I have been getting yearly skin checks for many years now, starting with Kristine Kucera and now with Dr. Marinaro. In between I have seen them for various other skin issues that have cropped up. I have always been happy with the service. They usually get me in and out pretty quickly. And Dr. Marinaro has been very helpful keeping my rosacea mild. During the yearly checks he is always thorough and gives me time to discuss any problem areas that I'm concerned about. I had gone to Kristene Kucera around December of 2017. I came in for acne on my face and she had provided me with both an oral and topical medication. Although the tablets had worked at first, their effect slowly began to ware off. I then went back in for the second time for a follow up and she changed my oral medication to a different tablet. After failing yet again, she put me on an antibiotic for a month which resulted in me getting violently ill. After this terrible experience, I quit going in for my acne and just dealt with it. I had later gone in for some bumps I had noticed on my legs and some discoloration from my eczema on my back. She has provided me with two different topical medicines for my back and legs. However, she yet again failed to provide me with useful medications. She had assumed that both my back and leg issues were caused from my eczema and provided me with two different moisturizing creams for both issues. Neither of these issues were resolved. Today, I went to a new dermatologist in which I came in with the same issues I went to doctor Kucera about but also included the new issue of bumps on my face. During my appointment, I mentioned to the doctor that she had prescribed me a medication for my leg bumps and to this remark, she was confused. She had explained to me that the medication she had provided was for dry skin and she didn't understand why because the bumps on my leg were actually a virus which had spread onto my forehead due to the improper treatment on Dr. Kucera's part. In conclusion, I was very disappointed in the work of Dr. Kucera and had been let down multiple times. I have a friend who has had a similar experience where Dr. Kucera's prescriptions failed. Review is for my brief interaction with Lauren who answered my call. Going off recommendations, I contacted NTD to ask about Dr. Matter availability. She's book for two months out. Lauren said I can see a PA instead. She asked for my insurance info. I told her I was looking for it. Within 20 seconds, she had a call come in and without informing me, put me on hold and eventually hung on me. I don't mind that I was disconnected from their office, but impression Lauren's tone and brisk responses was that I was annoying her. read more

When it was discovered and discussed during the appointment that the exam I intended to purchase was not what was being delivered, the response was to charge me for what I did not want, while scheduling me at additional expense for what I did come in for. Having received what I did not want as my only means of detecting that was not what I asked for, I chose not to dispute the charge; however, your choice in billing/collecting for what I did not want will result in my posting this experience on every feedback site I can find. read more

This place has been nothing but a waste of time and money. They have constantly dropped the ball on insurance and lab issues. They require me to go to the lab and have blood drawn before my appointments but they never have the lab script to the lab. I have gone FASTING 4 times even after I called the day before and begged that they get it there. This wasted my time and money. The doctor is rushed most times even though she standing around in the hallway when they take me back and it doesn't matter how early you come they take you back 15-20 min after the appointment time. Both husband and son had routine things treated, and the follow up instructions were non-existent, causing 3 more office visits for husband and so much scarring on my 7 year old that didn't even cure the rash. I had no problems with this place. I called a couple days in advance for a medial issue. I came in filled the paperwork, and within 15 minutes was already in an exam room. And I would say about 5 minutes after the nurse asked me a lot of questions, the PA was in there and issue was resolved. Quick and efficient. I really like that. read more

The experience I had scheduling the appointment tainted my whole experience here. Points for responding to e-mail. They won't schedule new patients after 3:00 PM, even though their office is open until 5:00 PM. The administrative staff doesn't seem to understand that when someone says they are available after 3:30 PM, it means they are not available at 2:45 PM. Some people have to work for a living! They also won't tell you about this 'rule' until after they get all of your insurance information, even if you are upfront about your availability. I found this extremely frustrating, especially as I was clear that all I needed was to have some prescriptions refilled. I was in-and-out of the office in under an hour, so I'm not sure what necessitates scheduling new clients two hours before closing. Even if you request to see a dermatologist, you most likely will get scheduled with a physician's assistant. I don't see the two professions as synonymous, and I doubt most medical professionals would either. It's not that seeing a physician's assistant would be "bad" or "worse", but if I wanted to see one, I would ask! Even though this location is conveniently located, I'm not sure I'll be back due to the manipulative administration staff. Julie Darby is very friendly and competent; I thought she was helpful and her behavior and attitude would be the only reason I would come back here. read more

Julie Darby was awesome when I went to see her while I was pregnant and dealing with acne. I am now nursing and went back to the office because I was having some acne flare ups and Julie Darby is no longer there. I saw a different a doctor (Kristine kucera) thinking I would have the same experience and it was terrible. I was prescribed a topical that caused me to have a terrible breakout and she pretty much just said oh well there's nothing else we can try when I called to ask about other options. The nurse was rude when I called and I also paid 85 for my visit and during my visit the front desk came in and said oh it would of been a 5 dollar copay if you got a referral letter from your doctor. I would of definitely done that if they informed me of the correct information. They said my insurance wasn't covered. Won't be going back read more

