No matter what kind of business you have the misfortune of needing to conduct at this place, it's almost guaranteed that you'll encounter surly workers whose disdain for their jobs is on full display. I actually think the job description for employment here reads something along the lines of, "Do you have a great deadpan? Come join our team! People skills not required. A rude and condescending nature is preferred. Help us achieve our goal of 100% customer dissatisfaction!" At least for passport renewals the process is mercifully quick. I can't even put into words the amazing treatment and kindness these employees of this establishment had. We wanted to get married so within 15 min we were in and out with our marriage license, Arie was so nice and made the process so easy and understandable. After that, she recommended James to marry us. James Kerbow married us and all I can say is I will be recommending him to other friends. I completed my car registration renewal online and due to COVID-19, it said I may expect delays in receiving it. I received a confirmation email with the ability to track it and even though it said "delivered" I never received it. Came to this location to get a replacement registration. Social distancing protocols were evident and procedures are in place. Upon entering there are two touch screens used for self check in, both for people with and without an appointment. Came on a Friday afternoon with a handful of people also in the waiting area and was in and out in less than 5 minutes. I had my name, address, email, phone number, VIN, License Plate number, year/make/model of my car written down and also brought in the expired registration sticker as well as my Texas Drivers License, all of which I gave to the customer service representative. I was helped by Michelle who not only quickly processed my replacement registration, but also was friendly and additionally offered to update my current contact information on file. New location for local county services such as paying taxes, car registration/renewals/tiles, drivers license, county clerk, justice of the peace and many other services. See the image for the complete list of services. This is a much nicer building that is well laid out and you would think they would have improved the efficiency of those service, ah NO! It takes just as long or longer to do a vehicle registration(1 hour +). But don't feel sorry for me, feel sorry for the poor folks who are in the DMV line, it's out the door all the way around the stairwell. The tax office is on the 1st floor on the far right side of the floor and the DMV is on the 2nd floor, up the stairs in the southwest side of the building. It's a nice new building with improvements to services like electronic checkin and larger waiting areas that are cooler with clean restrooms. It is nice to see where our tax dollars are going. read more

Had to come here on a special trip just to pick up my marriage license on 8/25/16 as marriage licences in the county can only be granted within an excess of 72 hours of your marriage ceremony. Because we live out of state, we weren't going to fly in 4-5 days prior to our wedding to get a license, hence the reason we came for a long weekend in August. This is one of the few offices that has a marriage bureau (the old Denton County courthouse does not issue marriage licenses.) I was shocked at #1 how friendly the employees were and #2 how nice the building is. We know that Yelp doesn't always have correct business hours listed so we tried to find out by calling. The website and hotline are inadequate, in that they don't tell you the hours that this place is open. Everything opens at 8 AM. After taking a red eye from Las Vegas (where we live) to DFW, we were really worried that there'd be long lines right when they opened, sort of like the DMV. Downstairs where the offices dealing with traffic stuff is, were pretty empty. Upstairs where the marriage bureau is, we were by ourselves. The license that you get is very beautiful, very old Texas. If you don't take the Texas marriage class, your license is $82, cash only. We were in and out in less than a half hour. If you have to get paperwork, I'd highly suggest this office due to the lack of crowds and fast processing times. read more

This has to be the easiest and best experience I've ever had at a government / dmv / county service place. We are new to the state of TX so we knew that we had to get our Texas licenses within 90 days of our residency. After a few minutes of research online to see what we needed we were on our way! My husband and I were in and out of there in less than an hour!! What would normally be an all day even in CA took hardly any of our day! We were so impressed. And the customer service....PHENOMENAL! The lady that helped us was so kind and efficient. So good to know that something like a license renewal or registering your car doesn't have to be a pain! So good to be in TX!! read more

Had an easy time getting our California car registration switched over. Quick service, patient with our lack of proper documentation-she talked us through and we managed to get out of there in about 20 minutes. Went back to get a business license and was greeted by the most wonderful woman who was kind and actually showed some compassion for me as my home state was literally on fire that day. Very efficient I was done in 5 minutes flat. Poked my head into the drivers license office.. it did look like a zoo both days I was there. Seems like a painful process. I'll bite the bullet one of these days and do it. And I will definitely do it at this location read more

I had to renew my driver's license in person, so I was dreading this being an all day event. I attempted to go to the Carrollton office, but the wait was 50+ people and roughly 4 hours. No thanks! After looking online, the Lewisville branch had online check-in with an estimated wait of only 40 minutes. Sold! Being able to check-in online and get in line ahead of time is a major help. This reduced the amount of time I had to wait even more, and they were very efficient with getting people in and out so the estimated time was on the nose. This was by far the nicest government office I've ever gone to. The building itself was very clean and quiet, the temperature was perfect, and the employees were well dress. The employees were very helpful and appeared to actually care about their job. After seeing someone, I was out of there within 15 minutes. If you need to get anything taken care of and you're within a reasonable distance, this branch is the one you should go to. read more
