I liked the young lady that did my eyebrow wax, my facial and my pedicure. I didn't speak much to the gal that did my massage (she was THAT good!). I got home to notice that my eyebrows didn't even match each other. I told the girl that I didn't want to lose thickness - just clean them up a bit. As someone that is very particular about my eyebrows - this is, after all, where people look when they are talking to me - I was more than mad and disappointed. I ended up cutting my left one to match what was left of my right one. Then, I had to narrow my left one to match the right one. And, I had to shorten my left one to match my right one. Now, I have half the eyebrows that I normally have. I went for a family dinner that evening and my mother asked if I got a little out of hand with the wax..... My pedicure was almost relaxing. Other than the fact that she cut one toenail so short that it bled a little bit. A friend informed me that I should watch that I don't get an ingrown nail from that nasty little nail. (She told me to shove cotton under my nail when it gets long enough and then it won't grow into the side of my toe). The massage was good. Very relaxing and pampering. Exactly what I went there for. I could have saved myself about $200 (skipping the waxing, the facial and the pedicure) and gone just for the massage and my day would have been much more relaxing in the end. The spa itself is very lovely. It's in an old home and it's done up quite nicely. Snacks were put out in the afternoon. Tea and coffee were offered every time anyone walked by me. However, I didn't go there to admire the old house.

My first impression of the salon is that it's fresh and clean. It's painted a light mossy green which is soothing. I really like the large chandelier in the front area and the funky chic silver filigree lights in the pedicure area. I had booked an appointment for noon and I had to wait about 15 minutes for my turn. They were really busy on Saturday. The pedicure was ok. Then it was time for my manicure. The guy in the shop did my manicure and did a terrible job of it. He was filing my nails wildly and I ended up fixing some nails that were not looking good. Then after he painted my nails, I looked closely at them and noticed he missed parts here and there and I saw fibers from the cotton balls mixed in the polish. What a mess. So he removed all the polish and started over. But he made a mess again. The one girl came over to finish my manicure and I was pleased with what she did. Overall it was pretty good and I'll most likely return as long as I don't have the guy do my mani pedi.

No one called me back so after waiting several hours I called back yet again since I really needed to book an appointment. Even had to go online and double check operation hours! The person who then answered the phone informed me there was no receptionist "in" today... Your business' lack of staff and planning is not my problem, you don't need to be rude to your clients. I spend about $250 every appointment and unfortunately, my stylist has whomever answered the phone, to blame for her loss.

Compared to other places I've had my hair butchered and never followed the picture I brought. Loanne took pride in her work and kept asking my question and followed the picture I brought. Horrible experience at TL Red Salon,…read more Worst experience I've ever had getting my hair done, so bad I walked out with a wet head and didn't tip and only paid for the colour and shit haircut $172. I should have refused to pay that. I have never once left a salon this angry or in the state I have in my entire life. I couldn't get into my regular stylist for another 6 weeks and I hadn't had my hair done professionally since February. I usually get my hair done every 6-8 weeks and pay $250-300 with tip depending on what is done. The appointment started off ok, I showed Loanne pictures of styles and colours that I liked, SHE said no to all them and proceeded to show me pictures from her phone. I told her I didn't want bayolage the pictures she showed started at minimum $300, and would take 5.5-6 hours. I told her I didn't have time for that as I had a work meeting at 3:30pm (my appointment was at 1145, I was early by 15 mins). I then asked for a root and foil touch up, with a coppery brown mix. She did not listen at all. She proceeded to tell me that she would do it quickly and I would make a meeting I had to be at for 3:30pm in Calgary. I've got to say Loanne's workmanship is comparable to a toddler playing with their Barbie hair. Sloppy, unprofessional, egotistical and requires a hell of a lot more training to justify the confidence she has. Main complaints: - I needed to get a lot of length off, so she used a clipper to take about 4 inches off one side and about 6 inches on the other. Yep, it was angled?! This was prior to any colouring so I wasn't too concerned. - 6 trips to the sink to wash different sections of hair, none of those times a towel was used, my top was completely soaked. Loanne didn't use the cupping over the ear technique that is commonly used so I had water and shampoo in my ears and it felt like I was having a cold shower and letting a 4 year old wash my hair. - hair dye marks on my forehead, my nose!?, under my chin AND below my eyes. - missed my work meeting, even though I made it clear I needed to be gone by 3. I still had the foils in my hair at 2:50. The state my face was in from hair dye there is no way I'd go in looking in state I did with soaking wet clothes. She told me to go to meeting and come back. (Keep in mind I had an angled cut, hair dye on my face, shirt was saturated in water and no time to even wash and dry my hair) - worst hair cut of my life. Uneven, blocky, almost like a bucket was put over my head and used as a template to cut around my neckline. Loanne wanted to style and trim after blow drying my hair, I had already lost complete faith in her abilities as a stylist and had enough. I was done I didn't want anything more to do with her. - oh and my hair is not coppery brown... it's blond and WHITE around my neckline. - little to no communication in the 4 hours I was there. I'm not sure who has rated Loanne 5 stars in the past but she had no problem telling me repeatedly that people pay her $500 to do their hair. The last time she said this I told her they were fucking idiots. I expressed my concerns to the Manager Arleen via Facebook Messenger, she offered me a full refund on Friday night at 8:24pm and then I received a message this morning at 8:28am that a refund WOULD NOT be given. But they would fix my hair. (Not a chance!) Perhaps I'm not getting a refund because I didn't delete my post from Yelp yet that was made on. Friday, I had intended to once I received the refund today. Save your money, I would have done a way better job giving myself a COVID cut. I am by no means high maintenance when it comes to my hair. The majority of time it's tied up or straightened, I don't curl it daily I don't use hairspray or mousse or any other products. My mom was a hairdresser (retired and in lives Ireland), I know the pride she used to take on her customers. My experience was night and day. August 10/20: In response to Loanne @ TL Red Salon - I missed a work meeting after repeatedly telling you the time I needed to leave. Which resulted in disciplinary action. I was already a hot mess after your "service". There was no way I was going to attend a meeting in the state I looked. The coloring is atrocious and not very well done, nor the color I asked for once it was determined I didn't not have the time for they style you suggested. I had already spent 4 hours in the salon and I was extremely angry and lost complete faith in you and your abilities. August 12/20: TL Salon has removed the ability to comment/review on their Facebook page! Loanne your ego and inability to admit your mistake is absolutely appalling. Karma is going to bite you in the ass.

When I sat down to begin, he came back over to me and offered coffee or tea. I chose coffee and Voila! He was back with it perfectly sweetened and creamed, free of charge! We had a very nice conversation, and the coffee was a special Vietnamese blend that I'd never tried before. So delicious! Our nails were done very quickly and turned out absolutely beautiful. The art designs were perfect! I We will all be going back there again to try out their other services. 5 stars!
