Do. Not. Go. Here. I was directed to DII by Western Orthopedics - big mistake. I had an MRI 6 months ago, was forced to pay up front because my "insurance wouldn't cover it." I paid. Insurance ALSO paid. I had to call and ask for a reconciliation and refund. I have been calling to check in regularly and still have not received my money back. Zero complaints about the technician but the billing process has been a nightmare. Not worth it. HERE'S THE DEAL I'll update this to a one star review if everything I write here doesn't pan out, but it seems as though all of these one star reviews are having the same problems that could have been headed off. A quick note about the facility itself: Do you want to save a few hundred bucks on your imaging? Find the sense that you're trusting your medical imaging to a poorly regulated, former communist bloc 'turn and burn' style business run by a guy who looks like he's been awake 30 hours on caffeine and cigarettes somewhat charming? Honestly, I do, and that dude is a trip to talk to. But if you haven't gone into a medical facility outside of North America or Europe you might find this place uncomfortable. This is not a place for excellent customer service, for expensive artwork in the lobby, etc. It also has shitty billing. It may be worth your while to avoid this place if a few hundred bucks isn't worth that to you. In terms of the billing, many reviews are mentioning that they paid out of pocket like I did. It would have been about $150 more for me to go through insurance and I'm nowhere close to hitting my deductible. If you choose to go this route, here's what you should keep in mind. 1. DON'T complete any insurance paperwork. There will be some in the standard stack of paperwork they give you but why provide it if you're not using it? They can't accidentally also run through insurance if they don't have that information. 2. You will complete a document stating how much you owe and how much you might pay as part of a payment plan. KEEP THAT DOCUMENT. Mine also mentions that it is an estimated amount...until they have insurance review it. If insurance doesn't review it, there should be no reason that this amount should change. This document is countersigned by the secretary. 3. I received a bill from the third party they have doing their billing for about 1k more than I agreed to. Did I pay that? HELL NO. Do not hand your cash over if you know it's wrong. I called this billing co and they explained that when payments are made without insurance, that lower amount is an adjustment made at the facility from what the usual amount is (probably because the Insurance Company presets the amounts higher so that they can recoup some of the cost from you). The third party billing place said that they would contact the facility to confirm that there should have been an adjustment on the numbers they sent to billing. Billing will be calling me back next week to (hopefully) confirm this. Moral of the story: -Don't hand over insurance paperwork if you're not using insurance. -Keep the contract that DII gives you at the time of service. -When you get a bigger bill just call the billing company and explain the adjustment. -In general in life, don't hand over your money just because you get an official looking piece of paper. Do the billing issues suck? Sure, but they suck way more if you've already handed your money over and need to now get it back. Two stars because this place is cheap and has that quaint 'we run our MRI machines off a diesel generator' feel, but it'll drop to one star if I get yanked around by billing any more than I have been. read more

Another billing issue... When I needed to have an MRI of my brain completed, I did my research for the best deal. I found that deal at another location however had to wait longer for the appointment. DII really wanted my business and negotiated a $300.00 discount to keep it, they could also see me 2 days later. At check in I paid for a portion of the service up front. I did not get a balance due invoice at this time as they stated they would have to bill my insurance first. I explained my negotiated rate, but the receptionist played coy. She handed me my check in paper work and on that paper work with my signature, I MADE A NOTE OF THE QUOTED PRICE! I listed the details, who quoted it, etc.. Fast-forward - I receive my bill and the quoted amount was not honored, the bill was for the full amount. I explained this to the billing department. I also explained my very detailed note that she would find in my chart. She stated she would pull my chart and look into. She did just that, and indeed there was my note. She did honor it. What's disappointing is the process I had to go thru. Health issues make you feel vulnerable enough, this is just insult to injury. read more

So an update.. It is now 12/12/17 and they have yet to return any of my calls. The people in their Broadway office (Ashly and Nicole) pretend to be concerned and helpful, but then they transfer me to the office "up north" where billing is never available to speak with me. They have not returned any calls since my first post. I am on hold now with them now.. So far the hold is 9 minutes. This is fraud. read more

