Right out the gates is a short, testy, hard dog leg left that really has you thinking about your club selection. Followed by a long par three and a blind downhill par 4. Then you can settle in a bit. There are a lot of parallel fairways and not a whole lot of signs to help direct you where the tee boxes are so bring a golf app and keep your eyes open cause there isn't any GPS on the carts either. Most of the fairways were in good condition. And the greens were average speed, and some were very narrow. Although they didn't have a cart girl and one of the two water stations was empty, the course layout does bring you back to the club house a couple times on the front and back to refill on beverages and hydrate. Be careful if you're playing blues on 18, it's a steep dirt path up and you'll almost certainly slip and fall on the way down.

I ordered a club sandwich with french fries, and they were delicious. The bread is buttery toasted with quality tasting ham, turkey and bacon. Lettuce, tomato and cheddar cheese. However, they put A LOT of mayo on it too. The amount of French fries was huge! Good thing they reheat well in an air fryer. Service was fine, but she really didn't talk much, no real engagement with anyone. It also took forever to get whatever was asked for (side of dressing, ketchup and a ToGo box at the end) This establishment charges a 20% service fee "for better employee wages" but it was not told to us in advance (maybe it is posted on the menu I wasn't privy to). A great place to hang after a round a golf, as well as a destination to bike to right off the Greenbelt. The servers are really friendly, and seem to genuinely enjoy working there. I appreciate that you order at the counter, are given a buzzer, can pick your own seat, then the buzzer will go off when your food is ready. It keeps the clubhouse feeling very relaxed and we don't feel rushed to eat and go after a long round of golf. I would highly recommend stopping in and checking out the updated clubhouse.

With the time frame we were given, my father in law suggested us to play the wee 9 at Ridgecrest. It allowed us to get some holes in with enough time for my brother in law to head to the airport after. We were checking in at the desk for our tee time. The young man that was helping us wasn't the kindest. He treated us like we were bothering him for doing his job. Sucks to have someone like that start your day that way. We got our game paid for and waited for left handed clubs that we had requested. He got them for us, got our cart keys and headed to the green. Our tee time was at 9:20 so we were some of the first groups to head out. I did have to head back to get a couple clubs that were missing in the left handed set we requested. It was kind of frustrating that the clubs weren't ready. But we dealt with it and moved along with the game. The short course was fun. I just watched and enjoyed being with the boys. It was a pretty fast course so we got done in a timely manner. We turned in our carts and clubs in. That was my first time at Ridgecrest and it was fun. The course was great. Everything was pretty and serene. It was fun driving the cart on the course. It was overall a beast experience. It could have been flawless if the gentleman that helped us was nicer.

Price was too high for the small town it resides in. After getting home (we were visiting from another state, it appears we were charged for 6 players when we only had 5. We won 2 free games for getting the ball in the hole on the 19th, but gave them away since we won't be returning.

I played the White Clouds mountain course, 9 holes, and what a golfing experience and a challenge for sure; I love it. You may not score well but for sure you will think of every shot. I also played Trail Creek 18 holes, an amazing masterpiece among the rolling hills, the beautiful trees and the running creeks. Every golf hole is manicured to perfection and so enjoyable to walk and play. Sun Valley resort has done an amazing job to keep you playing and wanting to return again and again... The clubhouse is spectacular and the employees helpful and friendly. I really liked the course too. It was in great shape and the greens rolled very smooth and fast. The course is a Robert Trent jones design, so all of the holes were thoughtfully laid out and had just enough risk/reward to make it fun. After my round I just wanted to sit at the clubhouse and soak in the view and a thoughtful waitress brought me an ice water without me saying anything. I really like when places go above and beyond when it comes to service. I will be back for sure every time I am in Sun Valley.
