They do an extraordinary job preparing the estates for sales and leverage their knowledge and expertise to hp sellers get top dollar while still providing shoppers with a great buying experience. We've been to several Gypsy Boy sales, but now we avoid them. EVERYTHING at these sales is SO overpriced! Expect to pay high retail for everything ever sold at a Gypsy Boy sale. $150 for an old, weathered (but not antique, not unique, just boring low end) lawn mower? Random glassware imprinted with swag of the past ("I Attended The Citgo Corporate Challenge of 1988!!") for $4.00 each? Half empty jars of face cream from the early 90's for $8.00 each? Crappy, dated, ugly masonite-n-formica dining table for $50? Used towels, used sheets... all at prices that aren't that much lower than what you'd pay for new. They are mighty proud of their stuff. Since they earn half of whatever they sell this stuff for, you can bet the Gypsy Boys price high, high, high. But I am not sure if that translates to much of a benefit for the family. Bottom line, you will never find any kind of deal at one of their sales, not even close. It is a small thing, but we've found their staff to be a little unpleasant as well. Not to us, but we've witnessed several interactions where it's clear that the sales people are just exhausted, or jaded, or sick of customers, and don't mind giving the impression that hosting these sales is SUCH a pain in the neck for them. We went to pay for a small item and the person at the checkout area was eating. The person ahead of us said, "Is this where I pay?" TO which the salesperson said, "Seriously? Can I just get a couple of bites in here?" Um. We're here to.... buy stuff...give you money....uhhhh. They ARE super organized, and DO know their stuff, so they get two stars. But we won't be attending any more of their "sales". read more

I moved to Denver just about a year ago and I have been going to estate sales now for about 2 years. Every week I visit sales and I'm familiar with all of the major companies who hold and run sales in the Denver area. I can say that the Gypsy Boys pricing is always fair and stuff is usually priced to sell. I'm very frugal when I comes to buying things and I will only purchase things knowing the price is right. I've been to so many sales in Denver this year and I can honestly say that the Gypsy Boys are my favorite company by far. They seem to always have high quality sales and they always have a great turn out. I feel like they price stuff fair for both parties which is extremely important in this business. I look forward to attending some of their future sales. read more

My friend used Denver Gypsy Boys Estate Sales services in March 2019. She had the sale at her Mother's house as her Mother has been living in a nursing home and her house needed to be sold to help pay for her care. The house was filled with nice things, upstairs and downstairs. The sale went well. I saw the hard copy of the inventory list, pages and pages long. LOTS of stuff to sell!! Brad (owner Denver Gypsy Boys,) even had a Blow Out Sale a few weeks after the primary one. My friend saw, after that sale, there had been lots and lots sold. According to the signed contract, my friend would her check within a month after the sale. She was to receive 50% of the sales plus what his clean up crew bought, less the cost of the roll off. When the check hadn't come within a month my friend called Brad. He claimed the check had been sent and would check on it. She had to call again and he said something happened to the check and he'd stop payment and get a re issue. She was told she'd have it in 7 - 10 business days. Six weeks later, frustrated, she called the Aurora Police Department. The policeman called Brad telling him this was an case of Elderly Fraud. She had a check for less than two thousand dollars 2 days later and....the email account for Denver Gypsy Boys had been taken down! My friend hasn't seen on the computer or a hard copy of the inventory that was sold and how much was received. This is a true case of fraud against the elderly!!! I was highly pleased with the company. I had an abundance of specific items that were overwhelmingly unorganized. The guys came in and quickly organized everything. Brad even brought in an expert to value some items that are not usual estate sale type items and all items sold. Brad the guys were professional and fun. We hired to DGB to take care of a family estate. We found them to be professional and highly efficient. They took an estate that was very difficult (overwhelming amount of possessions and odd items) and organized it exceptionally well. The sale was run professionally and was a great success due to the work done prior to the sale including organizing, advertisement, and having a large following. Again I wouldn't even give them a star. They are "gypsies" by taking your items and not selling them for what they are worth or letting your know what they priced some of the items for as they sell items to their friends before the sale even starts. Beware of this company and find an estate sales company that will provide you a list of all they items that are for sale. I picked DGB because they do Sunday sales. But that was a mistake as they decided to close up early and were rude to customers. I interviewed Prestige Estate Sales and was impressed with them and I should have gone with them. read more