If you're reading this review, you're probably in the same boat as many of the reviewers here. DII charged you an upfront fee at the point of service then billed your insurance afterward and, surprise surprise, they overcharged you and owe you a refund that is impossible to get from them. They give you a number to their third party billing service who can confirm you are owed money, but tell you it takes a long time to process. You keep calling until they direct you to contact DII directly. You call the central office and they tell you the north office handles the billing. You call the north office and the person who handles the refunds is never available or always out of the office. You leave message after message with someone who tells you they will contact you when they have more information. They never get back to you. I'm going on 7 months now without my refund. After some research, it appears my only options are to demand a refund in person (which I doubt will be successful), send a letter via certified mail that serves as official correspondence of a refund request and threaten legal action, or file a complaint with the Attorney General's office. I have no doubt I will end up doing all three. However, it appears that DII has been bought out and a new company, SimonMed Imaging, and maybe I'll have better luck with them. Only because 0 stars is not an option. Technically it went fine. I too was charged upfront "a small fee" of $699. I paid it, not knowing exactly what my insurance required. My insurance paid quickly and I am owed a refund of $549. The billing department has acknowledged that I have a credit on my account, but that it 'takes a while' to issue a refund. I've called numerous times to be told 'the billing department will call me back'. They don't call you back and they are in no hurry to refund my money. It's been 5 months now, and I'm still calling and waiting. read more

As the other lady said depending on pre-auth from you insurance they may or may not take your pictures (MRI/CTs) when I arrived the receptionist says can I help you? Um yes you can I have an appointment....She was rude. I was asked to pay upfront, my insurance also paid. It's been 4 months, and I haven't received my refund. Every time, I call them, they say they'll call me back , and it hasn't happened yet. I have probably called them like 50 times. They have nothing to tell you. This place is a fraud. Please do not go here if you value your money and time. There are many other good imaging centers you can go to in Denver. Avoid this place at all cost. I had a series of X rays completed a few months ago ordered by my doctor. Upon my follow up doctor's visit, my doctor began asking me why I hadn't mentioned I was in an accident and had a serious back surgery - that's because that was not me... Denver Integrated Imaging gave my doctor the wrong results for another patient. That's a pretty significant mistake. I had to return to Denver Integrated Imaging and return my xray films for the radiologist to correctly read my results and had another series of xrays done since they did the wrong set the first time. I called to retrieve my films and they have lost my films, claiming I took them which is absolutely 100% not true. I have requested that they either provide me with the films paid for or refund the money paid for them, neither of which has been done. In addition, the second set of xrays I had completed were supposed to be free of charge since they made a mistake, yet Denver Integrated Imaging proceeded to charge my insurance company for the service. Furthermore, the technician made inappropriate and unprofessional remarks concerning my doctor being a "quack" since he requested a different set when they did the first set incorrectly according to his instructions. Even if he didn't agree with the doctor's request, it is inappropriate to communicate disgruntled feelings to the patient. They have proven they are unprofessional and disorganized and truly should be reevaluated by the medical industry for their lack of protocol and violation of HIPPA practices concerning patient privacy. read more

I interviewed for a "sales position" with these folks and there is no way I would tarnish my exceptional reputation in sales to work with this company. I met with owner, Don Ballard, who has obviously endured many hard punches in this industry. He spoke disparigling about current and past sales professionals, which is ALWAYS a very bad sign when interviewing. When I mentioned to him that there is a wealth and plethora of bad reviews about his company, he seemed to want to just shrug it off and immediately went on the defense about a competitor in Cherry Creek. Here's where this interview went from bad to worse; Mr. Ballard acknoledged that billing was a huge problem due to a multitude of reasons, some of which were plausible, however, it's so bad that he has opted to send his customer service overseas, which made my stomach curdle! read more

The staff at the office were good, they told what was happening and how it was going to happen. My problem is with the billing department, and accounting department which as a whole seems delinquent. Had MRI over two months ago, overpaid and now waiting for refund from accounting department. They received ins payment 1 month ago, and the refund process is just started. Avoid this company!!! We are in the same situation as so many other reviewers. Because, for some reason, they are listed as an "in-network" healthcare provider by Cigna, my husband was referred to them for an MRI on January 5. Not only did Denver Integrated Imaging not send the MRI results to the referring doctor but, four months later, they still owe us a reimbursement check for nearly $200 in overpayment after the claim was processed by our insurance company. On March 6, they acknowledged the credit on our account and confirmed that they would process the reimbursement but we have yet to receive a check and their billing department is not returning our phone calls. A quick online search of Denver Integrated Imaging reveals that our complaint is not unique, including multiple complaints for billing issues with BBB. We are surprised at the level of unprofessionalism in a company to which we were directed by our health insurance company (thanks a lot Cigna!!!). read more

