I liked the young lady that did my eyebrow wax, my facial and my pedicure. I didn't speak much to the gal that did my massage (she was THAT good!). I got home to notice that my eyebrows didn't even match each other. I told the girl that I didn't want to lose thickness - just clean them up a bit. As someone that is very particular about my eyebrows - this is, after all, where people look when they are talking to me - I was more than mad and disappointed. I ended up cutting my left one to match what was left of my right one. Then, I had to narrow my left one to match the right one. And, I had to shorten my left one to match my right one. Now, I have half the eyebrows that I normally have. I went for a family dinner that evening and my mother asked if I got a little out of hand with the wax..... My pedicure was almost relaxing. Other than the fact that she cut one toenail so short that it bled a little bit. A friend informed me that I should watch that I don't get an ingrown nail from that nasty little nail. (She told me to shove cotton under my nail when it gets long enough and then it won't grow into the side of my toe). The massage was good. Very relaxing and pampering. Exactly what I went there for. I could have saved myself about $200 (skipping the waxing, the facial and the pedicure) and gone just for the massage and my day would have been much more relaxing in the end. The spa itself is very lovely. It's in an old home and it's done up quite nicely. Snacks were put out in the afternoon. Tea and coffee were offered every time anyone walked by me. However, I didn't go there to admire the old house.

I decided to go and visit Dr. McWhirter in Airdrie at ReNue. From the moment I walked in the door I felt instantly at ease. The place was clean and had a nice modern feel- not sterile like some doctors' offices can be. The receptionist (I think her name was Erin) was super friendly and helpful. I think she could tell I was nervous and she instantly put me at ease. I ended up getting botox in my forehead (to prevent further frown lines) and some filler in my "crow's feet" around my eyes. I am TERRIFIED of needles, but Dr. McWhirter was very gentle and I only felt a mild discomfort. I was afraid he would tell me I looked terrible and try to "upsell" me procedures that I didn't need. Not the case at all. It's been three months and I am very pleased with the results. People tell me I look great and want to know my secret. I feel like my face has had 5 years taken off of it. When I sat down to begin, he came back over to me and offered coffee or tea. I chose coffee and Voila! He was back with it perfectly sweetened and creamed, free of charge!
