I was forced to seek paid clothes washing services when my washer flooded my utility room the afternoon I had guests coming for the weekend - ugh! Enter Denton Highway Laundromat, a clean, nicely maintained laundromat equipped with shiny new stainless washers and dryers. It's been a long time since I've visited a laundromat and I found the washers to be high-tech and available in a surprising variety of sizes. There were five different capacities of frontloading washers available with prices for a single wash ranging from $2.50 to $8.50. Wash time was 23 minutes for most of the machines, 25 for the largest. I was able to stuff what would've taken three loads in my top loader at home into a single front loader for a wash that cost $6.50. The washers lock while they operate. So, I used the 20 minutes to go across the street for a car wash and was back before the cycle was completed. The woman who ran the laundromat was very helpful, explaining where the detergent went in the various machines and how much laundry could fit in each one. As an obvious newbie I attracted good natured laundry small talk from the friendly community of those-who-pay-for-washing. A tatted tank top and ponytail patron illustrated the size of each washer by detailing his loads with me, "10 work shirts and drawers" was my favorite quote of the experience. One small improvement would have been if the machines accepted credit cards or bills. I don't normally carry cash, but happened to have $10 in my wallet. $6.50 is a lot of quarters to feed into a machine! If I can't fix or replace my water at home right away, I'll be a return customer to Denton Highway Laundromat. read more

I live right next to this place and I have for years. I no longer go because there are too many rules. The owners stare at you and follow you around. My washer is broken but you cannot dry if you don't wash there. You're not considered a customer. It's a little pricey as it is and the prices are always charging. I like that they have 2 entrances so either side if the parking lot is by a door. Also like its a free standing business and not a strip mall. The bad reviews I saw didnt deter me from trying because all bad reviews were about dog hair. My favorite is definitely the 8 loader where I can wash my king size comforter with room to spare or 2 weeks worth of laundry in just 25 minutes! They also have free Wi-Fi, multiple flat screen TVs, and 4 vending machines with soaps, drinks and snacks that keeps me one happy customer. Also, along with their basic coin return that returns your bills for coins (right side), they have the bill recycler (left side). It returns bills in $5. So when I put in my $20 bill, I only get $5 in coins and the other $15 dollars is returned in three $5 bills. Really convenient! read more

Absolutely horrible. Let me start off by saying that the facility itself is very nice. Nice large washers and dryers, brand-new and very spacious. However. I come in and am paying for 7 loads of laundry (40 dollars worth) and I grab myself a laundry cart. As I'm waiting for my multiple loads to get done, Mary comes up to me as if she is my mother shaking her finger at me saying "No no no, get up. Right now." And take the cart away from me to give to another person, when I am ACTIVELY using it. Absolutely absurd when I'm dropping that much money in a laundry mat. That I can't have 1 ONE SINGLE cart? This place was very nice and very well kept. Our machine has been broken for weeks and we finally had to take 3 weeks worth of laundry in on a Sunday afternoon. It was very crowded, but the manager helped us find machines and helped my husband get change. It was pretty pricey, but the quality of the machines made up for it. I watched the manger wipe down the machines inside and out between each use. I don't think he sat still for even a minute! If he wasn't helping a customer he was emptying trash, wiping machines, sweeping the floor. He even made sure waiting customers had rolling carts to put their laundry in. There were plenty of fans to keep the air circulating and multiple flat screen TVs to keep us entertained. I'm hoping my machine gets fixed, but if not I will certainly be back! read more

