I miss Vienna terribly and a big part of my missing goes to the delicious desserts in Vienna style…read more I don't know if Felber is kind of the Panera Bread here in the US or not, but it's such a great chain store to try Vienna bakeries and coffee. Shamelessly, I tried every type of cakes here during my very short stay in Vienna (oh year, I did go there everyday...) All delicious and the raspberry mousse and chestnuts cake are the must-haves. Staff were very friendly too!

Basically, this is like a bakery with a wide offer in fresh breads (even bio, vegan or gluten-free) and a lot of pastries (very good croissants!), but also with a café part. You can seat indoors (nice and comfortable, with blankets and stools) and outdoors for all those who likes getting some fresh air! :) You can order there your cold or warm drinks, and something to eat; or simply get take-away. They have several breakfast menus, adapted to any appetite size, with at least a warm drink and a pastry. They also make some fresh squeezed orange juice as you order it! For lunch, they have a lots of fresh-made sandwiches, snacks and salads. I warmly recommend their salads actually: they are quite generous, tasty, healthy of course, and included in the price you get the small bread (=Weckerl) of your choice!

Stopped into this bakery a couple of times, as it was nearby Hotel Indigo. It's a small little shop…read morethat is pretty much a grab and go kinda situation. On the first visit I tried the almond croissant, and on the second visit I tried another almond croissant and a pre-prepared roast beef sandwich. The almond croissants were small, quite dry, and not full of much filling. While also small, the roast beef sandwich might have been okay, if not for the undisclosed curry mustard on it. I get it, curry mustard is quite popular here, but I didn't care for it. Not to mention, the croissants were a bit expensive given they were ~ over 4.5 euros. If not for the proximity to the hotel, I probably wouldn't have returned for a second visit. Service was just fine. Thanks.

Featuring clean lines and modern design across locations, each bathed in light with a larger menu found at the now-expanded original, Felzl focuses on locally grown Grains and Produce including Pielachtal Wheat and Styrian Seeds plus low-waste ethos often using "imperfect" Fruits. Baked fresh on-site, the aroma evident to those nearby, any visit to Bakery Cafe Felzl should begin with Apple Strudel in delicate Pastry that features Cinnamon Breadcrumbs for added texture plus bright spots of acidity. Onward to Obstplunder, a peerless Apricot Danish in English, Viennoiseries take on new meaning when teeth crackle through laminated layers of Felzl's Nusskipferl though the oversized €9.30 Gugelhupf is a little more dry than what one will find at Rosengarten.

Bäckerei Café Felzl - Let's see how this goes. Quite small for £4.20.

This review is specifically for the Kaiserschmarrn, which was unbelievable!…read more When you arrive at Demel, there are two areas - one is a window for quick takeout and the other is to be seated. We waited in the takeout line for about 15 minutes and ate the best Kaiserschmarrn ever! Something I didn't even know existed until visiting Vienna. Highly recommend checking out this spot!

I visited Demel Vienna on August 19 during breakfast. I have always loved Demel from my previous…read morevisits, and I know it is a world-renowned and historic establishment, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I ordered my usual Kaiserschmarrn and a drink. I had noticed that the table next to me had a drink that looked good, so when the waitress took my order, I specifically told her that I wanted the same drink the table next to me was having. When my order arrived, it was brought by a different waitress. The drink looked completely different from what I had pointed to, so I asked her what it was. She told me it was a double espresso. I explained that I had not ordered a double espresso and again pointed to the drink at the table next to me, which was clearly a hot chocolate. The waitress then called over the waitress who had originally taken my order. Instead of simply acknowledging that there had been a misunderstanding, she insisted, "That's what you ordered." When I explained again that it wasn't, she told me, "It's the same thing." A **double espresso and a hot chocolate are obviously not the same thing.** What bothered me even more than the incorrect order was the way both waitresses spoke to me. Their attitudes and tone were extremely rude, dismissive, and demeaning--as though I was stupid for pointing out the obvious mistake. The interaction became uncomfortable enough that people sitting at other tables were looking over at us. To make matters worse, my Kaiserschmarrn was **cold**. It tasted as though it had already been sitting out for some time before it was brought to my table. I understand that mistakes happen. Had they simply apologized for the misunderstanding and corrected the drink, I would not have had an issue. Instead, I was argued with and spoken down to over something that could have been resolved in seconds. This was genuinely one of the worst customer-service experiences I have ever had at a restaurant, and certainly not what I expected from an establishment with Demel's reputation. After several previous visits that I enjoyed, it is extremely disappointing to say that I will not return and will no longer recommend Demel to my friends.
