They are great at communicating with my mom if there is anything of concern. The meals are nutritious and their chef, Mark, knows every resident by name. Laundry and cleaning are done on a weekly basis. The property is landscaped beautifully and provides a serene and inviting environment for residents to sit outside on the multiple patio areas. Residents have daily activities they can choose from such as a morning coffee chat or Boggle in the afternoon along with yoga once a week. Kimberly, the Community Relations Director, is on top of any issues that may come up and treats the residents and family as if they are a part of her own family. It is a true community and family.

We researched many assisted living facilities in Albuquerque and ultimately decided on the Village at Alameda. The staff are warm and friendly, and extremely responsive to their residents, making sure that they are comfortable and safe. The rooms are cleaned, laundry is done on a weekly basis, beds are changed routinely, and the chef prepared meals are wonderfully delicious. There are daily activities, a wellness center for mild exercise, and a beauty shop and open patios where clients and family may enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Kimberly, the community relations director, goes out of her way to make sure that the transition from independent living is as smooth as possible, assisting both the client and the family. There is close communication between the staff and family members. This little jewel of a facility is located adjacent to the balloon fiesta park, nestled within established landscaping. It's a calm, inviting atmosphere for anyone. I highly recommend this facility for anyone.

If I hadn't moved him to this Beehive he probably wouldn't have lasted another 2 days. He arrived to his private room at the Beehive in the mid afternoon and by dinner time he was actually eating homemade soup and 1/2 a grilled cheese sandwich. This was amazing to all because he had pretty much stopped eating prior to arriving. My brother constantly raved about Betty's home cooking. The staff was very attentive to my brother with all of his needs such as bathing, changing his brief promptly and making sure he had everything he needed. The entire place including residents rooms and common areas were kept clean and spotless at all time. There was never any odors as it always smelled clean and fresh. I really want to thank everyone at Beehive, Jayne, Sarah, Barbara, Betty and all the staff their that made my brother feel so special with their kindness and above and beyond care. I give much credit to the Beehive and my brother's physical therapist for my brother being able to no longer need hospice after only 4 months at Beehive and be able to move to a new assisted living where he has his own apartment and takes care of himself now. It is extremely rare that anyone graduates hospice. Thank you Beehive!

When a fall 3 years ago forced her to move to assisted living, I knew we had to find her a "cruise ship in the desert", and we did!! Mom had lived in Albuquerque for more than 70 years and did not want to leave the city, My sister and I live in UT and CA and we knew the Amaran staff was dependable and never had a worry about mom being there by herself. She had lots of friends, enjoyed activities and going on outings and had a delightful apt. with a beautiful view of the Sandia Mountains. In her last days, the nursing staff was attentive, kind, loving and treated her with dignity. They took geniune care of mom and we saw that first hand as my sister and I were there for over a month with mom and watching. I have told my husband if I ever need assisted care, I want to go to Amaran in Albuquerque. I truly felt I was part of the family and loved everything there...including the beautiful facility!

When the residents complained about it, I personally heard the main chef snap at a couple of the residents. My Mom kept a clean apartment in the Independent Living. It was so nice that when they had prospective tenants come in, they would use my Mom's apartment for their tours. However, everything changed when I decided to move out of state and decided to take my Mom with me. When the movers finished we had the Maintenance guy come in for inspection. Before he was even all the way in her bedroom he said they'd have to replace the carpet. There was nothing wrong with it. I asked him why and he stated that he could see where she walked from the bathroom to the closet with her walker. (Normal wear for a Senior Living Facility? ) Seriously it wasn't bad at all but by how quickly he came up with it, I knew it was planned. Then he went to the spare bedroom that she never used and said there was a stain on the carpet. We told him it was there when she moved in. He said go talk to the Administrator Liz. So by the time I got up there she had already been informed that I was coming. She came out like a wet hen ready to fight. I reminded her that the stain was there when we moved Mom in. She said "show me in writing " she said that we should have filled out the checklist in Mom's lease. (The lease is 60+ pages that they had my Mom sign Docusign. How many nanogenerians do you know that understands Docusign? She would have had to print it and fill in the checklist. The Docusign is a PDF file so we couldn't add it to the agreement. My Mom told the office gal when she first moved in but nothing was written down. It didn't matter. They are charging my Mom for new carpet. What a way to treat our elderly. I know they are hurting for money but this is unethical and shameful. I'm personally glad my Mom isn't there anymore. I wonder how my Seniors have been taken advantage of like this..
