I recently had an appointment here with Dr. Aponte. My appointment was at 8:30 in the morning and I was seen promptly. The visit was a for a general visual scan of any spots that might be of concern and to burn those off. The entire time spent with the doctor was 4.5 minutes to view and burn off 3 spots. Dr. Aponte is polite and professional. However, Im not sure how we can scan my entire body and burn 3 spots in four and half minutes. However, I left and went to check out. To my surprise by bill was $285. I am self insured and asked for the cash discount. She told me this was the cash discount. So, I paid and walked out. (To put this in perspective, I am cash pay for for Internal Medicine doctor whom I see once a year and the cash price is $150 for about 20-25 minutes of his time. Seems very reasonable. After thinking about this for a month, I decided to write a polite message, much like this review to let them know my concern for the pricing. Again, to my surprise, no reply from the office manager or anyone associated with Dermatology Specialist. As the owner of a small business, I can't imagine a customer writing us a polite message and no response. Oh well, not the end of the world. Just surprising. Perhaps this is just where medicine is today. Before writing this, I looked at their reviews and noticed no responses from Dermatology Specialists to these Google reviews. No "Thank You" for the positive ones and no "we will do better" on the negative reviews. This should be all you need to know. read more

The staff here have been quick with check in and check out. I'm able to get an appointment within a reasonable timeframe and haven't had to wait very long at their office. I enjoy seeing Dr. Courey as she is professional, knowledgeable, and doesn't make me feel rushed. read more

Terrible experience. I have waited for this appointment for a month and a half. Walked in at 10:45 for my appointment and stood in line up until 11. When I finally see the front desk they tell me they have to cancel my appointment and reschedule a whole 2 months later and that there's nothing sooner. I told her I was standing in line waiting and asked if there was anything she could do and she was just rude. I get that you need to be at appointments early but at the same time, I called multiple times to let them know I would be 5 minutes late and not one answer for 10 phone calls. She should be able to see that I was behind people for 15 minutes and not my fault I talked to her at 11. They rarely answer phone calls and when they do they are extremely rude and incompetent. read more

My wife went to this office and paid $204 for patient's portion and when insurance processed claim, her responsible was only $87.15, so I keep calling this office and left message at least 3 times for last 2 weeks now, but i did not get response from office. also, when my wife came back to cut stitches, they did not remove all, so she got infection. called the office to notify but she can not come until 4-5 later because no schedule, so my wife removed remaining stitches herself to get away of infection I recommend not to go to this office. read more

I have been a patient at this practice for several years and have actually recommended Dr Coury; however, after today I am DONE! After showing up for an appt only to find out it had been cancelled, we made a new appt. My daughter and I showed up for our new appt and waited for over an hour only to find out that Dr Coury was not even in the office!! This office staff is so incredibly incompetent that it took them over an hour to let us know that she wasn't there...while we sat patiently waiting in their incredibly hot waiting room, listening to them chit chat. If you're looking for a friendly , competent staff you've come to the wrong place. Let me share my bias that I'm the head of technology for a division of a billion dollar company, so I might have high digital expectations. However, I don't think expecting the 21st century to have kicked in was unreasonable. So as I left, it was evident of the "what a Karen" X conversation would ensue once I was at the doors. Buy you tell me after reading -- am I a Karen or did I have a right to be mad at the illogical processes. Here is my experience: I'm 2 weeks postpartum and developed some not so cute skin conditions. My OB gave me this referral and let the office know it was urgent as I've been breastfeeding that entails skin to skin interaction. One positive is that their office called within 24 hours to get me in for an appointment. With the confirmation of appointment, I made sure to ask what I would need to bring with me. The response was at first "nothing specific" that I just needed to sign up for their portal. So (luckily) I asked about license and insurance. This jogged her memory that these were two items I needed. I proceeded to confirm that I had my physical license, but a digital copy of my insurance. THIS IS IMPORTANT - she said this was absolutely fine. So reminder I have a newborn and an early morning appointment. I get us packed up and to the appointment on time including the 42 minute drive. Upon checkin the receptionist asks for my ID and insurance. I provide the license and ask politely where I can send, upload or show my insurance card. To my surprise I'm told they don't accept any digital file. After explaining what I was told on the phone , she continues to insist they need the physical copy. Finally after pushing further she says I can upload it onto the portal. So I proceed to fill out the paperwork, download the portal (cool, some technology) , upload the photo and return to the counter. To which she explains that the portal only works sometimes and my file didn't come through. Ok cool - so where do we go from here. She tells me I can reschedule for later that week. That it's impossible for me to be seen without a physical copy as it goes against Hippa. This is where I get mad. So your technology doesn't work, your staff isn't trained to have prevented this situation to begin with and you're giving me some bullsh*t excuse that the physical copy is necessary for Hippa!? Oh ok - let me go tell every doctor I've had in the last 10 years they're violating hippa because zero of them needed my physical copy of insurance. And no , rescheduling a 1.5 hour round trip with a newborn for an office that is already proving incompetent is not an option. So I guess if this does make me a Karen, so be it, but I give myself props for not letting postpartum hormones from kicking in and keeping my voice below a yell through all of this. read more

