So, I called to ask about the wait and they said probably around 15 mins, so I was about 10 mins away and felt this would be my best option. They weren't personable at all and no small talk at all, just confirmed what I wanted and the shape and thickness I like my brows. It wasn't the gentleness threading I'm used to, but she got the job done and my brows looked great. I felt like they hurt a bit after for a couple of days, so I was wondering if I'd been cut, but I just took care of it at home in my routine moisture care maintenance. I could have called, but the spa opened at 9am, and I didn't want to make a phone call in the car knowing I will be there soon. When I tried to check in, the front desk associate Kirstan Fournier berated me for being late. She said that I was unacceptably late, that Elena has a full day ahead, and that she doesn't know if Elena can accommodate me so they would have to take a no-show fee (which is my deposit). I was very apologetic and said I understood if I needed to reschedule. At this point, Elena came out and said that she could fit me in, but instead of trusting the Master Aesthetician's judgment, Kirstan said, "We will see what Elena can do, it is stated in your clauses that there is a no show fee and you obviously can't read or be on time." The reason why I was very upset is primarily because of the "you obviously can't read" comment. As an Asian woman, this sentence felt distinctly racially motivated. I sat in the spa treatment feeling humiliated and agitated. I reached out to management a few hours later, and the manager Maya told me "I'm sorry you misunderstood what Kirstan had said, we are not a business that allow discrimination." So it is the whole i'm sorry you feel this way, but it's your fault for not understanding correctly, our staff didn't do anything wrong, it's all on you for mishearing and misunderstanding. When I asked for a logical explanation i.e. would you (other staff) remember something was not said to you but just as a surrounding conversation half a day ago? She had no answer for me. I am very disappointing in lack of responsibility the manager & staff are taking. All I wanted was an apology and they told me I imagined the whole thing. TEXTBOOK GASLIGHTING. This is even more disturbing than the previous incident. The business is not willing to take responsibility but rather denies all wrong doings.

And we (the clients), don't mind waiting those few extra minutes, because we know that she wouldn't rush out of the chair any less than perfect. Its evident that she takes pride in her work. She is very knowledgeable about skin types/what the best products/brands are for your skin type, provides education on the products, and answers whatever questions you may have about the,. She's in fact, so knowledgeable that she has even come out with her own brand! She is an amazing business woman as well as kind person, as evident by the times she is unavailable to my makeup, she provides me with referrals to others (who are just as amazing). None of the makeup itself was quality makeup and brushes were old and unsanitary. The makeup artist was the sweetest but it was not her work on the yelp business images and she was clearly not as good. Instead of taking 1-1.5 hours, she took three hours and a half!!! On top of that she couldn't do liner because she said it would take way too long on top of the 3.5 hours she took! And she couldn't do lashes as well because there was no variety in style. I came for a natural subdued look and all she had were trashy thick 2 inch lashes. She was plastering layers of makeup on my face it looked so caked. She also had to do and redo eyebrows that took like an hour. Absolutely no consideration for time. Worst spent $65 of my life. The makeup was appalling I left the store holding back tears. I was stressed because of the time, and hated the way I looked.

I created an appointment, however, I unfortunately chose a "gel manicure" instead of the correct "acrylic-full set" that I usually get. Definitely a mistake on my end, however, the nail technician was able to explain to me the error in my booking and how she does not work with acrylic. I instead opted to have my daughter get her nails and toes done. The process was very easy and Vladlena made sure that she was comfortable, however, by the time I got in the car my daughters toe-nail polish was coming off and by the time I got home she only had polish on 4/10 fingers which was a huge disappointment due to the fact that my daughter was very excited to get them done. Moving forward, I really hope this issue can be rectified.

Please *note* I bought the "Full set Xtreme Eye Lash Extension" Groupon for much cheaper price than it is now. The inside of Lash Studio by Elle was very posh, clean and cute. There was coffee, and some chocolate in the sitting area. The studio was very clean and beautifully decorated. The certified Xtreme Lash stylist, Amber, was very nice and very informative about the difference between Xtreme lashes and other lashes. I've gotten my eyelashes done many times before in NYC. I was hoping Amber would be my monthly go-to eyelash stylist but unfortunately, my first visit and I wasn't 100% satisfied with the results. I am going to give a fair and honest review so here's why: I showed Amber a couple of pictures of how I want my eyelashes from Lash Studio's own Instagram and Facebook pictures of their before and after Eyelash extensions. I was very impressed with the photos Lash Studio by Elle had (hence why I bought the Groupon). The photos display women with long AND thick lashes. However when Amber asked me what I wanted and I showed her pics from their own website, she said she cant do volume/thickness, she can only "lengthen my eyelashes to give it a mascara effect"... Problem was that I already have naturally long eyelashes, I needed volume... I wanted her to be able to work with my type of eyelashes but she seemed to only know how to work with people who have eyelashes similar to hers which are short eyelashes. I even showed her a picture of two ladies on their company's website to indicate that's exactly what I want but Amber said I'd have to pay her an EXTRA $20 for VOLUME and THICKNESS on my eyelashes. I expressed what I want, as I've had previous eyelash stylist in NYC give me thick voluminous eyelash extensions many times before for the same price, and within the same amount of time. Amber repeated she can make it thick for $20 more otherwise she's just going to add eyelashes for length purposes and that she would try her best. (sigh) I laid down hoping for the best, like any girl on her first visit to a salon. After 3 very still tiring hours, I notice she did a nice job but not a great job. Her work was nice enough for me not to say anything negative, but not nice enough for me to want to come back to do it again. I know she tried her best,as putting on Eyelashes is very tedious and takes lots of patience on both ends, so the 3 stars I've given are going into Amber's effort, the interior decor of the studio, and the friendly atmosphere. Thanks for trying Amber, I appreciate your effort. For everyone else, I added updated pictures of how my eyelashes look on day 9.

I have short Asian/Korean lashes so I was more than happy to get a professional's opinion, plus her opinions were right! I know a lot of us want the way we want things but I'm soooo glad I trusted Elle with my lashes :) I would recommend Lash Studios Elle to everyone and anyone, let's be honest their prices right now are killer!