Please read all negative reviews and trust your gut NOT TO GO THERE. Let them peacefully go out of business and stop wasting our time and $$$. I have to slap myself that did exactly the opposite... Communication and scheduling was awful. First they they called me at 7:40 PM a night before my appointment, and said that I have to come 2 hours earlier "because there must be a radiologist present" to have my MRI done (yeah, you should plan for one when scheduling MRI first time). I was able to change my plans next day, called them to confirm, beat all the traffic and... no, I didn't have the service. They had me drive 2 hours back and forth in traffic only to enlighten me upon my arrival that my co-pay for MRI was going to be as if it was an emergency room ($150 vs. typical $20 co-pay). "That's because we are an out-patient facility", Sarah explained as I stared at her, my eyebrows raised. Like she or Kem (not sure if I spell the other name right) or Kristina didn't know about that when they had me on the phone couple hours earlier and a day before. I totally understand that there are weird things between insurance companies and providers (I did MRI with someone else previously and the co-pay was just fine). I probably should have done my homework and verified co-pay with my insurance myself. However this is exactly what administration staff is paid for in these places - to remove that burden from their clients. Will I ever use Denver Integrated Imaging? NO! read more

After reading everybody else's review I feel a little relieved to know that I am not the only one having billing issues with this fraudulent, deceptive business. I went in for a CT scan in April 2018 at the South Denver location (at the request of Cigna who took me away from going to my own doctor's office to purportedly save money). The woman at the front desk stated that Cigna told them to collect $315 from me. I paid this amount (like a fool) and had my CT scan. The technician was awesome and it is terrible that she works for such a crooked operation. A few weeks later, Cigna posted my Explanation of Benefit (EOB). The EOB indicated that Cigna and DII agreed upon a cost of $422.10. Cigna paid DII (through their biller, MedSolutions, Inc) $382.10! This left me an amount of only $40 out of pocket for this CT Scan. When I called the South office regarding the $275 overage ($315-$40 = $275), the lady at the front desk told me to call MedSolutions. I did and was told 7-10 business days for a refund. On the 10th day I called MedSolutions and was told it would take 2 months for a refund! July 22 I called MedSoltuions and still no refund. At this point I contacted Cigna and we did a three way call with DII. Somehow I got transferred to the North location and mysteriously the woman in charge of this is never around to take calls. Four weeks have gone by and still no response. Note: I tried to initiate a dispute/charge back with USAA but this was denied by Visa because my EOB showed MedSolutions but the charge on my card was South Denver Integrated Imagining. Because of this discrepancy, Visa would not accept the dispute! I have also filed a BBB complaint to which DII has completely ignored. They rely on the fact that we trust our insurance and medical providers to go where they tell us without checking them out first. RUN don't walk away from this place! read more

The location I'm writing this review for is the South location (14251 E Fremont Ave, Centennial CO 80112) I am only giving 1 star because I have to give something otherwise this facility would not be getting any stars. Please also note that I have withheld names in this review, however, I do have the names for the parties pertaining to this review. My experience at this location was horrendous - I received a call hours before my appointment from L at the front desk. She did not have interpersonal skills at all, she was ill-mannered and short while speaking with me - this conversation started out confirming that I had an appointment today and then immediately went into her advising me I would owe the full amount of $600 at the time of service. I became irritated and explained to her that I did not have that money. I also explained that I was previously told the price was $575 by another representative yesterday - per L the $575 price is only for self-pay patients but if you have insurance the contracted price is $600. As if that wasn't enough to be frustrating she said they could work with people on making payments if I do not have the $600 today (which sounds like what other medical offices I've dealt with in the past have done) and she made no indication on how the payment arrangement would work. When I arrived at the office, she was again short and rude with her responses to me. I could also hear other staff members in the back room talking badly about other customers they had dealt with earlier in the day - extremely unprofessional in my opinion. When it came time to discuss payment I advised her I could make payments and could make a payment of $50 today - that was unacceptable to her. She stated the minimum they would accept for a down payment is $350. She was again advised I did not have that kind of money right now and she stated she would call her manager. The call started at the front desk but once the manager answered the phone she asked her manager to hold so she could take the call in the back office. When L returned she advised that the district manager, M, advised she would accept no less than the $350 I was previously advised. At that point I requested my paperwork back and the order from my doctor's office so that I could go to another imaging facility that I had used in the past and which does allow payments to be made in order to assist their patients financially. The only time L was positive and said 'Thank You' was when I was leaving the office after this whole ordeal. I will also be calling my doctor's office to advise them about this experience so that they can hopefully save other patients from this kind of ill-mannered treatment by Denver Integrated Imaging South. Again, I cannot speak for the North or Central locations but I would not recommend the South location to anyone. read more

