I hired Dependable Concrete to replace my front steps. I couldn't be at my house for the estimate but it was not a problem for them, he came out and took all the information he needed while I was away. The quite he gave me was literally $1000 below other companies estimates. The day of the demolition he showed up with his crew and said hello and promptly went to work on the steps. The next day was rained out but the following day he was here bright and early and started working on the cement part of the job. When the job was done they did a great job of cleaning up and making sure everything was just how I had it before. He told me that it would take 2 days and sure enough that what it took. I posted a review back in 2021 when the first job was finished. I wish I had read the other reviews before I hired them. My patio developed cracks, it discolored, but Vince promised me he'd fix it when the weather was warmer and that he'd apply a coat of glaze. We believed him (we'd had that good experience, right?) and had him do a patio extension for us when it got warmer. That's when the wheels came off the bus. The two surfaces are side by side, but he made the new patio white - which didn't match the old one. He still hadn't done a glaze, but now he had to power wash first. His crew didn't move some of the furniture on the patio - they just kind of went around it - and they left large areas still showing lots of dirt. Vince convinced us we should just go ahead and glaze it because it would cover everything. They applied the glaze over the still-dirty patios. Whatever it was they used for a glaze was so slick that even our dogs couldn't walk without sliding. Vince came out, looked at everything and promised to come back and make everything right. That was last winter. I'm looking into small claims court. read more

I had an estimate done on March 19th. They were running late, but did notify me, so I appreciated that. Once the contractor had arrived, he proceeded to walk the property with me to discuss what I might want done specifically, relative to my inquiry...steps, sidewalk and possible driveway. Not being familiar with all the possibilities, i.e. standard measurements for steps, driveways, etc., I had a lot of questions and did request varied estimates. I felt as though the contractor was somewhat dismissive in his demeanor. However, I still would have liked the estimate(s)....which I am still waiting for despite having texted, called (and left a message, and emailed. In all my experiences with contractors, I have received estimates back within 24-48 hours. Additionally, in my experiences with contractors, when I have contacted them, they have responded within 24-48 hours. I am extremely disappointed with this contractor, hence the one star rating. read more

From estimate to the final bill, Vince and his crew were consummate professionals. I remarked that I feel like we traveled back to a time when people took real pride in their work. They cleaned as they went; they communicated when they had a weather delay; they treated our patio furniture as if it was theirs, moving it around with great care and protecting it from any of their work. Each person on the crew (and it's a large crew!) worked with a dedication to perfection that I haven't seen in a very long time. I honestly can't say enough good about this company. The concrete did not hold up very well. Only a few weeks after the job there was major staining and an cracks. It's a shame cause we really thought they were professional and respectful. Sent the details about our job around 11am, had an immediate estimate, paid the online invoice shortly thereafter, and the work was completed by 4pm that day! Hired this company to come out and do my front steps and I am so pleased. The weather has been really sunny so I figured now would be a good time to get it done. Of course the day they came to do it, it rains!!! They were so professional though. They scheduled me for later in the week (Friday) and came back on time as scheduled. Now that everything has dried up there aren't any cracks or chipping and everything looks amazing. I should also mention that Im a new homeowner who doesn't have a lot of experience with contractors. Still cannot get in contact with Vince! I don't know what kind of system he has but it's not working. By the looks of the other honest reviews, they pretty much hit it on the nail. I've been trying to contact him for weeks but Vince is not returning any of my messages. He actually hung up on me on two occasions because he recognized my voice. His assistant(?), Marisol, also hung up on me numerous times and ignores my call. I'm trying to get in contact with him to have my property repaired AGAIN (third time). The product he uses is so cheap and will start to peel, chip and crack within a month. Is this business closed or something? I'm thinking about taking the next steps with legal action. Update 3/29/18 Not much to update since this company still has not responded to any forms of communication. I looked on BBB and saw that this company has 5 complaints. Dependable did a great job replacing my front steps. I had someone cut the old steps out but they never showed to finish the job. I was afraid someone could get hurt on my property, so began to look for someone that can form and pour the steps. While on yelp I saw this company and I only negatives I saw was not because of work, but for no show so I decided to take a chance and I'm glad I did. They were very professional and finish the job very quickly. Will use dependable in the future thank you. Update:11/24/2014 About a month ago I noticed that on the top step where it connects with the porch there is a hairline crack, so I call Vincent but he did not answer so I left a message. The work that was performed came with a warranty and I did not want to wait until it started to snow because salting voids the warranty. He never returned my call, so I called him again a week after first call and he answered and he told me that he was going to come and check it out. Now over two weeks have passed and I'm not sure if he came, but no work was done and he has not gotten back to me. I'm not hard to please but disappointed that he has not gotten back to me. I went online and found Dependable concrete looking at their work online was exactly what I wanted so I hired them they came out Vince was very nice I paid my money and also gave them a good review and Angie's List my steps didn't get through the first winter before they started cracking I called Vince to come out he stated it has to be warm when they came out my warranty was up which it was nice enough to repair the steps again the first winter after the steps was repaired again they there steps was repaired again they started cracking and coming apart I call Vincent there was no answer when I did get in touch with him he was rude but stated he will be coming out in the spring never showed up call them again didn't answer my calls where not returned I gave them a bad review to Angie's List now my steps is just sitting cracked up and getting worse by waiting for this company trying to be nice and give them the benefit of the doubt are going through this process I cannot take legal action because of the statute of limitations I'm sorry it's very hard for me to give this company a star rating I am not happy at all read more

