My hygienist was excellent, thorough, kind, and made the cleaning genuinely comfortable. That's the one bright spot. Everything else fell apart. I waited over an hour for a filling with no communication from staff, despite a waiting room full of patients in the same situation. When I finally asked, I was told the doctor was severely behind due to a root canal. No one thought to tell any of us. I had to take time off work for this. They offered to reschedule me as Dr. Vu's first appointment the following Wednesday at 8am, presumably to make it right. I showed up at 8am. They had no record of my appointment. Dr. Vu wasn't even in the office, and staff couldn't explain why I'd been scheduled at all. Two trips. Two failures. Zero follow-through. The hygienist deserves 5 stars. I am leaving this review to express my extreme concern regarding the total failure of your emergency on-call doctor system here at the Blackwood location and to warn potential patients of the substandard care I feel I received here. All other locations seem to be able to keep this function operational. I have learned that over the past several months, there have been multiple reports from patients experiencing extreme pain and discomfort (and complications) following procedures done in this Blackwood office, only to find the emergency hotline is non-responsive or hangs up on the caller. This systemic failure not only undermines the trust placed in your practice but also potentially violates the standard of care expected in the dental profession. It is very distressing to learn that despite notifications from suffering patients, no corrective measures have been taken to address this critical issue. This lack of urgency in resolving this matter should be alarming and raise questions about the office's commitment to the welfare of all current and prospective patients. Dental Solutions' negligence in maintaining an operational emergency response system can have severe consequences for patients in acute distress. This is especially important considering your multiple patients who have received shoddy dental work from a now-terminated dentist at this practice. I (and others) who have connected regarding serious concerns at this location have then needed additional dental procedures to correct the work of an inept and unqualified "professional." That is not to mention the unnecessary pain and suffering this has caused for MONTHS. I'd also like to point out that the dental assistant who assisted the now-terminated dentist who appeared to be high on uppers and making strange comments the entire time and kept accidentally hitting other teeth on with dental instruments. I'd like to conclude this with another experience I had at the Dental Solutions Blackwood location. While undergoing a routine root canal (again, to correct a poorly done filling by the now-terminated employee), Dr. Lan Wu broke a file off in my root. She quickly panicked and ushered me out of the office while ensuring she told me I had signed a release, and this was not her fault. How is that for patient care? I was told to contact an endodontist to have the file removed. They gave me the name of a place that did not take my insurance. Finally, I was able to get in somewhere (paying $1400 cash) to have the file removed and the root canal completed by a capable dental professional. I then returned to Dental Solutions Blackwood where Dr. Wu put a temporary crown on. Within the week, I began experiencing pain once again, and when I returned for my permanent crown, it was so incredibly sensitive they could not complete it. I was told I'd need to return to the endodontist to have it checked. On my way out, they attempted to charge for me the crown! Are you kidding me? Since then, the tooth was retreated several times but in the end it has to be pulled. My last experience at Dental Solutions was when I went back to have my temporary put back on. The assistant didn't even clean it, she just kept trying to jam it back on several ways, clearly lacking the training to do this. The pain was unbearable. This was the last I could tolerate of this poor care and walked out! Since then, I have had the opportunity to receive dental care without the dentist frantically going from patient to patient mid-procedure, poorly trained assistants from expressing frustration and arguing with coworkers in front of patients. I'd also like to note that two of my other fillings done in December here are now being redone tomorrow and one may need to be a root canal now. Here we go again! I am now on the hook for over $10,000 on this one tooth. I urge you to conduct a thorough investigation into this matter and implement the necessary protocols to prevent such oversights in the future. The well-being of your patients must be a top priority, and it is essential that all aspects of care, including emergency response, are held to the highest standards. If you'd like to gamble with your dental health and the extreme pain that comes from a practice seemingly lacking qualified, caring and capable professionals, as well as any semblance of concern for their patients, you may do so. But I could not in good conscience fail to leave this review as our first step in educating prospective patients of your practice. read more

