First of all this place was the worse dentist I have ever been in my entire life. When my baby sister was getting checked up she was scared because this was the first time we have been in this dentist. My big sister told the doctor to be patient because she is only 6 and the doctor replied with"who be patient" my sister said you need to be patient and she said no and she said my baby sister needs to stop moving but again she is only 6. She started crying and after the checkup was done for her it was my turn to get checked but my superhero mom said she wanted to stop because the way the doctor treated my big sister and my baby sister was unacceptable and we left the dentist. All they want is money and money only when my mom said she wanted to stop the doctor said put on your glasses so many times I just ignore her because she just wanted to get money but I didn't fall for it.So here I am writing this review so I can try to save other people from this dentist. First time there for my daughter and will never go back. Waiting area is filthy. Floors are cracked, very unsafe - patients can trip and fall. Waited over an hour WITH a scheduled appointment. Dentist looked sloppy and unclean, she made me feel uncomfortable and wasn't friendly with my daughter who's special needs but is a social butterfly. Girls eating their lunch at the front desk and weren't using scrubs, instead were wearing PINK hoodies. Just terrible! If I could give zero stars, I would. read more

I got an exam and 2months later they still have not sent my documents over so I can get my mouth repaired. Not happy with them at all. This is what happened I scheduled a regular appointment with them on a Wednesday while I was there I told them I was having pain in my tooth. The doctor took X-Ray and did not see anything wrong and stated I flossed too hard and irritated the gum that is why it is swollen and it is hurting. On Saturday I was having more pain and called them from work to get me in for an emergency appointment. They told me they were booked for today and I will have to wait until Monday. I told the lady the lady on the phone the pain is in my jaw, going down my neck, and pain medicine is not working. I ask for a dental office near by she gave me 2 offices near by me I called the dental office got in the same day come to find out I had an infection below the tooth and they immediately started me on an antibiotic. read more

Went here once because I got new insurance, never went again. I waited for over 30 minutes for my SCHEDULED appointment, and once I finally got to see the dentist it was not pleasant. I hadn't been to the dentist in over a year because of insurance issues, so I had 4-5 cavities, and the dentist made me feel horrible and disgusting about myself. She was so rude and judgmental. Never told me to set up an appointment to get cavities filled, wasn't helpful at all about what to do next. I will not be going here again. read more

I've been to dental assisting school so I know a thing or two about dental care. Unfortunately, despite my tedious dental care routines, I ended up with a few tooth aches. I called and told the receptionist which teeth were bothering me (#5, #18, and #31). I went in as a new patient, filled out the painless necessary paperwork, and waited for my appointment. Their parking lot and waiting area is spacious, and the waiting area features a little game room for children, which is great for children who are anxious about seeing the dentist. The front desk receptionists were nice. The dental assistant was nice, too. She was a bit forgetful though (I had to tell her which teeth were bothering me three times). The room that I was put in had a wobbly x-ray cone head, which made x-rays more painful than usual, as the cone head weighed down on the anterior and posterior aiming rings, making the x-ray film dig into my palate and under my tongue. Ouch. I held the cone head for the subsequent x-rays. They should have someone come check that; it's mandated. The dentist was so nice. She was very professional. The exam room is set up with a 12:00 presentation (so the patient doesn't have to see the tools), the assistant was proficient with digital charting (digital is so much better), and the dentist worked quickly and efficiently, without causing pain! She was very gentle. Luckily, the few cavities I did have were surface cavities and required no anesthetic. The one thing I didn't like was that the exam rooms are open and in order for me to get to my room, I had to pass a few others - what happened to patient confidentially? One might not want to see another patient being worked on, especially if they were having an extraction. That could be bad for business. I suggest hanging vinyl curtains - easy to clean and sanitize, and they add privacy. Overall, I give them an A. read more

