Still not seeming like it was healing right, we went to a different practice. He said it looked like a keloid and treated it, did not change, so he sent us to a plastic surgeon. He treated it to soften it for surgery for year. When he was able to finally do the surgery, he asked how many stitches the original derm (mindful) used to close the incision. They didn't use any. He said it looked as if some of the glue they used got into the incision and that is why it formed the keloid. I was so mad! Not only did we tell them it did not look right, but they obviously did not do a good job since they got glue in the wound. I have never gone back obviously, And while I did go there at that time, I will say they over charge for all of their esthetics. I feel they are more about money than how than anything else.

I made an appointment and they gave me a trial injection of collagen. Nothing untoward happened and so I received the full treatment the next week. A few days later the skin around my neck started to priclkle and a strange lesion appeared on my left shin. I was due to go to Australia and while I was there my body swelled...a different part every day. I had my skin tested and the Australian doctor said that it was a severe allergy from some sort of drug. I don't take pharmaceuticals so I knew then what it was....the collagen shot. I arrived back in the USA with still swelling on different parts of my body. I called the company who supplied the collagen and they said that I was supposed to receive two trial shots of the collagen....not one! I have had spongeotic dematitis on and off for 25 years....sometimes fairly mild but other times devastating. The visit to Lori Stetler's dermatology practice has ruined my life. It had been approximately a year and a month on this day. I think it's bad for patients, and bad for business that they would refuse me my results especially when my diagnosis was relayed via the phone and the diagnosis was not going to change since I hadn't been treated due to Illness and taking care of sick and dying family members. They could improve greatly by being more compassionate about serving their patients and changing their policy if that is actually a policy with their office.

Then I had to come back because the one doctor doesn't do any cutting and I had a weird colored mole. But wait, they didn't actually take that mole but cut another one I wasn't worried about that was in a place you couldn't stitch so I had an open sore for a couple weeks Worst of all, I was waiting to see what insurance would cover and exploring told the lady in person and over the phone a couple weeks later to call me once insurance was done and I'd pay it immediately. Instead I get a call from collections. Adding insult to injury, they will not stop emailing me no matter how many times I ask. Stay far far away from this crappy dermatology clinic.

Have been coming here for a few years and used to have a 5-star review up, but can't really…read morerecommend them at this point for a few reasons. 1) Poor communication and lack of continuity between visits. They don't seem to have a good system for documenting patient concerns or outcomes. I feel like I'm a first-time patient every time I come in, having to repeat myself about what's going on. They keep asking me "How is XYZ going?" where XYZ is some random, long-named condition that I've never heard of before, and they say 'well it's in your chart" and I say "you tell me that every time I come in but I don't know what it is" and they say "well it could have been this, or that, or this other thing." Seriously? 2) Everything they can possibly prescribe to treat things is expensive. Skin cream? $750. Foam? Another $350. 15 minutes with the doctor? $120. Copy of my medical records so I can review them more thoroughly? $25. Would be great to find a doctor willing to actually work with patients on finding reasonable treatment options. 3) Difficult to work with in general. When they recommended a particular blood test, I said, "Great, how much does it cost?" They had no way of answering my question. I asked if they could check with the billing coordinator, and still could not get an answer. It took many phone calls over 2 weeks to find out that they send blood samples out to a certain laboratory (which is out of network), and the end result is that the blood test would cost me 250% more at this office than if I got an order for a normal, in-network lab. Saved hundreds of dollars by simply asking my primary care doctor to call in the same blood test to another place. Maybe this office would do that too if I asked, but I doubt it given how difficult everything else is. 3) Seemingly minimal regard for patient needs. On my most recent visit, I brought a skin issue to their attention that is a new thing that started bothering me a few weeks ago. Their solution? Injections that will cost $30,000/year indefinitely, which they glibly said "will help me take care of the deductible on my HDHP." No other option, just that. I ask "how long do you think I need this for?" and they can't tell me, because it's a new treatment - under 1 year old - that doesn't have much data yet. I asked "So what were you guys doing before this $30K/year treatment? Can I have that instead?" "No, it's more risky. This is your only option." OK, great, so I can commit to pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for a brand new condition that has been bothering me for like a few weeks and has no alternative? All in all, it just doesn't feel like a friendly place to get treatment. There are plenty of other options on Yelp with a significant history of more satisfied patients.