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! I went there last year for a cleaning, all I got were xrays & was told I need crowns, root canals & gum surgery. Never got the cleaning!!!!! I just got back from seeing a REAL dentist, he told me I had a few cavities & did a terrific cleaning..I'm looking forward to going back to him. Also, I saw the sheet this place sent to my insurance company...they wanted to crowns on ALL my teeth that didn't have crowns. They don't care about the patient, all they want is money!!! read more

I simply cannot wait until my insurance renews and I pick a different plan and a different dental office! Zero communication, below par services - don't waste your time and instead find a professional dental office - there are still a few good ones left. Last year we switched insurance, went from top notch coverage to a notch down, so I moved to this dental office. What a huge mistake! I had my first cleaning, which was so terrible that it was visible how little was done to clean my teeth. I had told the hygenist that, since I have a high risk of periodontitis, I was on an regiment of a deep cleaning, followed by a regular cleaning, four times a year at my previous dentist. She obviously ignored this information and her version of regular cleaning was beyond terrible. I then called the office and spoke to the manager about it. They got me in to see a specialist, who agreed that I should be on the old regiment from now on. After my first deep cleaning and then a regular cleaning, I tried to schedule the next deep cleaning appointment. I was THEN told that my insurance will not cover any kind of cleaning until the end of the year and it will be over $150 out of pocket. When I said I was told to see the specialist who will approve the regiment (and my insurance company will pay based on this approval) I was now told that the insurance will not approve it, unless after the first cycle of deep cleaning/regular cleaning, the specialist performs some sort of gum surgery. The initial advice they gave me was wrong, what the specialist told me was wrong and now my only option was to come see the specialist for a new assessment. His next available appointment was over 3 months later - January 22. I arrived 10 minutes early and proceeded to wait another 35 minutes. When I went to inquire whether it will be much longer, I was told that they do not know exactly how long, but there are two people before me... I told the receptionist who checked me in that had she mentioned something when I arrived, it would have been better. She was unapologetic and said that he is running late and that cannot be helped and the other receptionist chimed in advising me to maybe keep this appointment as the specialist's next available appointment is in April. Needless to say this nonchalant attitude, coupled with the lack of communication since day one, made me walk out and write this review. I am counting the months until I can purchase the top notch insurance again and move to my old dentist office. read more

Avoid this place if you can. *see updates at the bottom* I am new to the area so instead of making an appointment with the dentist I have been seeing for the past 20 years, I thought it may be convenient to find a new dentist closer to my new location. I checked out my options and Dental Solutions came up on my search and had pretty great google reviews. So, I made an appointment and was all set. When I went in form my appointment the women at the front desk were busy with other patients, so they asked me to sign in and take a seat. My appointment was at 3:30 pm, so I arrived at 3 to fill out any new patient paper work and what not. So, I take a seat, and I am waiting, and waiting, and waiting for a total of 42 to minutes to be exact. Not once did the women call me over to fill out paperwork. Finally, a very nice hygienist approached me and was concerned over the fact I have been waiting so long. Turns out the women at the front desk "forgot" about me. Being the polite person that I am, I shrugged it off and filled out the paperwork. I then sat for another 10-15 minutes waiting to be taken back. Finally, they call my name and I go back and sit for ANOTHER 10 minutes waiting for the tech to do xrays. After I get the xrays I wait ANOTHER 10-15 minutes for the dentist who was at the time working on filling a cavity with the patient next to me. When the dentist comes in, she takes off her dirty gloves in front of me and puts new ones on while talking with me. I personally think that is a little gross and unprofessional, but that could just be me. She then takes 5 seconds to look at my xrays, then asks me to lay back in the chair so she can have a look. She does not poke or prod at any of me teeth. She just does a visual exam and do you know what she then told me?! She said I have 3 severe cavities that are on the verge of needing a root canal. THREE. I go to the dentist faithfully every six months. There is no way I need THREE root canals. I have no pain and no signs of needing THREE root canals. After she told me that I was beyond annoyed. I asked if I should sit tight for the hygienist or if I should go wait to be called back. The dentist then tells me "Oh, we don't do same day hygiene work". That would have been very nice to know ahead of time when I made my appointment. Overall, this place is just so unprofessional. From the front desk, to the tech, to the dentist. I am going to drive 2 hours back to the dentist i have been seeing every 6 months for the past 20 years to get a second opinion on these so called root canals that are claimed by Dental Solutions that I need. If you have the option, avoid them. UPDATE: I went back to my to the dentist that I have been seeing for the past 20 years on 5/29/18 and the verdict