This is the location that I always go to for my vehicle registration. I never have any issues. Right when you walk in, just go to the kiosk and pull a ticket. I wait until my number is called. Walk up to the window with all my documents. Pay and leave with my registration sticker. The earlier I get there the better. It can get crowded even in the mornings. Obviously anything involving the government sucks, and this place is no exception. For the most part the staff I encountered were rude, dismissive, and not informative at all. I spoke with three different people in regards to my issue and got three different responses on how to resolve it. I'm not sure why anyone who hates dealing with people would get into customer service. Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The building is pretty nice thanks to our tax dollars but that's just about the only highlight you'll have in coming here. Set aside half of your day and expect to be annoyed. read more

First, I've never been able to register a vehicle here in less than 3 trips. This last trip was for a cargo trailer. I was told any trailer less than 7500lb didn't require an inspection. After a 57 minute wait, the first clerk told me I needed to get an inspection to prove it weighted less than 7500 lbs and the VIN# could be confirmed. 2nd Trip after an 94 minute wait they chose to ignore the weight on the inspection report, and required I go to a truck stop and get 2 weight tickets, 1 with car and trailer, one just the car. Upon returning, and waiting another 24 minutes, I was told they don't do title work after 4:00 and had to come back yet again. Icing on the cake, the weight tickets don't have any vehicle accountability. Just an extra $24 and 3 hours of unnecessary effort the Denton County Clerks office requires. The inspection report GVW of 2900 lbs should have been more than adequate proof it weights less than 7500 lbs. read more

Just got back from visiting to get our marriage license and am very happy. After failing for two weeks trying to use Dallas County offices at various locations and being directed incorrectly a couple of times, I was not very hopeful, however what a difference! Firstly the online system to submit application worked, 1 point to Denton County. When we arrived at 10:30am there was clear signage on the outside and inside of the building on where to go, 1 point Denton County. When we got to the clerks office we were greeted by Stephen and asked how he could help, 1 point Denton County. Stephen pulled up our online record quickly, checked our IDs and administered the oath. Stephen took the time to explain the process and we even got an envelope to return the completed license post ceremony, 1 point Denton County. The tally is Denton County 4, Dallas County 0. The service was friendly and efficient, thank you Denton County and Stephen for helping to take some stress out of the process. read more

Government office close to home. They are always busy so try to pick off times to go. Denton Co. tax assessor office is for vehicle registration, license plates and property taxes. If it's your first time here make sure you're getting in the right line. The county clerks office takes the last person at 4:15pm every day M-F. This is the office for Passports & vital statistics. Be sure to sign in on the clipboard, they will call your name a few times then move on if you don't answer. Be sure to have cash and check you will need both. There is ATM in the lobby. They do take passport pictures at this location. The staff was very friendly and patient. I had a lot of questions and she was patient and very informative. You will also need identification and birth certificate for obtaining your passport They keep your BC but I was assured they will mail it back to you. I believe they stay open late on Tuesdays but that is just the tax assessors office not the county clerks office. Overall I'm thankful this is so close to home because its definitely an office that I will continue to visit. They also have a nice memorial out front. Work taking some time to look at. read more

Surprisingly well run and efficient. The online check in process solves a lot of the anxiety associated with places like this and their long lines. Absolutely unbelievable. Husband was able to get clearance for emergency surgery in Canada. Took time off work to go get passports. Office states they are open until 430, but actual closing time is 415. Hallways were crowded, unattended children running around everywhere. Office staff is rude. We got there early in the afternoon and waited several hours. We were literally the next people in line and they came out and announced the office was closing and we could not be seen even though it was 415, and their sign clearly stated they were open until 430. We begged the rep to please let us in as we had both taken pto off work and it was for my husband's surgery and it was not 430. The rep just shrugged and closed the door. If they had stayed open until their posted closing time, we could have easily made it in before the 430 closing time. Horrible experience. read more

This place is terrible. Tried going here because it is closer to home. I bought a new car, my first in texas. I bought a specialty plate, and went to pick it up when it came in. I was told I need the plates from the dealer to associate the special plates with. I didnt know in Texas that the dealer gets your plates. No problem, they gave me my special plates, but said i cant put them on until I get my dealer plates. They told me all I needed to do when I got my dealer plates was bring in my registration sticker. Ok, sounds easy enough. Well I got my dealer plates, went in and waited for an hour in line, then was told they needed to know my special plate number. I told her I was given my special plates last visit, and they were at home, and I didnt know what the number is. Sorry, she said, I cant help you until you tell me what the plate number is. It gets so tiresome with people at businesses telling you one thing, and then the next time a different person at the same business tells you something completely different, with no accountability for feeding you wrong information. read more

The workers in the tax accessor's office should be giving a mandatory training on how to talk to people. I've seen in the past two days them yell at people that could hardly speak English or simply refuse to answer questions for those seeking help. This is the service our tax dollars pay for in Denton County....If you are non-white or do not speak good English beware of the trashy fat hags in this office! read more
