beginning he was super responsive via email and the music app he used made it super easy to upload songs, playlists, timing, etc. On the day of, he was at the venue early and there were zero issues with set-up/venue coordination. I also have to emphasize that the day of our wedding was New Years Eve 2022, where an atmospheric river hit the Bay Area and there was extreme flooding everywhere (including at our venue). This made for an eventful day, however James WAS NOT PHASED. He wasn't delayed even a little bit, despite closed and flooded roads. This alone speaks for itself. I was almost in tears when I walked in an hour before our event was scheduled to start and I saw James and his wife there, all ready to go, without a worry in the world. When cole and I started planning wedding, we decided Music and pictures were the most important things. @maddisonrosephoto was our first vendor we booked and @djbigcali was our last. My nightmare was having a middle aged stuffy man dj our wedding and play we are family and the cha cha slide (cringe). Fast forward months into planning, our photographer gave us some recommendations for djs. We initially reached out to one who wasn't available, but hooked us up with someone who was. Fast forward a week or two prior to the wedding and our beloved dj had a family emergency and wasn't able to come to our wedding but assured us he would find us someone comparable or better.
