The practice tried to code in this appointment as my physical without my knowledge and had me fill out a form with aprox. 15 questions which this doctor let me know what considered a typical sufficient physical. Mind you, there was no actual verbal questions about my general health, about how my body was feeling, nor was there an actual physical exam. When questioned about this, he smiled, shook his head and walked out. Some of the NPs here are alright, but my general recommendation would be to avoid this practice.

After an initial consultation, you will receive a treatment plan. Mine included physical therapy, chiropractic adjustments, decompression table, massage and trigger point injections for my back pain. Most insurances have such a high deductibles now a days that it can be difficult to get treatment paid for, but Southwest Family Medical works with you to try and figure out the easiest way for you to pay and get the treatment you need. The staff is great. The girls at the front desk are so sweet. The massage therapist is AMAZING. Dr Taylor is so knowledgeable and takes the time to listen to you. Because I don't have any complex medical conditions they have become my primary care office too! I'm living life so much fuller now that I know how to manage my back problems and know that I have a team to turn to when I need them.

The woman who was doing my initial intake, said, "so you're here for back and neck pain. Where does it hurt in your back and neck?" I said, I'm not here for back and neck pain, it does say on the forms I filled out She flipped through a bunch of forms and says "so it gets worse with anxiety and stress?" I never said any of these things... So I asked her, "do you have the right chart in front of you?" Now this woman with plenty nice, but when she left, she did not come back right away. This gave me a bad feeling, they didn't even know who I was or which problems I was coming in for. I stopped at the front desk and asked to be refunded my $84 as I wasn't seen by anybody. The woman at the front desk said the manager would be calling me. Two hours later, I called and left a message to see when that would be credited Then around 4 PM. I called and was told the manager would call me before the end of the day. I have yet to speak to the manager or see any indication that that amount had been credited. I never have to wait long for my appointments and Dr Lehrer is always patient and answers any questions I have without making me feel like he's rushing me out. I've also had a medical assistant help administer shots and she was the same way, very patient and happy to answer my questions.