What a nightmare...I'll quote from another review that was hidden, "dental dreams shattered". I've been meaning to write this review for quite some time. Let me first start by saying that we have 4 children. They are 3, 6, 12 and 18 years old. Our family, and extended family and friends, has been going to Dental Dreams for the past few years and have been disappointed every time. It just KEEPS GETTING WORSE. They PACK people in like sardines. The dentists all seem VERY overworked and over their heads like you spun them like tops. Then the dentists are VERY mean. There were people in the waiting room that had been waiting for 2+ hours! How a waiting room for such a horrible place is always packed is beyond me. Anyway, expecting an absolute madhouse, we showed up very early for our appointment and asked to be split into two different doctor's schedules. We were placed into two rooms in what seemed to be the far end of the office. We saw dead COCKROACHES on the floor and the dentists were extremely mean to our kids. Let me go kid by kid to explain the HORROR SHOW... All of my kids used to go to another local dentist who was great. They moved to another state and we ended up at Dental Dreams with a doctor Agrawall (at least this is what people kept calling her). This dentist saw my 3 and 6 year old. My 3 year old, understandably, cries sometimes when they are at a very mean dentist. When she started to whimper a little bit this nut-ball dentist said, "WHY ARE YOU CRYING!?!? DID I HURT YOU!??!? STOP CRYING YOU BABY!!!!" I was dumb founded.... Then she took away my poor kid's stickers and toy and said they would only get a toothbrush for being such a bad kid and crying. My baby wasn't even moving around, just making a small amount of noise. How does this happen!?!? Poor kid, I now understand how dental phobias are formed. My 6 year old needed one filling. She started drilling into the tooth without even asking me if it was okay. She just said, "he needs a filling and we're going to do it". Then she started drilling and he was in PAIN! He started moving because it hurts to do filling on teeth that are not numb! She then THREATENED to give him a shot! Sweetheart, YOU SHOULD GIVE SHOTS FIRST BEFORE YOU DRILL!!! I should have known there were problems, they always are replacing fillings that they did at past appointments. Then she put a silver filling in and didn't ask if I wanted the tooth colored one. I then said that I didn't want silver and she said, "too late!" STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE, THEY ARE MONSTERS! My other two kids saw doctor Kapilla. She was nicer but still not very friendly. She seemed anxious to pull my 12 year olds remaining teeth even though they haven't had cavities on them. Then for my 18 year old she said that he had over 10 cavities and tried to do them without me in the room! She was about to start when I walked in and asked what was going on. She said that she was going to do silver fillings but that it was okay because he didn't have to be numb. Amazing, I kindly said we had somewhere else to be and RAN out of there. If you love your kids, your family members or yourself DO NOT GO HERE!!! The people who work there are all unprofessional and careless. I found one doctor who used to practice there but to no supreme she is gone. The next doctor I saw was rough, didn't take time to care about anything and had an attitude with me too! My son went and she drilled his teeth without anesthetics! He felt all of the pain! Being that he is 3, he remembers this and now is afraid to go back to the dentist. When my daughter witnessed this, she was afraid to go and when I tried to convince her nicely the doctor replied with this, "If she's not willing to be seen you will have to take her to a specialist instead but we are not specialists." The manager (Sara) is extremely rude, and the quality of care here is questionable. DON'T GO TO THIS DENTIST! I scheduled an appointment, and when I got to the office I didn't get called for an hour. Once they started the checkup, I don't think the person looking at my teeth knew what they were doing. After that I tried to switch dentists. When I tried to get my records, they avoided sending me my records. First it needed to be approved by corporate (which takes 3 weeks for some reason), then they never sent me my records. Months later, I called them 3 days in a row, each day they said the manager would email me the x-rays that day. They never sent me an email. Finally I went in to talk to them in person, and the manager was extremely rude, but I eventually got them to send me my x-rays. Don't go to this Dentist. read more

Took our 2 year old son here for his first dentist appointment. we had a 9am appointment. the receptionist seemed nice, and there's a play area (mcdonalds style) for kids to play in. I couldn't help but wonder how often it gets cleaned, but whatever, it kept him entertained. when we walked in, there was only 1 other patient waiting. It took a half hour for her to get called back and we proceeded to wait an entire HOUR to see the dentist. There were like 11 receptionists and apparently only 1 dentist. Being that our appointment was so early in the morning, there was no reason for their schedule to be backed up. If this place is geared towards children, it's insane to expect children to patiently wait over an hour for their appointment (i guess that's where the play place comes in!) There was another lady who came in after us and made a comment about her appointment being late today. She said last time they came in at 2pm and didn't leave till 5pm!!! This place definitely needs to work on their scheduling!! The dentist was okay, but our visit essentially consisted of me restraining my son while the doctor looked at his teeth said "there's a molar coming in". Then the hygenist brushed his teeth and applied some flouride. Not sure what I was expecting at a dentist appointment for a toddler, but I didn't picture restraining my son while he cried for 10 minutes.If this place is geared towards children, how about some puppets or cartoons or something!? At the end, they gave him 2 nice little goody bags with some tooth brushes, tooth paste, small toys, and stickers...I guess that was the highlight. I was referred to Dental Dreams, Joliet by Silver Cross Emergency room after a visit for a terrible toothache. Admittedly, I should have had my wisdom tooth pulled months ago but, because I work in sales and my job requires me to be able to talk, I put it off for a while. Nonetheless, here I am. The normal regimen for a toothache is an antiboitic in the penicillin family. Unfortunately for me, I am allergic to penicillin so I was prescribed an antibiotic that, according to Mrs. Patel from Dental Dreams, works slower than any of the "cillins'.." After taking the antibiotics and pain killers for 6 days, it was apparent that either the prescription of Norco that the emergency room wasn't working or the antibiotics weren't working. I had to take 3 advil with the norco just to take the edge off. After 2.5 hours, the pain was back at full force. Upon examination, she determined that she could not extract my wisdom tooth. Something about roots or something like that. I would need to see an oral surgeon in order to have them removed. So it's Friday and I have 4 of these pain killers left so now I'm scared to death because if you've ever had a toothache, you know that the pain shoots right into your brain. It is unbearable. She gives me a "prescription" for 5 pills. I told her that this wouldn't get me through the weekend. She told me I would need to come back in. At this point, I'm feeling like I'm being treated like a person who is seeking drugs for recreation. I'm here because I have a toothache. You just told me that the antibiotics won't work, you won't prescribe me an antibiotic that will work so you know the tooth isn't healing as it should yet.... you don't believe I'm going to be in pain? So now, if for some reason I am not able to find an oral surgeon who works on Saturdays, I'm going to be forced to take MORE TIME off from work, which I was trying to avoid AND I may have to go BACK to the emergency room for relief. Then, they had the audacity to tell me that the pain killers should work. Hmmmm... I'm no doctor however, I do know that not everyone has the same tolerance level to pain killers. When I had a major surgery in 2009, I had to be given the strongest dose of pain killers because I did not respond to Morphine for goodness sake.... Nonetheless, I had a terrible experience and I will NOT be returning nor will I recommend anyone visit this location for any serious procedures. read more

