    This an amazing park

A great park for kids. They have a lot to do and the community in this area is amazing

With a heavy heart I wrote this, because it really is a great idea and there are few things like this these days. You just see the joy on children's faces as they walk up to this location. Sadly, unless you're first upon opening (like our first experience), or randomly pick the correct day when it is functional, you also will see the disappointment on the kids' faces as their parents are turned away. Of the 5 times we have commuted, we have only been able to ride the train ONCE - the first time we came and accidentally stumbled upon this place. *Note: we just happened to arrive at 9:45 and the train opens at 10*. We thought it was a fair price at $3/ticket for a 7 minute train ride... and there is also a carousel and little 50 cent machine rides. So, we have tried on FOUR additional occasions to repeat the positive experience... Unfortunately, we were disappointed ALL four times. If it wasn't for the splash pad at the park, it would have been a huge waste of time. Still massively inconvenient for commuting for a train ride though! The first time, the train broke. Upon inquiring, we were told it should be up and running by 2. It was noon. We went back at 3:30 to allow ample time - to return back to a closed sign that the train was broken and would be up the next day. The next times we came back, they closed early every time. We came in March - April '21. The sign posted says the hours during those months are from 10 - 6 PM, however they have closed as early as 4 PM with no provided information. Today we came for the FIFTH time, to witness the gates closing at 4:25 and another large family leaving, visibly upset. I overheard the parents complaining about how "this is the fourth time we've come and they close it!". I inquired with the male staff member closing the gate about what happened, and I was told with a poor attitude that they were closing early because "it's hot and we don't get many rides." *(Remember, I just witnessed an upset family leaving, and how do you expect to get rides when you close early?)* I asked why the posted hours said open until 6 and suggested changing the hours to reflect their true operating hours. (I mean, I can understand wanting to go home early... but do you want to maintain a business or stay at home?) By this time, a woman (who I have seen before on the day the train was broken) had come over and she very happily pointed out the small print at the bottom that says "Days, Hours and Rates subject to change without notice." I proceeded to state that was pretty inconvenient for multiple families that commute with little toddler children to a place to ride a tot train... perhaps just food for thought... and wished them a great day. Ultimately, I am really disappointed in how many times this place has let down my child (and other friends that we have invited for play dates). It is honestly becoming embarrassing to invite anyone. It is a real shame because during these times, there is such a limited range of activities, and it is just so heartbreaking to see a place that could be such a light during a time where laughter and fun is needed, especially for the children - and yet it is nothing more than a routine disappointment due to selfish business management. **UPDATE: I took a chance, because I already had a play date scheduled... from 10 AM - 1:30 PM on a MONDAY they never once opened. Now it is just a joke.**

Great old fashion park with railroad train ride, merry go round and a nice lake. Fun for the whole family in this picnic park.

Amazing train for kids to ride!

My kids love to be outside at the park! Prices are a little high for what you get but it's a good place to kill an hour or so.

The railroad is such a fun addition for kids to enjoy, and not to mention there is also a carousel they can ride too.

My wife and I were there for the Ostrich Festival which had recently moved from Tumbleweed Park to Rawhide at Wild Horse Pass. A very different footprint from the park, but the behind-the-scenes folks responsible for the festival did a fantastic job in the new location. Known for its concerts, the festival did not disappoint. Kansas, Vanilla Ice, Baby Bash, and The Commodores, among others. Smaller national bands and some local artists graced a smaller stage as well. Top notch entertainment was everywhere this year. Megan the Bubbleologist amazed with her bubbles, Mango and Dango added excitement with their music and dancing, the Cup Guy dazzled with his juggling skills, Off-Axis Stunt Shows were fantastic in three separate shows - BMX, trampoline, and diving. There was a magic show with Sean and Chanelle and their Model T car, live ostriches, a daily evening parade, STEM games, birds, and so much more to see. Already looking forward to next year's Ostrich Festival, held at Rawhide.

