Well I'd love to leave a review about the quality of the dental service, but I couldn't even get…read moreinto the door. I made my first phone call on November 1st because I had EXTREME tooth pain (which was already happening for over a week at that point) but they couldn't get me into an appointment for well over a week, & the day that they did have an appointment for, I was scheduled to work. I went ahead and put myself down for it since the wait time was already so long, I wanted to secure my opportunity & attempt to get off of work and just reschedule my dentist appointment if I couldn't get off. They told me they would call me if somebody called and cancelled an earlier date appointment (that I was actually scheduled off of work for.) Well, they did call. But by the time that I called back (3-4 hours later) the appointment was already filled up. Knowing that I had extreme tooth pain, why couldn't they fill my name in for that appointment to reserve it, and wait just a little while to give me the chance to call them back? Don't they have some sort of priority list? (People who are experiencing tooth pain) Not everybody can answer phone calls immediately. Well, I had to call and reschedule a few days ahead of my appointment because I was unable to get off of work. & every single day that I happened to have off of work, the dentist office was closed. So I had to shoot for the closest appointment again (which was almost 2 weeks out) & attempt to get off of work. Again, they said they would call me if an earlier appointment opened up. Again, they did. And AGAIN, the appointment was filled by the time that I got the opportunity to call back. (2-3 hours later) I ended up having to reschedule again. Fast forward to mid December, I was finally able to get an appointment on 12/11 at 8:30AM and it was my day off of work. Well, the huge snow storm came. When I woke up on 12/10 I had a message saying "Our office will be opening late tomorrow (12/11) due to the weather, I can move your appointment to 2PM on 12/11, or would rather reschedule for a difference day. Give us a call back." Well guess what? When I called back (2 hours later), THE.APPOINTMENT.WAS.FILLED. So I FINALLY had a scheduled appointment on my day off of work for 8:30AM on 12/11, but because they decided to open late due to the snow storm, I lost my appointment because they didn't have the decency to just go ahead and put me down for the later 2PM appointment. They knew I had been trying to get an appointment since November 1st with extreme tooth pain, but they obviously didn't care enough to try and work with me. But that's not even the best part. During that same phone call, I went ahead & scheduled my appointment for 12/17. The appointment fell through again because I had to work. Because of the holidays approaching, I decided not to make another appointment at that time. So I called yesterday to pick a date far enough out (For late January, early February) so I could request the day off BEFORE my work schedule got released to assure the day off... & I was told that they will not schedule me for another appointment because I rescheduled too many times so I'm now "released." For 1, I did NOT even get a warning at all that such a thing would happen. I would have stopped attempting to make it into my appointment on a day I was scheduled for work if I would've known. And 2, they knew I had extreme tooth pain and they also knew my work schedule was tight, but they would not work with me. Every other place of business I've ever been to have all been very kind, understanding and worked with me the best that they could. Why would rescheduling be a problem in the first place? I always called a few days before my scheduled appointment to reschedule, so I'm sure they were able to fill the appointment slot with somebody else. It's not like they lost out on any business. Maybe they should consider being more understanding, start working with their customers more, & implement some sort of priority list when appointments get cancelled. (They should think about people who are in pain first, THEN people who just need a basic cleaning/check up/whatever of the sort) I know you're probably wondering why I didn't just find somewhere else to go, especially if I had extreme tooth pain. My tooth pain was very extreme until late November, after that, it finally got to a point where it was manageable with ibuprofen & acetaminophen. (Which I'm still currently taking to manage) I wanted to go to this place because I read that they do surgical procedures as well. Which no other place around this area does both. (That I know of) So if I did end up needing that type of work done, I wouldn't have to be referred anywhere else, which is convenient. If I would have known I was going to end up going elsewhere anyways, I would have made an appointment somewhere else 3 MONTHS AGO. This dentist office was a huge waste of my time and effort.

Dr Trickers knowledge and experience was beyond exceptional! I needed a tooth pulled and decided on an implant being a tooth I needed to eat with. Dr. Tricker explained everything in detail. The next day after my consult I had the surgery with sedation. The nerves were high on my part but I was put to ease by Melissa and Dr Tricker. I was there over an hour but it felt like 15 minutes! No pain or swelling or bruising afterwards. One week post op for a followup and then monthly for three months to make sure the implant is healing and healthy before I see my regular dentist for the crown. I have all the confidence in recommending Dr Tricker and Central Virginia Oral & Facial based on my experience! Highly recommend! They have an office in Charlottesville and Culpeper. I chose Culpeper as that's where I live. Thank you again! Also, the flowers were beautiful and such a nice surprise! Thoughtful, kind and top notch!! Sincerely, Janice C.

All of the staff was very knowledgeable and I was told exactly how much I would owe out of pocket. On the day of surgery, I arrived and was taken back within five minutes. Very happy with the services received and the friendly staff, nurses, and doctors.

During appointments, Dr. Norton often comes into the room, spends very little time actually examining me, and leaves without adequately answering my questions or addressing my concerns. When questions are answered, I often feel as though I am bothering her or that my concerns are not being taken seriously. The appointments seem increasingly focused on getting patients in and out rather than providing thorough, attentive care. My biggest concern was a tooth that caused me persistent pain for approximately a year and a half. I mentioned the same tooth and the same pain at three consecutive six-month checkups. Each time, I was given a different explanation or recommendation. At the first visit, I was told that I needed to use a softer toothbrush. Six months later, I was told that the top of the tooth should be filed down. At the third visit, I was finally told that the tooth needed a root canal. Since Dr. Norton does not perform root canals, I was referred elsewhere. Because my insurance only covers two checkups per year, this also meant paying out of pocket for an additional visit. Eventually, after a year and a half, the tooth was properly treated--and thankfully, the pain that I had been dealing with for all that time finally stopped. Routine checkups are supposed to be about identifying and addressing problems before they become more serious. In my experience, these visits have increasingly felt more like brief appointments focused on processing patients than thorough examinations and preventive care. Looking through the older reviews, it is clear that this practice was once highly regarded. Unfortunately, my recent experiences have not reflected those reviews. I am disappointed that I now have to find another dentist, but I feel it is necessary to find a provider who will take the time to listen to my concerns and properly evaluate them.