I have been taking my kids here for awhile and each experience is great. After my kids got their exams and cleanings all done they used the play room and theater room while I was able to be seen. The manager Sarah i believe even helped me get more of a deal on my cleaning which was really helpful. The times we have arrived the receptionist are always friendly when they greet us and are helpful every time i have questions. Because i get really nervous when going to the dentist. Sometimes there has been a long waiting time but i liked all the doctors i have seen and my kids are comfortable here and love the playroom. So let me start off by saying I thought this was going to be a nice experience by the way every thing looked in the lobby, nice play area, and the nice ladies at the front desk. I was all wrong. My appointment was at 10:30, forgetting I had to fill out paperwork since I am a new patient, I got here at 10:25. After I did that it took an hour for them to call me in. I have a toothache and I wanted a tooth to be extracted, some lady was really aggressive when she started to numb me hit the tooth that hurts and didn't say anything about it. Now it is 12:30 and I am still sitting here with nothing done to me, my numbing even wore off. All of this should tell you not to come here. read more

strap yourself in good while the mechanics dig in your mouth elbows in your face nearly choking and prepare for a rough landing. the end result not bad but a couple of time I thought I was going to choke on my saliva or needed to duck when the assistant reached over. the service and the cost was quick was the best part and the people were nice not the brightest bunch but the overseers made sure of that. read more

We had the most awful experience ever! If you are taking your child for the first time - please stop and think twice! The office is very dirty (not to mention how disgusting the bathroom is)! Receptionist never bothered to verify our insurance info (and she had a week to do so). Had to pay out of my pocket for the visit. Office manager VERY rude. The management of this dental office is horrendous and unprofessional!!!!!! If you ever go here and then become a patient any where else, make sure you don't need any of your medical information from this place. My daughter was a patient and then I moved (out of state) and had to switch dental facilities and I called them for FOUR MONTHS trying to get my daughters medical records/x-rays sent over to her new dentist and I even went in person to sign a release form (which they STILL couldn't give me her medical records in person) for them to send the information over and they just kept telling me over the phone that they would send them and never did. Their policies are a joke as is their corporate policies. The facility manager Sarah is completely incompetent in her position, she is the only one that can send out medical information such as x-rays and waiting on her to actually do her job or even when speaking to her is like pulling teeth without a painkiller. The other staff can't send ANY medical records and so waiting on the manager to do it, you will be left waiting a life time. Talking to the people on the phone was horrible, they act as though they can't understand what you are calling about and act as though you are speaking an unknown language and will treat you as though you are dumb and dealing with you for them seems like a hassle and they could care less! I would never recommend this dentist office to my enemy. My advice would be to stay away from this dentist practice and find a dentist facility who employs people who are competent AND helpful because the people at Dental Dreams are neither. P.S. Don't let the name fool you, this place is the worst! I brought my two boys here for their annual school exam and to get their dental work done. Front desk staff is rude and doesn't know how to properly schedule appointments. Their only concern seems to be cramming as many people in the dental chairs as possible. Oh, and they definitely have a roach infestation at this location. I counted at least 3 cockroaches while I was there, one of them was crawling up the dental chair and I screamed and had to swat at it to keep it off my kid! What a horrible way to introduce your children to the dentist. They should change their name to "Dental Dreams: Shattered" to better represent the experience you will have if you go here. read more