Amazing Company!!! I had a awful situation and the owner Brad and his crew took over the situation and made it a great experience!! I had a friend pass and she left me POA of her mothers estate. I had to clean out a house and get it ready to sell.......... Brad and his amazing team came in and cleaned out the whole house. To top it off I did not know there was money, important papers and expensive items in that house. Brad and his team game me all the found money, legal papers and all other misc needed papers/items. I was shocked that the house was cleaned out and I had no worries. I received a check from the company in about a 2 weeks after everything and the accounting was finished. We have always enjoyed going to Gypsy Boys estate sales. When our friend needed to have an estate sale for her mother, we recommended Gypsy Boys. WHAT A MISTAKE. We sat with our friend during the initial contract meeting and everything seemed good. The house was filled with furniture, knick-knacks, bedding, toys, humongous piles of material, crystal, china, porcelain dolls, crafting material, storage containers, yard tools, yard decor, etc. Brad said that she would have a check within a month after the sale. First sale was in March and then a blowout sale a few weeks later. Then our friend contacted Brad in April about her check and was told it was to be mailed that week. A few weeks later she contacted Brad and told him that she had not received the check. Brad said he would check to see if the check had been cashed and if not cashed he would have to check with his insurance company on what to do next. Brad contacted our friend and said the first check had not been cashed and a new check would be issued and mailed. Needless to say, she did not receive a check. Here comes July and still no check. Our friend went to the police department and opened up a case for fraud against the elderly against the Gypsy Boys. The police department contacted Gypsy Boys and informed them that the case could become a felony case if our friend did not receive her check. She received a check for under $2000.00 which is far less then what Brad had indicated she would get. Gypsy Boys did not provide any documentation on the pricing of the items at the sale. So if you are thinking about using Gypsy Boys, you may want to think again. Who ever you use for a sale, protect yourself and demand a daily accounting. Does not seem that the contract with Gypsy Boys is worth the paper it is written on. Have to rate this business in order to post review. We marked 1 star but they do not deserve one star. Brad came to the house to asses and said he would email me a proposal in a couple days. A week later i called,he said he didnt forget about me it would be a couple more days. A month later, nothing. He just blew me off. With the death of my husband I did not need that. read more

I agree with the previous reviewer, most of the items are over priced for a garage sale. The staff is surly and rude. There were some tables my husband & I were interested in that did not have a price. Signs are posted that state, "Ask a sales person if a price is missing." So my husband asked a man with a black gypsy boy shirt. The salesman said, "If there is no price it's sold." He didn't even look in the direction we were pointing. The furniture was not in the "Hold" area. About 30 minutes later we were in the same room when another person asked about the price of the same furniture. The salesperson said, "Oh, let me find out for you." My husband said, "Are these for sale now?" The salesperson said, "For HIM, not for YOU." I don't know if this person had a business relationship with Gypsy Boys but it left a bad impression with us. Maybe your staff needs some customer service lessons. If they need a cigarette before they can be polite, they are in the wrong business. read more