If you are looking for a professional office, i would not recommend this. Today we showed up for my son's appointment which we scheduled at the time we checked out from my son's last appointment. But the front office said they did not show up our appt in the system and they would like to re-schedule a month later. Terrible customer service, the people who answer the phone are rude, incompetent, and uncivil. Then it gets worse from there while they fail to work you in for an urgent emergency with a referral from an internal medicine MD. Said I would have to wait for 6 weeks. And this is as an existing patient (happened to be re-referred to my existing dermotology practice). Horrible people, customer service, and the doctor, who I saw one time, spent literally 3-4 minutes with me and was in such a rush I didn't get the chance to ask any questions. Kristen, who answered my original call was quite rude both to me and to the person she checked in while I was on the phone (sounded like she was speaking to a dog when she told her to sit down). Kristen hung up on me twice - on purpose saying I was being obnoxious, when all I was doing was asking why they were trying to make me a "new" patient when I had been there before. and then saying my doctor wasn't accepting new patients. I'm quite sure it's all because of money as they charge more for new patients. she then obviously screened my calls because refused to even answer the next few times I called back. after waiting some minutes, I called again and a different person answered. She was a bit nicer on the phone, but I still was unsatisfied as I could not get an appointment with the doctor I had seen before and my skin problem had returned, didn't want to go thru it all again with new. I started going to this dermatologist back in 2013 and had excellent results over time. Unfortunately I am coming back because of problems with my skin due to sun exposure and problematic breakouts. There are three doctors that work out of this location and getting an appointment isn't a hassle. The front staff is friendly but the only issue is you have to be prepared to wait to see your doctor. There is normally a 15-30 minute wait (after your appointment time) before you are taken to the back and seen. They would get 5 stars if the appointment times actually started as scheduled. I would look for another dermatologist but I have had excellent results in the past and luckily for me - my schedule is flexible. (Update) It's worth the wait. My skin is looking soooo much better and I'm excited to see it continue to improve. read more

I was a patient of Dr Nguyen for several years until an insurance change caused me to switch offices. She was caring and kind so I was happy that another insurance change meant I could see her again. Unfortunately the office manager refused to accept my insurance. I had my insurance company's patient advocate call to assure them my insurance would cover my appointments. We do not have a network/ my insurance will pay any doctors office we visit. We are free to see any doctor. This office refused to accept my insurance without even looking into it at all. She's had no previous bad experience with my insurance company to make such a fast judgment. I have no idea why it is too much trouble for them to simply file a claim. read more

A couple of days ago I went in for question about SkinCeuticals. Jo (office manager) came to talk to me about it and she made me feel like complete shit. She made me feel like I didn't have any knowledge about skincare. I've worked at a high end spa for several years now so I know she gets fillers and Botox. She wants to claim that this product works but yet she is getting work done. I do not recommend buying these overpriced products for it to not work as good as she claims. What a complete scam!!! He had to do Two biopsies on skin growths I pointed out to her in December 2017. Plus, re freeze a grow that she did not properly address on my last Annual Check up.
