My wife and I have lived in this apartment complex for almost 2 years now and we love our…read moreapartment! The layout is great, there's a huge island in the kitchen, and all the appliances work perfectly. We have never had any electrical problem other than lights going out every now and then, for which the maintenance crew generally responds to quickly. There are only a few things that I would would be improved on in the complex, first of which is the dumpster situation. Although there are signs posted for residents to not throw furniture away in the dumpster area, many still fail to read them/don't care and just dump their furniture anyways. This creates a block where others can't reach the dumpster and they just leave their trash bags at the entrance. A possible way to fix having copious amounts of furniture laying around is to have cameras installed that can monitor the area so managers can take action to clear out the debris or contact the residents responsible. The second thing I would like to see improvement on is the gate situation. Although having gates is a privilege, they regularly break (except recently, so hopefully I don't jinx it), and when they do they're out for weeks. Additionally, when having visitors come to the complex they're required to type in a code that calls a single phone. This is normally fine except for when the person with that phone is busy elsewhere. A nice option would be to have a code that is regularly changed that is stated in a weekly (or monthly) email for people to use to enter (especially if you forget your key card!). Aside from these minor complaints, this complex really is great. Packages are delivered to the front desk/your door, and you can feel secure knowing that they're locked away until you get there or the gate at the front of the complex is preventing outside people from stealing it. The pool is very nice and the grills are used frequently in the summer, and the dog park is great for letting your dog run around. The workout room is a little small and lacking variety, but there isn't much room to bring in new equipment so that's understandable. For the price point, however, this complex is awesome.

When getting the apartment we were trying to get on the lower pricing bracket which at the time was $720 a month after running the numbers the staff found we made $20 more annually then what was allowed on the lower bracket so we started paying $920 a month. We have had two more children since we moved in making us a 6 person family. Moving out of Shenandoah was difficult as they give you notice of when you are supposed to move out and want to know immediately if you are going to stay or not. Each year the paperwork said we had a month to decide but John (manager) said they needed an answer by the end of the week or else. While living here they say they have a park and a swimming pool. The swimming pool is only open Monday through Friday until 5pm so if you have a normal day job you don't have a pool. the park was always dangerous to use because the slides and plastic window on the park were busted and had sharp plastic so if you go down the slide you could cut yourself. Needless to say we were unable to use there amenities. On multiple occasions we reached out about the park as we had four kids and they just keep saying they are going to fix it soon. Three years later and still nothing. Also there are a lot of unmarked and uncovered holes around the property that both me and my children have twisted our ankles in on multiple occasions. As far as safety there have been multiple fires and a man was shot due to a drug deal gone bad. We socialized with other parents but there are a lot of drugs in the neighborhood. Also at night people not from the neighborhood show up to the swings and have offered drugs to me and my wife on separate occasions. My car window was also shot twice as have many others in the neighborhood. As far as noise goes the movie theater has a bar and you can hear the awful sting cover bands from inside the house. Many occasions I walked around the neighborhood in order to find the neighbor blaring music to ask to turn it down, but eventually it just became the norm. Upfront John (Manager) seems like an okay guy. He always complimented us on being his best tenets. We left and did not get our deposit back instead we got a bill for $1600.00. Yay we finally moved out but I was not expecting to have to pay to leave. The staff complains about how they are treated and it shows as they have gone through many maintained men and for a long time they only had a trainee as the maintenance man. We didn't have carpet in our walk in closet for over two months at one point when the water heater was overflowing into our house and our garage door was broken from the start, as well as many other issues that either weren't resolved or were not resolved in a timely manor. Oh one more thing our rent went up $20 a month every year so keep that in mind. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND LIVING HERE TO ANYONE