Think twice before hiring the Denver Gypsy Boys to do your estate sale. We were drawn in by the promises on the web site and calm assurances from Brad as he toured the house before we signed the contract. Don't be fooled! What follows are direct quotes from the Denver Gypsy Boys web site followed by a description of what we experienced: "We stay in constant communication with all of our clients every step of the way and treat your home and privacy with the utmost respect." Attempts to reach Brad were met with voice mail and calls were not returned. Follow-up by email was met with terse answers or no answer at all - we went a week with no reply in one case. The communication we received was entirely inadequate. "Each sale that we conduct is advertised in the locally printed newspaper." "We build and post ads on craigslist for each and every day we are open for business." "We put up many neighborhood signs at major cross streets and close to the home." The day before our sale was set to begin, we had calls from neighbors who knew the sale was scheduled, and who couldn't find it advertised. We searched on-line The Denver Post, The Loveland Reporter Herald, and Craig's list for any sign of our estate sale and could not find any indication it was advertised. It was posted on The Denver Gypsy Boys web site and on Estate Sales.net. Friends and family who went to the sale did not see neighborhood signs that would have brought in drive by traffic. "We are well known for selling almost everything in a house. But if there are items left over when a sale has ended we have an individual that will buy everything that is left over at a greatly reduced price, these proceeds are also included into the gross sales. They will remove everything form (sic) the home, we will sweep and vacuum the house and the garage and the home will be ready to be rented or sold." This completely misrepresents our experience. First, a failure of communication by the Denver Gypsy Boys meant that the "buy out crew" did not come clear the house of unsold items as scheduled. When we returned to the house, it was full of unsold items that ultimately filled a 20 foot U-Haul truck to capacity (the crew was pushing on items to close the door of the truck). In fact, they did not take everything, two large wooden book cases, piles of books, and other items did not fit in their truck and were left behind. No one from the Denver Gypsy Boys came to sweep and vacuum and make the house ready to be sold - the house was a mess from the estate sale traffic and the "buy out crew" work. The "buy out crew" even drug heavily loaded plastic tubs across a newly refinished wood floor and marred the finish. "When you hire the Gypsy Boys you get more money for your estate as well as the piece (sic) of mind that EVERYTHING will be taken care of by true professionals who take pride in their work and treat your home and belongings with the respect and care they deserve." As to the treating your home and belongings with respect - forget that. I returned to the house the evening before we were told the Denver Gypsy Boys would be clear of the house and found trash bags of garbage and smelly take out boxes of food in the middle of the living room, a Krispy Kreme donut box in the middle of the dining room floor, and the beautiful Scandinavian dining table not sold (it had been used to display items and the finish had been scratched by the displays). Then the "buy out crew" used a garage trash can to haul books that hadn't sold to the garage and dump them on the garage floor, and other unsold items were simply bundled into blankets or sheets and hauled to the garage. Do not use this company. Look at all the reviews below. If you are one of his preferred buyers you get items for cheap and Brad Busby takes them from the house to give to them before the sale. Very Bad business ethics involving negligence and dishonesty. Brad Busby was only one in house for many hours of our estate sale. He was unprofessional and very rude to customers causing them to leave and not come back resulting in drastically reduced sales. When sale was over he left as fast as he could leaving over 60 percent of inventory unsold and his buyout agents pay less than half a cent on the dollar, of which Gypsy Boys takes 40% of the pathetic buyout offer! Gypsy Boys does not show any categorized breakdown like other quality, prestigious estate sale companies provide letting you know about your sale. His website is impressive; unfortunately it is deceptive as he leads you to believe something that isn't entirely accurate. It took almost a month to get a check from him after several calls/texts. He promised to give me prices of certain items before the sale but didn't provide them till after the sale started as he had them already sold them to his preferred buyers. He is negligent in handling the inventory - uses masking tape on many items which causes damage and are unsaleable, doesn't clean any items as stated, any instruction manuals given to him to be placed with items for sale he just leaves them in a bin, he prices items for his preferred buyers low but to others it is high, etc. Brad Busby just wants to make some quick fast money and then he is off to the next client. read more

I had seen that the Denver Gypsy Boys were organizing an estate sale at a shop in Denver where I had been an on-line customer for many years. When I asked them a legitimate question by e-mail about an item that might still be available after the sale had ended, I was given a real nasty, smart Alec reply by one of their staff members. I have never dealt with these people before but I can tell you one thing - based on his reply, I would never recommend these people to anyone, no matter how desperate someone might be to organize an estate sale in the Denver area. His comment was very jaded and blasé so perhaps he should think about pursuing some other career. Definitely not a people person! read more
