We had another excellent experience with Sylvan who installed an absolutely beautiful, maple hardwood floor "pathway" to allow us an easy walking surface in our upper level, so as we age, we will still be able to ambulate well in our home. I have a "round" house- and love wood- and didnt think I would be able to have it due to the curving walls and windows. Sylvan came up with a design that looks so gorgeous and we love our wood floors. He was timely, extremely helpful, top notch customer service, and we had multiple trades happening at once. Sylvan took time to cover the entire floor with protective paper so it would not get scratched by the other trades. I highly recommend Sylvan and his staff at Desert Hardwood Flooring if you're in the market for wood flooring. I reached out to Sylvan from out of state because we wanted to remove the carpet and install hardwood in our new home prior to move in. I had researched various flooring companies and decided that Desert Hardwood Flooring would be my premier choice based on several reviews and pictures of his work. What cemented that decision was the fact that Sylvan was very responsive, returning my call in a reasonable time frame. I can not emphasize enough how much appreciate the communication throughout the entire process. The work. After meeting with Sylvan, scoping the job and timeframe, we needed to return home in another state. We trusted Sylvan implicitly with the plan of action and the key to our home to complete the work. They did an exemplary job from beginning to end. Set expectations, followed through, cleaned up daily, and the craftsmanship was top notch. Our home had tile with carpet inlays. We kept the tile and replaced the carpeted areas. We also installed wood on the stairs down to the den area and replaced the carpet with wood there as well. Sylvan is an artist. He laid the wood perfectly at all the curves (and there were many) and diagonals. The stairway is a masterpiece. It's been several months now; we love our floors and could not be happier. He had an abundance of samples from different manufacturers from which to choose. The work was done with precision and care from start to finish. It all starts with good planning, which Sylvan did well. The execution was flawless. My floors are amazing and the house has been transformed! The hardest part of writing this review is where to start.....My husband and I moved to Prescott a little over a year ago, bought a twenty year old 4400 square foot house that needed lots of love, and completely gutted it. We decided to do 4000 square feet in hardwood and found a beautiful European Oak, eight inch plank in cream, grays and muted blue, and it's fabulous. The main reason it's incredibly beautiful is because of Sylvan Incao, owner of Desert Hardwood Flooring. Sylvan is truly an artist with an eye for color and detail. Being a designer myself, I was blown away by how he placed each piece in such a way, alternating the character to accent each plank, that it resembles an elegant canvas of color and texture. Every day I walk around this home and marvel at his expertise and talent. It's stunning. Then there are the stairs. We have Oriental carpets and planned to put a runner down to the lower level with carpet rods. When I saw the stairs and the pieces Sylvan had chosen for the bull nose, treads and risers, I knew the Oriental runner wasn't going to happen. They're just too pretty to cover up. When you walk up or down the stairs, your eyes are drawn to swirls and color and texture and design that very few people appreciate or are capable of designing, but that's just Sylvan. Professionally, Sylvan and his crew, Jessie and Ricky, are beyond reproach. They arrive on time, totally clean everything up before they leave daily and their work ethic is amazing.
