Will was great at communicating with us throughout the wedding process. He had a few meetings with us to figure out what style of pictures we were most interested in and to come up with a timeline/ locations for bridal party pictures around the city. On our wedding day, he was extremely organized and had a team of photographers organized to capture every shot we wanted. He had great ideas for pictures downtown and in Lincoln Park. The day after the wedding, he gave us about 15 amazing shots to give us a taste of what was yet to come! Will is a really great guy and was so easy to get along with. Being the bride, I figured I wanted my photographer to have a great personality since I knew I would be hanging out with him all day! He has a unique eye for lighting, and his ability to capture stunning images of people and their environment is impressive. We were also amazed by his ability to efficiently handle large group photos (often including 20-30 people). Overall we are thrilled with the quality of our photos and had a very positive experience working with Travis. Our only major complaint is that at our reception, only guests who were dancing were photographed. Since we had a large outdoor balcony where many (especially older) guests went to chat, this meant that over half of our guests were not in any candid reception photographs. Additionally, we had a large fire pit and s'more making station on the patio, and there was only one photo from that (when then bride was roasting a marshmallow) - again, it's a really nice photo, we just wish there were more of the other guests who were out there. We enjoyed sharing the reception photos with our friends and family (there were some great images of those who danced), and wish we had photos to share with everyone. Aside from that issue, we have to note that Travis really went above and beyond in many ways. We were able to do our engagement photos in Chicago (where we lived at the time) while our wedding was in Michigan, and Travis traveled at no extra cost. He arrived early and came to our rehearsal to scope out the venue in advance to make sure he was prepared for the day of (again, at no extra cost). He even navigated a last-minute curveball when a family member decided to setup video recording of our ceremony, discussing with him in advance where to setup so that he would not be in the background of any photos. As noted above, he and Justin (second photographer) handled the group photos with impressive efficiency. Based on our experiences, we would strongly recommend Wasabi Photography!

We had the honor of having Andrew photograph our wedding weekend in May. He started off with the Chinese rehearsal dinner at Yank Sing and also photographed our Wedding day which comprised of a morning "reveal" shoot, Chinese wedding tea ceremony, Persian Aghd and reception at the Golden Gate Club. Does that sound like a lot of work....YES! Andrew, did it all with a nice demeanor and a smile on his face, we really could not have asked for more. While I was interviewing many photographers, my in-laws and parents were a little concerned that certain moments and shots would not be captured by someone who may not be as familiar with both cultures, but after I met Andrew I didn't think anymore of it. I looked at his portfolio and knew that I could trust his style and eye for capturing the important moments. In fact I was reminded by my family to send him a sheet of must not miss moments, but of course with everything going on I had forgotten, no worries, Andrew got them all and even MORE than we could of thought. He truly captured the essence of our wedding and told a beautiful story of love, joy, laughter, celebration, family and culture all preserved within these photos. I'm masc and was really hesitant to do it because I didn't think they would portray my gender in a way I would be comfortable, and I was right, they did not. I was in the best shape of my life and wanted to see my abs and arms highlighted in the photos, and they were not. Everyone was very nice and professional, but the whole experience was very cookie cutter. I e seen other people's boudoir photos from here and it's the same makeup, sets, poses, etc. If you want the same typical soccer mom newborn/quince/wedding/ even boudoir photos everyone gets, sure, this place is great. But if you're weird and not trying to celebrate the typical things people get photos for, or you're trans or gender non-conforming, I would go somewhere else.

And, of course, there was the photos themselves (example included). Each time we sat down to look at the most recent batch of photos, I was blown away by their quality. Garret included an array of different photos, from LinkedIn banners to stock headshots to action photos, and I can use them for everything. One is on my LinkedIn profile (plus the banner!), one is on an article I wrote for an industry publication, and three are already framed in my grandma's living room.