The people upfront who work there, all girls giggling and on their phones. They just weren't really paying attention or doing work at all. They played around to much with each other. Plus the waiting time is horrible. Made an appointment for 10am got checked like 2 hours later. WHAT A WASTE of a Saturday morning. The assistant who did the xrays was nice but then the dentist came in. She looked very busy and wanted to get over me. On their computer they had music playing and I already was laying down on the chair. The dentist and other assistants were bickering over the music and kept messing with it while I was waiting to be check. Horrible. Waste of your time. It is a madhouse in this place! Expect to wait a minimum of 2 hours for your appointment. I thought it was a fluke, but I had 2 separate appointments for my children set up and it was the same each time. Since it seemed kid friendly, I had high hopes. At first glance I really liked this place. They had a nice area for the kids to play in but that's the only thing good about this place. I went in knowing my insurance would pay the majority of the bill. When I checked out they were charging way more than expected. It didn't seem right but I paid it and left. Later when I double checked my insurance policy I realized they charged me for treatments that should have been free! I called and had them review my policy and they agreed that they made a mistake and would be refunding me. Well weeks pass and I dont receive my reimbursement check. So I call and they tell me that the manager who processed it no longer works there and they will process it this time.... Very unprofessional , seems shady go somewhere else if you can. read more

Unlike most the reviews my wait time was minimal but that was the only thing that was good. I took my two kids 15 & 18 and the dentist never talked to either of them or me during the procedure and both my kids talked about how painful it was they used the last sterile sonic scaler on my son. so, they did not have one for my daughter so the just scrapped very roughly her lower teeth never saying any thing as she whimpered from the pain they just sat and talked to each other about another previous patient and how dramatic the other patient was. They then sent us to the waiting room never saying anything. So I sat and waited for a few minutes then I asked if we where done at the desk and the receptionist was confused and said we where up next I told her we had already been seen but no one reviewed any of the findings with me and my daughters teeth were very painful. so the took us back to the dentist that never told us his name who had already started on another family. Where he then continued to discuss our medical findings in front of the other family. Even after being reminded of HIPPA laws by one of the other employees he continued. I was finally told that my son had a cavity and would have to come back to have it filled, that is not happening. Both kids left very upset and in a lot of pain. They didn't even clean all of their teeth. Now I will have to contact the insurance company to try and be able to take them some where else so they can actually get them cleaned. I have been a patient here for many years. Most times things run smoothly except you can expect to wait over an hour for your turn no matter what time your appointment is. Another thing is to have a set communication between front desk people to know that phone calls have already been made to prevent interuppting patients more then two times day. Another thing is to have someone who speaks fluent english as well as mexican too! I hope that they take these reviews seriously because it would really improve the quality of service to everyone of their patients. read more

I have never ever had a worst experience in my life!!!!!!!! I came to their office today with 2 bad teeth that needed immediate attention. I had work started on most of my teeth in the past but due to my husband being laid-off, we lost our insurance and are now on state insurance. They started with x-rays, which they had to redo twice cause they couldnt get them right. That was excusable. Then the Dentist came in, looked in my mouth and said that none of the teeth that had cavities could be saved and that they needed to be extracted. Then I was told that I need partial dentures, that the ins. didn't cover them and that they were $3400!!!!! I explained that I could never afford that being that I am the only one working and we have 3 children to support. The dentist gave me no other options, no payment options, NOTHING! She told me that there was nothing she could do for me and LITERALLY WALKED OUT OF THE ROOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in tears, beyond embarrassed and insulted for being treated that way! I dont know if it was because I now have state ins. or if she just didnt care but no one should ever have to be treated in such an unprofessional manner!!!!!!!! I would never reccomend this dental place to anyone and will actually be telling anyone that I can about my horrible experience! They should be ashamed of themselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is by far the WORST dentist that I have ever been to. First off I had an appointment scheduled for 10:30 and with 7 other people coming in after I did and having the same appointment time (when I went to ask what was taking long I noticed this) they were being taken in before me. After a 30 minute wait I asked what was taking so long the receptionist said "they are cleaning your room, you will be called in shortly." Well, 45 minutes later I was finally called in. Now, in the chair I felt as if they werent too concerned with the pain that I was in, nor believed I was in any pain. They didnt offer anything for comfort for my pain and just said that "you have to get this done." They didnt offer any refferals for dentists that could assist with the extraction of my impacted wisdom teeth. I felt rushed and as if I wasnt important. I feel as if my appointment was pointless. None of my questions were answered and I left feeling worse. I will NEVER go back to this dentist office. Rude, unfriendly and TERRIBLE service. read more