Rawhide hosts various events, including bull riding and concerts. For the Fever event, parking was free. For Ostrich Festival, pre-paid parking was $13 or $15 at the gate. You really have no other choice but to park in their lot given that it's basically out there on it's own in Chandler. It's about a 30-minute walk from Gila Casino. Rawhide is a "Western Town." While there isn't any historical context, Rawhide is made to look like an old Western town, dusty roads and saloon-style buildings included. The aesthetic is pretty cool. And it's spacious too. The logistics with the parking situation and getting your shoes dusty, not so much. Depending on the event, there might be vendors selling food, drinks, and more. While the vibe is cool, as the self-appointed king of events in Phoenix, I put this venue close to the end of the pecking order overall.

Once you walk in, it takes you back in time and it feels like you're walking into a Blockbuster. Very nostalgic! I love that they see how you communicate with each other prior to going into the room. I won't tell you how exactly because that'll ruin the experience. We did one room, Escape Plan, and we were told it was the easier one of the three. We escaped in about 29 minutes! We do quite a bit of escape rooms together so we will be going back for the other two rooms. You definitely use your head but it's not too easy and not too hard either. We didn't ask for any hints. What made the experience 5/5 was when we finished, we had a very long conversation with the employee who turned out to be one of the owners, Walter. He is very passionate and explained how they came up with these ideas. You could see how genuine he was and his passion for his business. It was refreshing to hear his ideas for his store and the future plans. We truly can't wait to go back and do the other rooms. You should seriously come here and plan a fun night out with friends and family!!

There is a changing station for the littles. 2: it's air conditioned. The only hot part in there was where the race track was otherwise everything else is air conditioned including the private rooms for parties. 3: there's a large Tv and you have the option to play your own music or put anything else on. 4: there's an arcade at least when we were there it was all working. 5: they do sell alcohol however there's a section you have to stay in and you can not leave your alcohol beverage unattended. 6: they also sell snacks. I'm unsure if they sell food to individuals. 7: I had no issue with any of the staff. 8: at the end they do metals which the kids loved. They only did to 3rd place. Cons: 1: you aren't allowed to bring outside food or beverages. You can bring an outside cake though. Definitely be mindful of the length of the cake because if it's too tall they won't be able to refrigerate it. However, I did mention they have air conditioned private rooms so what I did was closed the door. And it kept it cool in there which prevent our cake from falling apart. The cake indeed stayed in tact till the end of the party. 2: party host are given a ticket to the children. That ticket is one free drink. Keep in mind kids get thirsty especially if they are running around and racing. By the time they were finished with their second race. Their drinks were obviously finished. So I felt bad that the parents had to buy additional drinks. 3: when my guest were trying to check in to do their waiver. It was a glitch on the system because the group event wasn't populating so the guest had to sign the waiver as an arrive & drive which kind of held up everything. You have to let the employee know so they can link the signed waiver to your group. Helpful tips for parents who decide to throw their kids birthday there 1. Make sure everyone signs the waiver in advance. That would have saved us a lot of time. 2. Makes sure everyone is on time because you can not race until your whole party is there. 3. Also refrained from confetti or glitter nothing messy. They will charge a cleaning fee and they will let you know 4. They do 1 race and then maybe a 30 min interval. To let the carts charge and the kids just played in the arcades. Then they will call out your whole party by name to race for the second time. 5. When you inquire about your party and you put in your deposit don't forget to order your food. They give you 7 days prior to the party date to order. If we would have just went just on a random day. My review would have been different. I just think that when you are hosting you should be able to take care of everyone. That includes making sure the parents had drinks too and if the children wanting more drinks especially when it was time to eat.

They give new racers the run down on how everything works, the flag system, etc. Explained the red button on the steering wheel that should only be used if necessary to back up. When my husband asked if the green button on the steering wheel was to boost your speed, the guy said if you think it does, then yes. LOL The carts go fast and it's a lot of fun. I like that after your race, you can get your results up at the counter inside to see where you ranked, your fastest lap, etc. I had one incident on my last race where I spun out and then someone hit me at full force. The flag guy ran over to make sure I was OK. My pride made me tell him yes, I was fine but it actually hurt. But I'm a big girl and can handle getting roughed up a little. LOL Thankfully it happened on my last race because my car did not handle too well after that - it shook terribly. I felt that the staff were patient, helpful and want everyone to have a good time. Our only issue was that we waited forever for our last race. They never called our names and group after group after group went on the course. Turns out they had somehow forgot about us. Arcade games, food, photo opps are inside and like I said, we had the best time!
