When i came in the day of the appointment, I was told all I owed was a little over $1200. I asked if they were sure, because my original quote was for more. The lady said she ran the numbers, and she was positive. They called a couple of months ago and left a message saying I owed more money. I called back, spoke to the lady that does the billing and she told me I shouldn't have gotten that call, because the service was originally billed to the insurance incorrectly. She would take care of it. It is now more than 6 months past the service and i just got a call 10 days before Christmas saying that I really do owe an extra $1300. That's more than then I originally paid them. I understand they can be off in their calculations, but over 100% off? That's ridiculous. I will pay it, because the service was done, and it was done well, but I will never go back. That makes me sad, because the hygienist, Sarah, is really good, and the dentist guy isn't terrible, but I don't want unexpected bills over the amount I previously paid popping up unexpectedly. It acted as a deposit and in case I did not fulfill the appointment time. I do not have dental insurance but do have income to support my appointments. I was shocked at this requirement and moved on to another dentist that did not require a prepayment - deposit just to be seen. I realize some people do not meet their appointments but I am not that person. Perhaps $25 like many medical entities but was shocked at this requirement. This will not be my dentist.