was I DO NOT have cavities under my fillings and most certainly do not need a root canal. After telling my dentist about the experience I had at Dental Solutions he was absolutely in shock and could not believe they said I needed fillings and root canals. I had a bizarre experience here recently with a dentist. Dr. Vu. I had come in for molar pain and had thought I needed a filling redone. That's where the problems started. I've only ever had a filling so when I was told I had to get a root canal I had questions and concerns. I asked Dr. Vu questions for reassurance and was given one word responses in broken English no explanation. So I reluctantly made an apt with a endodontist who did the root canal and when that was done I made an apt with Dr. Vu for a crown. A day before the apt I get a call saying they have to cancel she wasn't even in that day and I'd get a call back to reschedule. Never called back so I call and am told she doesn't want to see me anymore that the doctor patient relationship was compromised? Because I asked her a few questions?! How dare I?! So now I have an unfinished tooth and am told sorry bc you asked questions the way you did we are not going to see you. And I have an HMO so it's not easy to find another dentist. I would not go anywhere else, and also take my children here. We think Liz, the hygienist, and Dr Vu, our dentist, are the best ever. These are people we've gotten to know over years, so this is a time-tested opinion. Both are very caring, professional, and great at what they do. They are exceptionally wonderful with children. She offered suggestions which I followed, and she was able to resolve the issues quickly. I waited a1 hr and 15 mins. At that time, I was told it would be another 15-20 minutes wait. All I was having done was x-rays. I spoke to Edna, the office manager, and she was snotty with me saying, "Haven't you ever waited this long for your other physicians?" No. I haven't. This isn't normal. If I could give no stars I would. I had to get a root canal, which I was sent to a specialist who was great. He said make sure you go back within 4 weeks to Dental solutions to get the permanent filling. I tried to schedule an appointment with this office the day I got my root canal in order to get my permanent covering of the root canal. I called numerous times and was told the same thing. Every time I called, they said they had to speak to the office manager before I could do that?? Never heard back from them. I even transferred to this office from the Deptford location because that office was horrible as well. I now live in TN as my husband got transferred for a job here and have a wonderful dentist who completed their unfinished work. I Would never recommend this dentist office ever. read more

This is by far, the worst dentist office I've ever experienced. Money first- patients second type of attitude. Recently i had the worst pain of my life with a toothache, almost unbearable. I called their office after i had dropped my daughter off at school and begged if they could see why I was in so much pain. First i was put on hold for over 5 min after i told the receptionist the problem- she then put the office manager on the phone who proceeded to tell me she read in my notes i preferred the deptford location... in my head I'm thinking is this really relevant when I'm calling this location specifically because it's closer. She than continued to tell me i had missed appointments and that they usually drop patients after that, and continued to say deptford most likely won't see me either. I work in customer service and if someone was in pain as bad as I was i would not tie up their time for over 15 minuets to explain why they won't "most likely " help me. She was cold and arrogant- she finally decided to ask the dentist after all this, put me on hold for even longer and i hung up and was able to be seen at eastern dental right away in Woodbury heights. No questions asked. Just to clarify why I've missed a few appointments with this Blackwood dental solutions is because of the way they've treated me- I have dental anxiety as it is, and to top it off when I did need work done i was always sent to other locations - i sat in the office and he evaluated me and said i had to schedule to come in for a cleaning- which i thought i was already there for! I brought my daughter who was 8 in there with me for an evaluation and he refused to do work on her cavity because she was a kid- not even a cleaning! It's been nothing but a waste of time and money. And the customer service is the absolute worst. Sorry for the long rant, i never do reviews, but after how i was treated for the last time i felt the need to warn other people!! Going to the dentist isn't a fun thing, so you want to make sure you pick someone who truly is going to make you feel as comfortable as possible! I have had the displeasure of visiting this dental office on 2 occasions in the same month! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION OR COMPANY. The front desk staff are grossly unprofessional. On both visits the front desk staff discussed personal matters pertaining to myself and my niece in the front lobby area and the treatment room ( which has 4 seating sections).When the manager got involved after I requested her presence, she also began a conversation in the main lobby! Needless to say, I will be taking my business and health insurance to another dental office. On a positive note, their hygentist is pleasant and exhibited excellent service! read more