I highly recommend Dr Kristine Kucera, she is an amazing dr at advising me on what to do and how to take care of my skin giving me advise on what ever I have questions for. Her medical assistant is extremely sweet and helpful as well. I would recommend her 10/10 for a yearly dermatologist to go to. Great experiences every time. read more

I went in for a two skin growths on my nose to have them removed. The doctor saw me and informed me that they would simply remove them and that there is nothing to worry about. They asked me to call back and schedule a different appointment to have them removed. Once I called in to schedule the removal they informed me that even though they know that the growths are benign and nothing to worry about, they refuse to remove them without me paying an additional $300 to $350 for a biopsy of the skin that will be removed. So to sum it up they want me to pay that much money for a test that they know will result in nothing. I said i don't want the test and they accused me of being rude and that if i didn't want to pay "I don't have to have them removed cause they are nothing to worry about." The rudest office staff I have ever dealt with. I cancelled all future appointments and will be informing others of my experience. read more

I highly recommend this practice! I began seeing Dr Singer 5.5 years ago when she diagnosed me with melanoma. Since then I have been seeing her every 3 months. The staff is great, gentle, sympathetic. I began seeing Julie Darby, PA when Dr Singer started limiting her hours and availability. She is awesome and also takes care of my husband who also had a melanoma! They don't make you wait long and you just need to be aware that you need to schedule a few weeks out for routine appointments. It's like that everywhere. read more

I went to PA Kristine Kucera after learning that Dr. Singer was no longer there. I made my appointment for three different skin concerns since I know for time limits they need to know what to expect. She came in the room, I told the first one and then she talks to the nurse looks at me and says "next" I told her the next issue and she says "next" then the bumps on eye lid I told her Dr. Sanger gave me med that worked, told her what crème and said it expired. She glanced at my eye and said , no you need a painful surgery to get that no crème will help, "next" and when I was stunned and nothing she left the room. I had to ask the nurse what was I getting, skin crème what?? Not impressed, will find where Dr. Singer went. PS used the old eye crème and the bumps went away. read more

The office refused service for my daughter because she was brought there by her grandmother. (my mother) The office refused to try to reach me to make some other arrangement. I have access to a printer/scanner and could have quickly sent consent forms, photocopy(s) of my license, anything. The office refused and refused to even contact me. To make matters worse, they saw my daughter the time before when her grandmother brought her. If it is against their policy, then they are reckless and dangerous in not verifying their patients. I am completely displeased and cannot recommend this company to anyone. Save your money. You have a choice and this one should not be your choice. read more

I've been a patient of Kristine Kucera for several years now and I can't say enough good things about her or the staff at North Texas Dermatology. She is efficient, thorough and compassionate. She not only treats me but my family as well and her decision to treat your problem is well thought out prior to prescribing anything. Her goal is to achieve a positive outcome for her patients while avoiding serious medication side effects or medication related problems. Avoid these dermatologists at all costs! I went in for a small rash on my wrist. The PA told me what she thought it was and gave me a "sample" product to use on it. Not only did the rash spread, I also got a horrible bacterial infection along with it (she declared me winner of "rash of the day" when I went in. Nice). After consulting with another dermatologist (and, of course, both charging me), she prescribed an antibiotic that caused a new rash on my legs. I had to go in for second time and she gave me a shot for the rash on my legs and prescribed an oral pill that is very hard on the liver. I told her I was concerned and that I would rather use something topical and the dermatologist asked, "why are you concerned about your liver"? These people are completely clueless. Not only do they make skin conditions worse, they don't even understand why someone would be concerned about a drug that can hurt your liver. This should have been easily corrected with something topical. Now, here I am, two months later, having taken two weeks of the oral medication, my liver enzymes up and the rash still there. In my opinion, they should lose their licenses. read more

It has been two weeks now since I filled out their online form on the internet requesting an appointment for three procedures. This is through their official website. Despite being placed on hold both in Plano and Richardson to try to resolve this issue, no one was available to talk with me. The practice manager was on vacation and apparently the two office managers from both locations were discussing something a length with each other. Unless your computer system is down or someone has been on vacation for several weeks, this is hard to justify. read more

Dr. Singer may have saved my life or at a minimum saved me from very disfiguring surgery. There was a tan spot on the back of my leg (not a mole) that another dermatologist, at my insistence, had just been watching. He said it was nothing to be concerned about. You can get a same day or the next day appointment but the dermatologist that I went to see could not even diagnose athlete's foot and the assistant kept on arguing with me even after suggesting "Could it be fungal as it happened from wearing tight shoes"? Both doctor and assistant were not even ready to order lab tests and had to request them multiple times to order a swab test as the ointment the doctor had prescribed on the 1st visit did nothing but the skin condition deteriorated after 10 days obviously due to wrong diagnosis and wrong medication.Lab reports came out to be yeast/fungal infection ! Wow..really? Doctor can't even guess a disease after looking at the symptoms on a patient in the office? Office is also more interested in charging $$ than asking questions about how this happened, patient medical history etc. Would NEVER go back to Dr. Susan Lockhart or to this whole clinic ever again. read more