How is this place allowed to be open? The whole thing seems fishy and their obvious mismanagement of patient funds is probably illegal. This place should no longer be referred to by doctors (I even called my doctor's office to request they either no longer use this facility or at least warn patients NOT to pay up front. I suggest all other patients who had issues also notify their referring doctors). Along with literally every other reviewer, I was charged a full upfront fee ($300) for an MRI requested by my doctor. I went in for the MRI an hour after the doctor visit so I didn't have time to find out the actual cost from my insurance. I called a few weeks later and they said I should have been charged $20; and therefore should automatically receive a refund in 2-3 weeks. Over the following months, I have had multiple phone conversations with my insurance provider (they've been wonderful) and the absolutely HORRENDOUS and CLUELESS employees that work at this dump. My insurance provider admitted that they were completely baffled by how rude and mismanaged this place is. It shouldn't even be my responsibility or my insurance to hound DII, as they are legally required to refund my payment since they have received double payment of my service (mine and insurance). I'm almost at the 6-month mark and have yet to receive my refund. I called again today for the 5th time and they said "it looks like it is currently being processed." Are you kidding me, 6 months late, after hounding you? I probably won't receive my refund for a few more months given how the last 6 months have been. read more

As previously stated, make sure insurance doesn't cover the procedure prior to paying at the window. I was billed on the day of the scan for the full amount. Six months after the scan I realized insurance paid in full. Oops... Don't you think accounting would discover the double-billing by then? While the actual imaging process was good, the billing office severely lacks initiative and efficiency. I paid up front for my portion of the cost, and I've been trying to get my money back for nearly 3 months after my insurance paid from my HRA. I will never use DII again. Left 3 vm at Billing. Never a returned call. When I did speak to a person, I never received a straightforward response. Supervisor was never in. Refund is promised for this week, but only because I started asking what agency governs them to file a complaint. Interesting that they don't know to which agency they're accountable. read more

These people need to get there stuff together!!! Billing, like everyone else has stated, is HORRIBLE - It took me over a month and way too many calls, messages, etc. to get a copy of my detailed receipt for my MRI. As far as the MRI itself - the technician was nice enough, but when the Dr. received the MRI summary from Denver Integrated Imaging, it completely missed addressing my primary reason for the MRI - we were trying to find out if my PCL was torn. From the images it was torn, but the summary didn't even mention it. Not to mention that the Dr. was mystified by some of the images they provided. Dr. said she was going to request the MRI be re-read, don't know if she did but, for the price you pay out of pocket, even with insurance, the service is very poor!!! read more

I had an MRI here recently and it was the best experience. They worked with me on my deductible, with a reasonable payment plan. All of the employees were extremely professional and treated me kindly. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of any diagnostic imaging. read more

I called prior to setting up an appointment to make sure they took my insurance, I was told they did and I would have a smal upfront payment which I paid the day of my visit. I find out weeks later that they DO NOT take my insurance, and was sent a bill for $2,000. The billing department is absolutely rude, and unprofessional. We arrived on time to an appt for an MRI, only to wait for 45 minutes after our scheduled appt time to be seen. The entire time we waited we had to listen to the front desk receptionist talk poorly about her other coworkers. I paid upfront because they insisted that it wasn't billable to my insurance company. When we contacted the insurance company to get reimbursed from our HRA account we were told they in fact DID bill the insurance company, and the amount billed to our HRA account was almost $200 MORE than they collected from me. So we've now paid for the same services twice. Judging by other reviews, this is a common practice for this company and I'll be lucky to ever get the billing issues corrected and be reimbursed. The billing department is unprofessional, disorganized and completely incompetent. As others have stated, DO NOT pay in full if there is any question you will be owed a refund. My insurance company issued a payment 2 weeks after I had paid in full for the service. 3 months and numerous phone calls later, the only information they ever seem to be able to give me is an exact notation of how many times I've called to check on the status of the refund I'm owed. The explanation is constantly that they're understaffed, and they can't give any kind of timeframe as to when they'll resolve anything for you. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. read more

I have had absolutely awful experiences here! I was scheduled to get my final MRI here for an tumor in my ankle and they told me it would $900 even though it has been $300 every other time and my insurance has not changed. I had to cancel and appointment with my specialist which takes over a month to get a new appointment to try to sort it out. Finally they said it would only be $600 and that the women who told me $900 was new and not trained. I asked them to call my insurance company because I knew it should only be $300. They said the did but lied about it. I talked to my insurance and they confirmed that it should have only been $300. During my appointment the tech complained to me about everyone working there being incompetent and that he didn't get paid enough. I have talked to the billing department 6 times and have still not seen the $300 that was overcharged even though DII and my insurance company has confirmed I am owed this money. When I called today the receptionist told me that she couldn't transfer me to billing because she was new and didn't know how, she was also extremely rude about everything. I am beyond frustrated and still out my $300. It has been over three months! This is not how people should be treated especially when going thought sensitive issues requiring medical scans. I implore anyone thinking about going here to look elsewhere where you can trust the competence, and word of the staff and be treated with respect. read more
