The service from DermalGrafix was amazing. They were responsive in my initial inquiry and I was connected with Hunter. She texted back and forth with me to understand what I generally wanted. I had an idea but I didnt know how to bring it to life. When I saw her sketch I was blown away. And then I came in to get it done and to be honest, it is 10 times better than what the sketch was. When you arrive in this little strip mall you wouldn't think that entering through the tattoo shop doors would transport you into this artful dungeon, cave like space. My husband was here getting an arm piece from Peter, he had an appointment and I decided to get a tattoo as well since I was already there. *they do take walk ins We both have had work done by Peter, his line work is really solid and we have always been happy with our outcomes. He is also extremely personable and easy to work with. We have followed him from a few different shops. He did an amazing merman tattoo on my arm and I wanted to get some sea creatures to fill in some space. Brendan was available and did an amazing job. His work exceeded my expectations and I love it so much. I get a lot of compliments and it healed nicely. He was very sweet and checked on me several times throughout. I was pretty open on the design, I showed him a few reference photos and he came up with something quick that fit well into my existing piece. I would highly recommend this shop and these two artists. The owner of the shop Tattoo Elvis was there and I could tell he really encourages the younger artists. Jessie is absolutely awesome! I've been getting tattooed for quite a long time and some of my old artists had either moved out of town or out of the country altogether. While searching for a new artist, it seemed that all I could find were these people that wanted to cut and paste an image from google right onto your skin and making adjustments that required actual artwork wasn't what they wanted to do. I was looking for an actual artist to help me conceptualize my idea. Thankfully, I came across Jessie's artwork on Instagram, and when I took her my idea, we were able to knock it out of the park. She drew an amazing image for me. Then the tattoo she did for me came out absolutely amazing. It was exactly what I wanted! Firstly, I probably wasn't the easiest customer to deal with! I went to DermalGrafix about five years ago and had no idea ownership had changed hands. I reached out after perusing some of the artists' work and I was really struck by Elvis's aesthetic - attention to detail, excellent use of depth and texture, and color. Elvis got back to me right away and we started a dialogue about what I wanted and how he could make it work. I probably sent him a dozen more emails than I needed to! But each time he responded with a great attitude. The experience of the tattoo itself was fantastic. The shop is extremely clean and chill. Everyone I came into contact with was friendly and down to earth. You scan a barcode, sign your waiver, and you're ready to go! Elvis is a great guy. Friendly, no pretense, and he clearly cares about what he's doing. I'm sure my topics of conversation veered in the weirdest directions, but he followed along with a smile. Having been a bartender stuck listening to patrons go on and on, I can only imagine what tattoo artists have to deal with when they have a client for several hours. But Elvis was totally professional. Elvis took my ideas...and made them better than I could have imagined. I am awestruck by the completed piece. Elvis covers your tat with a "second skin" and sends you home with more to reapply after 24 hours. Well, I totally jacked up my adhesive work. Panicked, I showed up the next day as he arrived, and he was like, "Yeah, I can take care of that!" Very professional. There's nothing worse than showing up to a customer service job and having people wait for you before you get there, but Elvis handled it like a pro.
