NO ten minute run in and outs here! He also has excellent listening skills. He will call you himself in the evenings with results of your tests and it is rare he forgets, but then he can be paged to correct that. Additionally Dr Hanlon will be your champion with anything he can that affects your health, be it your insurer, your pharmacy, your specialist, your hospital. Despite that he dislikes the health care bureaucracy as much as the patient does, he does not leave you at your own devices to fight it. His diagnostic skills and knowledge are spot on and he is totally open to learn new things, even from patients. What prompted me to seek professional help though, was a seizure which scared me more than any of the other symptoms. I had consulted with numerous doctors and specialists who, after many office visits and tests, provided temporary symptomatic relief but gave no answers or explanation for why I was having so many problems. My energy level was lagging and despite my age, my quality of life had declined severely over the previous 3 years. A friend had prompted me to make an appointment with Dr. Cora Rivard who had helped her considerably with a variety of problems she was experiencing. I had been taking Prilosec (omeprazole) for several years for my issues with indigestion. One of the first things Dr. Rivard addressed was the vitamin deficiencies I was experiencing due to long term use of that medication. As I suspected, many of these health issues were related and nutrition deficiencies were to blame. I cut back on the dosage of Prilosec and began a regimen of supplementation which brought my body back to the health I had enjoyed previously. Reflux, heartburn, and stomach pain went away. Joint pain virtually disappeared and infections are now a thing of the past. Dr. Rivard has worked with me to regain my health and encouraged me to become an important part of my own recovery. I have found his office to be difficult to deal with. I had my first and only (and hopefullly last) crown done by Dr. Arsenault, I had to go to a different dentist for a root canal, followed by another dentist who had to do some work prior to the actual crown being created/applied. All seemed to go well, but took many months to finish and about $5000 out of my pocket. In the past, I had had my teeth cleaned there. When I went to go for my next cleaning, they wanted to do more xrays and I typically don't do that annually, but every few years and if there are any issues or concerns, I certainly have it done. When the office heard that I didn't want to have xrays this time at time of my cleaning, I was told that I couldnt visit any more and would have to find another dentist. First time in like 50 years this has happened! No other issues with previous dentists, of which there had only been a total of 2... I also got a letter in the mail that I was being dropped as a patient. Now after about a year, I am with another dentist for my cleanings and I have been warned that the crown (which is only about 2.5 years old) needs replacing - and it has to be an implant, at somewhere about $7k. (No insurance will cover any where near that and I have no dental insurance other than the standard cleanings, xrays, fillings, etc.) Apparently there is a space/pocket/divot at the gum line and this is going to decay in the future - and the only reason why it hasn't yet is because I floss 3 times a day, brush after eating anything and also rinse with mouthwash and peroxide - so I've been lucky. What a shame that my crown didn't last very long at all and that I got booted out as a patient because I wouldn't do xrays for my next cleaning visit. :-( So don't piss off the office staff by not having xrays done when requested. My original review of Arsenault/his office is below and is now removed to do this update: Switched dentists and have found the staff here to be incredibly friendly, explains everything and the same with Dr. Arsenault. A pleasure to have found a practice like this. Oh well. Have to pay the $7k to get an implant - I NEVER expected to have any issues with the crown, after all that timeframe in various dentist chairs and the expense. It is not fun and to find out that I have more expenses for something that I thought was finished and done, is a kick in the b*l@s.

Seriously, every office I have been to in LA have always tried upselling me with useless services and have even tried ripping me off by charging all kinds of extra procedures that never took place to my insurance company. With that said, I much prefer traveling 3000+ miles to Dr. Arsenault's office. The receptionists, Cindy and Diane, are so easy and pleasant to deal with. Rona, the dental hygienist, is truly the best dental hygienist I have ever encountered. She is always very thorough with the cleaning and will provide clear explanations to your questions. She is just an overall super kind and professional hygienist who really cares about her work and her patients. I also enjoy meeting with Dr. Arsenault at the end of the cleaning.
