They are great at communicating with my mom if there is anything of concern. The meals are nutritious and their chef, Mark, knows every resident by name. Laundry and cleaning are done on a weekly basis. The property is landscaped beautifully and provides a serene and inviting environment for residents to sit outside on the multiple patio areas. Residents have daily activities they can choose from such as a morning coffee chat or Boggle in the afternoon along with yoga once a week. Kimberly, the Community Relations Director, is on top of any issues that may come up and treats the residents and family as if they are a part of her own family. It is a true community and family.

We researched many assisted living facilities in Albuquerque and ultimately decided on the Village at Alameda. The staff are warm and friendly, and extremely responsive to their residents, making sure that they are comfortable and safe. The rooms are cleaned, laundry is done on a weekly basis, beds are changed routinely, and the chef prepared meals are wonderfully delicious. There are daily activities, a wellness center for mild exercise, and a beauty shop and open patios where clients and family may enjoy the fresh air and sunshine. Kimberly, the community relations director, goes out of her way to make sure that the transition from independent living is as smooth as possible, assisting both the client and the family. There is close communication between the staff and family members. This little jewel of a facility is located adjacent to the balloon fiesta park, nestled within established landscaping. It's a calm, inviting atmosphere for anyone. I highly recommend this facility for anyone.

In 2011. when Dad needed assisted care, I found Beehive Homes in Albuquerque, a small facility of…read moreabout 15 residents. The place was great, except that it was 65 miles away and every time I had to take Dad to a doctor's appointment it was an all day event for me. During his stay here, the owner of the facility told me about a veteran's benefit I might get for Dad. He then told me he could pay for a lawyer (!) to file the case with VA. Dad got the VA pension because of Michael and Beehive Homes. It took a while to get the pension, even with the lawyer doing most of the work. During that time, I ran out of funds and moved Dad to Pacifica Rosemont. What a mistake! This was an enormous facility that you could get lost in, even without dementia. The staff were sparse but well meaning, but it was a bad deal all around. When Dad's VA pension started coming in, I moved him to the Santa Fe Beehive Homes which was way more expensive than the "big box" facility but you know, you get what you pay for. Again, the people at Beehive Homes went out of their way to help me get Dad's long term care insurance payments. Manager Kelly Hanlin, filled out a plethora of paperwork and faxes and phone calls to help me. I cannot recommend this place enough. These people are caring, honest, and go out of their way to do the right thing. In my book, that's perfection.

Excellent end of life care. It is a well run operation. I wish they had an enclosed outside area but I hear that is coming. Wonderful staff. My parents have both been in other facilities in Santa Fe and Taos and beehive is the best. It is small and family like with private rooms with private bathrooms. Director is very accommodating.

When she moved in to indepentant living she was shy about meeting new people but she blossomed in her time here. Our favorite part about Fairwinds was the kindness of the staff. They treated our mom with love and respect every day. From Doralei Perea the GM, the wait staff in the restaurant, the cleaning people, the handymen, the drivers, the health & wellness staff, and the folks at the front desk everyone who is employed at Fairwinds does an important job of caring for the residents. Our mom moved into assisted living in January and we were impressed that the team met her needs. When she passed away everyone was so caring. We are grateful to the entire Fairwinds team and how they made the last years of our moms life joyful.

They do a a wonderful job admitting you then it's quickly downhill from there. They have adequate staff around the clock, just not adequate enough to tend to or provide you sufficient care for you to get better to return home. They kept my MIL's door closed almost at all times. That's attentive, alright.... They took longer than 30+ minutes every single time to tend to her. This included accidents that could've have been prevented. The professionalism and demeanor is insulting considering the field they are in. This includes the management staff. I hope DOH steps in and requires the company re-trains the whole skilled nursing staff and team. Please discuss with your doctors/loved ones before agreeing to transfer here from the hospital post surgery or in need of wound care.
