We often come here from Norwich for a day out as there is so much to do…read more First, there are some lovely walks in this beautiful, mostly pine forest. With our small children we tend to take the route that includes all the fantastic wooden play sculptures. This means every few hundred yards or so you come across a wooden rabbit, bird, squirrel and so on designed to be explored with slides, fireman poles, ladders etc This keeps them going all the way round and they have a lot of fun. There are also some fantastic cycle routes available, different trails according to the level of difficulty. If you are a seasoned mountain biker you may wish to bring your own bike, on the other hand if you just want to have a taste of what it is like there are bikes available for hire by the hour or longer. We hired some once with a kids trailer fixed to the back of the bike and our girls loved it! There is a lovely open grassy area near the High Lodge Visitor Centre where you can play your own ball games too. We have been with a large party before and had a great day here using that area, hiring the barbecues to cook our lunch on and exploring the adjacent adventure play area. The centre itself has a gift shop and largish restaurant if you don't feel like bringing a picnic. There is a small charge of £6 to enter Thetford Forest if you park at High Lodge. Well worth it when you consider a family can have a brilliant day out for that amount!

My son loves coming here, it's nice and close to the station and Tesco so we go on the train. He has a great time climbing, swinging and throwing balls around. The play equipment is not very well supervised, so you need to keep an eye on what's going on. There's a cafe which serves good meals and watery coffee which you can consume while the kids play. The toilets are good, clean and tidy.

The fitness staff will run various health screening checks and talk through what you want to achieve and then draw up a fitness programme for you to follow. On the other hand, if you know what you're doing, you can do your own thing. Is a very light and modern looking place, with equipment on two levels. Its always clean, the atmosphere is always lively and friendly, and the staff are accessable and happy to assist with anything. Containing all the equipment you'd expect to find in such a place - treadmills, rowers, bikes etc, as well as free weights and weigh machines, an exercise area, and so on. Changing rooms are clean and well maintained, the reception area sells a variety of health drinks and is comfortable. Prices are reasonable, both for annual and monthly membership schemes, provided you get a bit of use out of a gym, and there are a range of price plans to choose from depending on what you're looking to get out of the experience and the times of day you're able to visit.

They have lots of different types and it's nice to see many of them in such nice surroundings. There is also a café there and a rather nice gift shop. Sometimes they also have exhibitions on, it may be photography or wood turning. The staff have always been friendly when I've been there . It isn't that cheap though, so maybe just a destination for a special treat!
