Today I came in as a walk in to get my ears pierced for the first time. Right away I was greeted with three friendly smiles, and a well lit, clean shop. In no time I was helped with consent and safety form as well as making sure I am of valid age even though I'm going on 40. This is always a positive! Both for all our safety and my ego :). After that I was taken in the back and Shannon discussed what I was looking for, pricing, and expectation for healing times. Making sure everything was lined up the way we wanted it was easily done and I was in and out in under 20 mins. I got my second earlobes pierced here about a year and a half ago. Today I finally retired it after fighting to heal it all this time. I've gone through bottles and bottles of saline spray. It just never worked. I've gotten some cartilage piercings a few months ago and they're already healed way better than this lobe piercing. Initially, I was hesitant on the placement and thought it was way too far apart from my first piercing. He said that it's a good placement. I should've went with my guts and decide against his suggestion. I guess my fault. However, since it was so much higher than my first piercing, and the anatomy of my ear is smaller. This lobe piercing was like in between cartilage and lobe. I'm guessing this is why it was a struggle to heal. Also I was pierced with a butterfly earring back. Red flag. I was also told to use antibacterial soap to clean the piercing, instead of saline spray. This was also a red flag. I researched online saying how it wasn't helpful to use antibacterial soap. And I experienced first hand on how it dried and hardened the skin around my piercing. Service was friendly, albeit the bad experience with healing. I really wanted the piercing to heal so it's sad that I've finally accepted defeat after a year of trying. :( read more

Shoutouts to Ollie. Got an industrial done today (first cartilage piercing) super chill guy that knows his stuff. I initially looked into a few spots beforehand: 101 piercing in Encinitas, locally famous in San Marcos and piercings by Tracy in Oside. 101 piercing is too expensive and their customer service is lacking. Piercings by tracy in Oside didn't have the greatest reviews. Lastly I personally felt like the piercers at locally famous didn't have as much experience as Ollie and I didn't like some of the placements of their piercings. Glad I chose grand legacy.