We just had a great experience with this company. We needed our front walkway and patio replaced. Dependable came out very quickly for an estimate after I called them, provided the written estimate within a day and we were on their books within a week for the job. Marisol was very professional and gave us a lot of notice when they needed to push us back a day because of excessive rain in the region. I really appreciated the notice and understand their work is weather dependent. Their team was very friendly, professional and clean. Even after reading several reviews regarding their less than stellar customer service I decided to call them for an estimate. After making an appointment and taking time off of work on a Thursday, I received a call informing me that the estimator was stuck at a job site and would not be available until Saturday. I rescheduled the appointment and cancelled my Saturday morning to wait for them to arrive only to be greeted with an email an hour before my appointment informing me that my location was "Too far" and that they would not be able to do the job. I recently contacted Dependable Concrete after viewing pictures and reading several reviews and decided to schedule an estimate for some brick and stone pointing. I also wanted to inquire on some additional concrete basement flooring work. Here is what I encountered, called on a Wednesday to schedule an appointment on Saturday for 10:00 am. When Saturday morning rolls around I stopped what I was doing to meet the contractor at my residence as agreed at 10 am. After patiently waiting 20 minutes I decided to call to check on his whereabouts since I had not received a call about anyone running late. Well when he answered (can't remember his name) I asked what happened to our 10 am appointment, response oh I thought it was for 10:30, I said no it is for 10 am but besides all that are you near by or something since you didn't call me about being late. Then I received an unfortunate response of well I had many estimates this morning and I apologize for the inconvenience. I said wow this is unbelievable that this individual did not even have the professionalism or courtesy to call to reschedule. I was so disappointed with this company I would not even waste my time calling back to have any work done on my residence. Poor customer service, can not comment on their work because they did not even show up for an appointment. This company owner, Vincent Douglas, is very unprofessional and does not represent what his company stands for "DEPENDABLE". I had this company do some concrete work in my basement. It was the understanding that he would be doing the job himself. He sent his staff out to do the job which was done incorrectly. I followed up with Mr. Douglas after the job was done by his company to express my disappointment with the job. Mr. Douglas did not return any phone calls until a week later. When Mr. Douglas came to assess the work of his staff he agreed that the work was done improperly. Mr. Douglas assured me that he would personally redue the job that was done incorrectly and return within two weeks. Well, Mr. Douglas did not show up nor did he return my phone calls. It was a month later in which Mr. Douglas contacted me after numerous attempts (of me trying to contact him). Once again Mr. Douglas did not return to do the job himself as promised, but sent another team of his staff to go over the existing work that was done incorrect originally. And on top of that he only corrected part of the job that was done incorrectly.....(who does that??).... Very disappointing!!. This time when new staff arrived they advised me that they were not prepared to do the job because one of the workers did not know how to do a specific skill for this type of work. The contractor advised me that he was to only repair part of the work per Mr. Douglas and not the entire work that was previously done by Mr. Douglas. This company is a no star rating from me. At first I felt like I made an informed decision. Vincent came promptly...gave me an estimate right away and I decided to go with this company. There were some issues and he came to talk with me and I thought this was over...Soon after, the concrete started to flake....and now is falling apart and looks worse than any other home on my block. I have been emailing him for over one and a half years....no response.. I have called many times...no response. I have a warranty that needed to be honored and that has not been the case. We called this company in mid june to do a quote to level out our basement. From their website they seem like they are hard working, quality, and professional but they simply aren't. The guy came out to do the quote and told us the job would cost pennies, be finished quickly and was overall an easy job to complete, would not take more than 2-3 days. He said he would have the quote emailed to us that same night. However, this guy never emailed us back and began ignoring our calls and emails. He was more interested in looking around our house and asking questions about our dog! I would NEVER let anyone from this company into my house ever again because they can't possibly be a legit company and are extremely unprofessional.
