Tull wouldn't stand for that, so she took digital photos of the "problems" and sent them directly to my insurance company!

I've meet the most horrible oral surgeons in my time. Dr. Erakat is the best. He greeted me and my husband with open arms. He explained everything to me and I'm so calm. I'll be heavenly sedated so I'll need a ride home. Dr. Erakat didn't make me feel stupid and I'm eager to get my surgery over this Monday Just remember if you want to acquire about his service. Make sure that you have a PPO insurance and not a DMO.. I want to futher explain about insurance. Insurance can be an complete nightmare. Having an DMO plan leaves you to only the providers that your insurance picks. Those dental/surgeons don't always have your best interest at heart. Call your insurance company and make sure you have the best they have to offer. Edit: 1/28/19 I'm home now and my surgery went amazing. Dr. Erakat and his team stayed right by my side. He started me off with laughing gas. As I was relaxing he was telling my husband everything about after care. I remember him telling my husband I was going out and he will call me back in. Once I woke up I thought we was getting started. That's just how fast it went. Cool part is that he gave me my wisdom teeth Okay pain meds kicking in so I'll update later

I've read horror stories of other experiences post extraction so i'm very happy that I went with Dr. Ekarat for this procedure as he knows what he's doing. When I chipped a front tooth my former dentist couldn't see me for a week but Dr. Cortese brought me in immediately and rebuilt the tooth. A perfect repair, and pain free. From the moment I sat in the chair, I was being sold products, services, cleanings, the family dog... you name it. I am sure that this doctor is good at what he does. He spent quite a bit of time with me. Its just whether or not his services are actually needed, that is the question. I'd never experienced any pain before this visit, yet the doctor told me that my teeth were cracked. Now, I looked at the Xray myself, and didn't see what he was talking about, but, I have no idea what I'm looking at when it comes to Xrays, and I'm sure he knew that. He began telling me about all of the work that I'd be needing, and insisted that I come in as soon as I possibly could, to get it all done. I was worried. I haven't had any issues with my teeth since I was a child. I like to take good care of my teeth. I was determined to do whatever was necessary, to maintain my smile for as long as I possibly could - especially in light of the fact that "this doctor never suggests any work that you don't need to have done! that is a guarantee!!" well, I decided to get a second opinion - and I'm glad that I did. I was shocked, and pleased to learn that my teeth are perfectly fine. There isn't a single crack, my fillings are all in tact, my bonding is in good shape. I need absolutely no work, at all. However, the doctor suggested that I'd need a cleaning soon. I explained to him that I'd had an "extensive cleaning," done at this other office. He looked puzzled, and told me that it didn't look like it. Like I said, I take good care of my teeth. I should not have the build up that I already have, after just getting a cleaning recently. I was very disappointed, and learned a very valuable lesson. If you feel uncomfortable in an office, get up and leave. Don't even finish the visit. You'll be glad you did. I wish that I had.

If he did, he would…read morehave suggested I keep my wisdom teeth embedded in my jaw when my incompetent and careless orthodontist referred me to him again for wisdom teeth removal. Not everyone needs their wisdom teeth removed. For some, the risks don't outweigh the benefits. I had a rare and complicated orthodontic case with 4 premolars removed and then when I was 14, Dr. Levine did surgery to expose my 4 impacted canine teeth. At age 18, I questioned Dr. Levine about whether I should get my wisdom teeth removed - shouldn't I try to keep them? Finally he doubtfully said I could try but that I'd definitely need braces again. He is not an orthodontist, and if he were being honest, he would have told me either way I would need braces again. After feeling ashamed about my teeth for my entire adolescence there was nothing I wanted less than to have braces again. That convinced me. That was stupid, they're called wisdom teeth for a reason. I now have gaps in my upper teeth that opened shortly after my wisdom teeth was removed. I remember the last time I saw my pediatric dentist, which was a few months after I got my wisdom teeth removed, he said he was EXCITED about my wisdom teeth. I said quietly I got them removed. Later, I was in the chair and he was looking at my mouth, almost looking to see if my wisdom teeth were growing in when I complained about the gap that had opened up between my two front teeth. He said OH, that will close up when your wisdom teeth grow in. Well, then I made it clear they were gone and he had a horrified look on his face. He was clearly upset this was done to me. My upper 2nd molar is now twisted out toward my cheek on one side because there is so much space behind it where my wisdom teeth would have likely grown in fine. When I go to the dentist, they lament "you poor thing" "what happened to you" and pity me. Thanks to Doctor Levine who did not care enough to give me good advice and instead chose to line his own pockets. Dr. Levine was trained as a dentist was and he knew this along with jaw issues would happen to me. Now that my brain and jaws are fully developed, I realize I was treated like I was done growing at 12 years old and this gave me the false idea that I could never be enough. He loves ripping peoples teeth out a bit too much. He chooses money over the health of his patients. Doctors will lie and give unsound medical advice for money and to make their jobs easier. Dr. Levine is in on this corruption. I suggest avoiding this place on principle.

To be safe, a vacuum should be used along with alternative air source, a dam over the mouth that leaves only the treated tooth out. Also cold water should be directed to the tooth at all times etc. Dr. Huckel was not the first dentist I inquired. I initially made an appointment with a regular dentist at Eastern dental (what a sham of a place, I'll review it shortly), but was treated as if I was crazy to care about how the procedure would take place. I was very disheartened. Princeton's a small place, where would I find a doctor that thinks in the same "crazy" way I did? Then Dr. Huckel came into the picture. Not only did Dr. H follow all the the protocols I mentioned above, he genuinely cared and was really resourceful about various alternative fillings/onlays. They have the most up to date equipment and technology, and the staff there are really professional and thorough. I ended up getting ceramic onlays (this was early '10), and not only do they blend with my teeth, they feel wonderful. I've been coming here for checkups and cleanings ever since, and the hygienists have really helped me establish a healthier teeth regimen (the two I've had were both really knowledgeable). Finally, the decor of the place is really plush. Not sure if that'll be of difference to anyone, but I appreciate the care they've put into the practice.
