I had been trying to get…read morean appointment with my PCP and they had nothing until May 29th or the only other appointment in the whole practice for the month of May was 7:30pm Monday night with the only provider that i do not wish to see. I informed the receptionist that i would probably be needing a transfer of records because i needed an appointment before then. He was nice, i was nice, the conversation was nice. We ended it at that. This morning, I got a phone call with no prompting from Lisa, asking why I was upset over not seeing my PCP. I told her I was infact NOT upset. I just want to transfer records. She told me I needed to understand Windhams guidelines, and i need to know that my PCP has many other jobs, including the sleep clinic and acute care on weekends. She was not calling to know why I needed an appointment or how serious it was. She just had to say that if I expected to be seen when I wanted, maybe I should go to another practice. She also downgraded my severity of my situation, saying... well, if you did what we said back in April, maybe it wouldn't be this way. And... It mustn't be as bad as I'm making it out to be. We were both trying to speak, and she told me to close my mouth and let her finish a sentence. That's when I asked to speak with her manager, Janet. Lisa refused to transfer me, telling me I could call back and go through the call center. So I did! There was absolutely NO reason for her call, and there was absolutely nothing good that came out of it. I have spoken to her boss, Janet, who promptly got me in first thing next week. She also informed me that Lisa could infact have transferred me to her direct line. I am also waiting for a call back from the Director of Operations.

Because of this our insurance won't pay the full amount of the physicals. We have tried to correct this multiple times with billing and they will not change the billing. I have found his office to be difficult to deal with. I thought I had found a wonderful dentist…read morethat I liked and trusted, but after the past year, I wonder about both the office and the dentist. I had my first and only (and hopefullly last) crown done by Dr. Arsenault, I had to go to a different dentist for a root canal, followed by another dentist who had to do some work prior to the actual crown being created/applied. All seemed to go well, but took many months to finish and about $5000 out of my pocket. In the past, I had had my teeth cleaned there. When I went to go for my next cleaning, they wanted to do more xrays and I typically don't do that annually, but every few years and if there are any issues or concerns, I certainly have it done. When the office heard that I didn't want to have xrays this time at time of my cleaning, I was told that I couldnt visit any more and would have to find another dentist. First time in like 50 years this has happened! No other issues with previous dentists, of which there had only been a total of 2... I also got a letter in the mail that I was being dropped as a patient. Now after about a year, I am with another dentist for my cleanings and I have been warned that the crown (which is only about 2.5 years old) needs replacing - and it has to be an implant, at somewhere about $7k. (No insurance will cover any where near that and I have no dental insurance other than the standard cleanings, xrays, fillings, etc.) Apparently there is a space/pocket/divot at the gum line and this is going to decay in the future - and the only reason why it hasn't yet is because I floss 3 times a day, brush after eating anything and also rinse with mouthwash and peroxide - so I've been lucky. What a shame that my crown didn't last very long at all and that I got booted out as a patient because I wouldn't do xrays for my next cleaning visit. :-( So don't piss off the office staff by not having xrays done when requested. My original review of Arsenault/his office is below and is now removed to do this update: Switched dentists and have found the staff here to be incredibly friendly, explains everything and the same with Dr. Arsenault. A pleasure to have found a practice like this. Oh well. Have to pay the $7k to get an implant - I NEVER expected to have any issues with the crown, after all that timeframe in various dentist chairs and the expense. It is not fun and to find out that I have more expenses for something that I thought was finished and done, is a kick in the b*l@s.

My family still lives in New England, but I moved to Los Angeles a couple of years ago and have failed to find a dental office in LA that will provide quality care. Seriously, every office I have been to in LA have always tried upselling me with useless services and have even tried ripping me off by charging all kinds of extra procedures that never took place to my insurance company. With that said, I much prefer traveling 3000+ miles to Dr. Arsenault's office. The receptionists, Cindy and Diane, are so easy and pleasant to deal with. Rona, the dental hygienist, is truly the best dental hygienist I have ever encountered. She is always very thorough with the cleaning and will provide clear explanations to your questions. She is just an overall super kind and professional hygienist who really cares about her work and her patients. I also enjoy meeting with Dr. Arsenault at the end of the cleaning. He does a final check and will address any concerns you may have. Like his staff, he too, is very caring and professional. I wish there was a dental office even just HALF as good as this one in LA!

I cannot tell you how effective they are at taking care of you without sending you to anyone else. If you are not seeing Dr. Stien you are taking a big chance with your life! With the Money machine that is our health care system, today Doctors are now salespeople. All they want is your money and you know this by how many times they scan you and send you to see someone else or the hospital. Dr. Stien only cares about you because he tells you how to be healthy and you know this because he asks you a lot of questions and examines before he diagnoses you. Now, who does this today? Dr. Stein cares about efficacy and cannot be purchased by the medical corporations. One of a kind.