I'm just glad I'm moving into a new apartment with washers and dryers in my unit. I only come here to wash my comforters really. Your attitude toward the customers made me extremely uncomfortable that I can't come here no longer. Even though your venue is clean and well kept that is not the only reason I would want to come. He told me which machine would be the most cost effective and how I should dry it. He was such a big help when the pad was soaking wet from the washer. If I could give zero stars I literal would. This is a nice new laundry mat. Clean and everything you could want when going to wash your clothes. The issue comes with the man who runs the establishment. As I walked in he started directing me to where I was "supposed to go". The more expensive machines however I didn't have enough clothes to need to use those ones. So I proceeded to the medium and small washing machines, 2 medium and 1 s started sorting my clothes into three washing machines. He then comes by and says you really need a larger one. None of the washers were even half full. So I finally fill one of the washing machines. I go to close the door. At this point he has been literally standing over me pretending to mop the same area over and over. He tells me not to slam the door. Which I had not done. He points to a sign saying see can you not read it says don't slam. I tell him again sir I didn't slam the door. He wasn't even latched at that point. So I ask him if there is a problem due to the fact of the tone he was talking in and the way he was acting. He then processed to ask me was I mad in a very antagonizing manner. I am a young woman. All of this made me feel extremely uncomfortable . So for obvious reasons I left and will never be returning. I just moved to the area saw it was new and had 4 stars. So I thought I was in the clear. Obviously I was wrong. Maybe he was just having a bad day but it was a very uncomfortable situation especially with him looking over me while I sort my laundry, under garments included. So all in all I would say be careful. Especially if you're a woman going by yourself. There was plenty of other patrons all in groups and he never said I word to any of them. Robert, the onsite manager, is continuously walking around picking up stray pieces of used drying sheets from the floor, wiping the front of the machines, checking the drums on the inside of the machines for forgotten pieces of clothing, wiping the cleaning supply intake receptacles above the washing machines, talking to people, assisting people obtain a rolling laundry cart, opening doors for people who have their hands full, wiping the door hardware, cleaning the windows, etc., etc....the guy doesn't stop. The place is extremely clean. He's the reason my first impression, on my initial visit, was great and I continue to have the same great impression on each subsequent visit. The place offers a variety of washing machine capacities and two walls full of drying machines. There are plenty of folding tables and rolling laundry carts; plenty of chairs to sit; vending machines dispensing laundry supplies, drinks, and snacks; as well as a machine that will break your $20 bill into $5 bills and $5 bills into quarters. There is a gas station nearby - that many people have walked to, including me - that has an ATM available. The interior is very well lit and air conditioned. There are several sitting areas where people can enjoy the three large, television monitors. The main sitting area also provides a variety of magazines. There is a restroom available which Robert keeps extremely clean. There is also a stand-alone sink outside the restroom for washing hands, etc. The exterior of the building has a modern facade of light, sandstone colored stones. The lighted fixtures are also modern and provide very good lighting outside during the evening hours. Both combine to form a sense of a safe environment. There is plenty of parking and overflow parking is available next door or along the side street. Access to the laundromat is easy as it is located alongside Denton Highway...just pull in and pull out. In addition, concrete ramps make it easy to roll the laundry cart from the inside of the building directly to your car on the parking lot. Overall, this is an easily accessible, VERY clean and convenient place to wash and dry your clothes with many washing machine options in a safe and well cared for building. The owner at this establishment is completely rude and disrespectful. My husband actually stopped there to dry a load of towels because our dryer recently broke. The new will not be delivered until this coming week, anyway my husband didn't see the sign on the window because I guess if you are just drying you cant use his facility which is fine. He could have just said that and it would have been over, but instead he proceeded to say you look sneaky and defiant and take your business elsewhere. I want to say since moving here from Ohio in 2019 I have never seen such an arrogance about someone. But we need to remember how we treats others will come back 10 fold. If you are any type of pet owner do not wash your clothes at this laundromat, i have one dog and came in to wash a few blankets which are not bedding i will add. After i loaded my clothes and blankets the attendant who works here came up to me and told me i smelled like an animal. He told me that he needed to inspect my washers, I of course let him. After he checked my clothing he told me to proceed with washing my clothes but there better not be any hair in the washer when i am done. He stood behind me the whole time my clothes were washing and stared, making me feel very uncomfortable. I let him inspect my washers after my clothes were done and he said everything is good. He then proceeded to bring a huge shop vac and vacuumed out the washers before anyone else used them. It was a degrading feeling, i told him i could understand him doing this if there was hair left behind in the washer but there was not. I was so surprised! I've not been into a coin operated laundromat for over 30 years but the dog's bed needed an extra big machine. This place was new, exceptionally clean, had lots of machines (4 different size washers and two different size dryers). I needed help in sorting it all out and the owner (as well as three friendly customers) was there keeping the place extra clean and got me all fixed up. I know, I know.... THIS IS NOT ROCKET SCIENCE... None-the-less, I needed help and it was there. They have vending machines with the necessary soaps and fabric softeners and etc. In addition they have vending machines for drinks and snacks too. There are two large screen TV's to keep you company too. If you need to do your own clothes, this is the place to go!! Oh, and they have security camera's there too, That's a nice touch. Although open until 10 PM, you need to put your last loads in not later than 8:30. They open M-F at 7 AM and on Saturday and Sunday at 6 AM. read more

Costs more per load than some other area laundromats. Hours are a bit more limited than some other places too. Went there largely for the advertised free wi-fi, which wasn't working. Parking is very limited and it fills up -- there have been times I couldn't park so ended up going some place else. On the plus side, it's very clean and the machines are newish and in good condition. Washing clothes is washing clothes and nothing can change that, but if aesthetics are the most important thing to you, you'll like this place. If you think you're going to be surrounded by a higher class of clientele, you're kidding yourself. A laundromat is a laundromat. read more
