The care and attention given to my father was professional, knowledgeable, and sincere during his stay and especially during his last days.

I was about to learn another huge lesson: high ratings on a website means nothing. Life Care Center smells like urine as soon as you walk in and you better know where you're going and have a room number because you can't ever find someone that works there. This place is more rest home than rehab...what am I saying, this is a nursing home. The rehab this facility offers is a joke. They wheel out their patients into the hallway and they sit there ALL DAY never getting changed and reeking of urine. It's a pretty sad scene, I cried the first time I came to visit my loved one here and started working immediately to get them out of that horrible place. After a few days of fighting with the insurance company, they won and we had to settle in that crap hole for 4 months. With only our sense of humor to fall back on we started calling it skid row for seniors. The food was horrible. The rehab was nonexistent. I had a really bad experience in a meeting with the director, head nurse and physical therapist but it gave me a better understanding of why this facility is so mismanaged. The nurses try to put everyone in these "protection pants", the best way I can describe them is as a cushioned chastity belt. Apparently they are supposed to protect you from injuring yourself when you fall but I believe they use them because they keep the urine from leaking everywhere. We declined signing the consent to wear the pants and the orderly whispered "good, these poor people are too dim witted to know what they are signing".

My mother had heart failure. As a result she loss some oxygen and blood flow to her brain. It effected her memory somewhat and caused her to be very weak and she becomes exhausted doing simple task. She stayed in the hosputal a lil under 2 weeks simply trying to BREATH. She was assigned here. I wish I knew enough to have her sent to another facility to regain her skills. The speech therapist had no ideal what cognitive exercises we could use with my mother outside of the few she herself did. When I told her of several memory exercises her hospital therapist suggested we work during our family interaction with my mom, this therapist seemed surprised and said she would think about something we could do. I wanted to ask her if she graduated or is simply fulfilling hours for a requirement. My guess is the latter. I saw the physical therapist come in and do 3 simple arm exercises with her. Not one time did I hear him ask her to do any on her own. He also did not give her exercises she could complete on her own to improve any of her motor skills. The nursing staff I saw the Friday I visited were less than professional. NO ONE wore gloves nor did I see anyone utilize hand sanitizer between patients, before or after patient interaction. This was especially disconcerting because my mom got pneumonia since her arrival and can to risk more germs. When I mentioned to several aides to wear gloves they appeared pissed or rolled their eyes but did comply. I found myself Clorex wipes on everything in the room. I can say that as i spent the 2 weekend overnights with my mom in an uncomfortable chair, I saw 2 or 3 CNA'S and 1 nurse who were caring, compassionate and professional. This is definitely not the norm. Slow call button response had me moving my mother to the restroom myself. Loud employees repeatedly outside the door had me closing it and suffering thru the stuffiness in the hot room. And I'm not sure why the staff chose to talk louder and louder during their interactions with my mom when she kept trying to tell them her various concerns with her I'll fitting oxygen mask. I have to leave and return to California today but am hesitant to do so. I am worried that her care is not in the best of hands and wonder what would happen had I not been by her side. Her sisters will continue to be vigilant until I return but in the interm, we are looking to move her asap.

As per the short term rehab facility a nurse was suppose to call me on Monday, Oct. 14th. The nurse did not visit with me till Wednesday, October 16th. At that meeting I was informed I would receive 4 PT and 1 OT session. I was also "told" they only had one OT and he was a male. I called the agency and told them I wanted a female not a male and that I wanted the OT to assist me with taking a shower to ensure I was safe. I waited till 1 PM on Thursday, Oct 17th for the PT to call me with an appointment. Since I didn't hear from the PT by 1 PM I called the agency to inform them I still did not have an PT appointment scheduled. An hr later I did receive a call from the PT and an appointment was scheduled for Friday, Oct. 18th. The PT suggested I have the male OT come and work with me on my rotator cuff that was operated on 7/25 and that a female home service person come to assist me with a shower. I agreed to both. Today no call or appointment from the agency, the female home service rep nor the OT. I had my 2nd PT appointment scheduled for tomorrow however, the time was not locked in. When I text the PT that I saw on Friday to tell him I did not hear from his backup yet regarding the time tomorrow I did receive a call/appointment within 1 hr. I fired Hacienda Home Services today due to the lack of communication, the fact that no nurse was at my house till 3 days after my discharge, the fact that I still had no OT appointment and that I had to call and complain regarding no PT appointment scheduled till Thursday afternoon as well as no call or appointment from Home Services regarding assisting with a shower. Basically I wanted someone present to ensure I did not fall. The company could care less about my safety, my care and my ability to get back to normal. I would not recommend Hacienda Home Services. They failed to provide me the services I needed and were not in place ahead of my release from rehab.

Because I manage his care from 5,000 miles away with an 8-hour time difference, I needed an agency that was organized, communicative, and clinically prepared. While the initial intake call was reassuring--I was promised that a single dedicated nurse (Ashley) would handle both an introductory visit and a crucial upcoming neurology appointment to ensure continuity--everything following that call was complete operational chaos. Dangerous Lack of Clinical Preparation: The primary reason for the neurology visit was to manage a safe medication titration schedule and handle lab work for my father's epilepsy. Despite emailing a medical summary in advance, speaking to Allie on the phone for the better part of an hour, and texting Chi two days before the appointment, the neurologist's office emailed me the following day without the faintest idea about the reason for the appointment. According to the neurologist, the person sent by Navi Nurses brought zero medical context and simply told the doctor that she had only met my father 30 minutes prior and knew nothing about him. Broken Continuity & Lack of Planning and Communication: Despite explaining my time difference and the critical need for consistency for a patient with severe vision loss and dementia, Navi Nurses swapped the assigned staff at the last minute. The replacement texted me minutes before the visit at 10:00 PM my time. After I had already prepared my father for one specific person, this sudden swap added unnecessary confusion and distress for him. Extortionate Cost for Zero Value: In total, this single appointment cost me $760--a $250 initial setup fee, $350 for the nurse to accompany my father to an appointment just 10 minutes away, and $160 for the transport vehicle. Paying nearly $800 for what amounted to an unprepared transit chaperone rather than professional care navigation is completely indefensible. Administrative & Billing Disarray: Basic onboarding failed due to date-of-birth errors on their platform. Worse, after paying the $250 fee, my saved credit card was recharged $350 without explicit consent. Despite paying the remaining balance in full on July 23rd, billing emailed me again two weeks later asking for another $350 payment. Navi Nurses charges premium prices while delivering disjointed communication, zero clinical preparation to physicians, and sloppy financial oversight. If you need dependable, prepared, and accountable care navigation for a vulnerable loved one--especially from a distance--do not trust this company. I will not be using them again.

I Beg to differ. Things are not always what they seem. The place is inviting, the atmosphere is calm, and people seem like they really enjoy what they do. I was skeptical of what I was seeing. My sister required skilled nursing services several times in the last few years and her experiences with other facilities in the Valley were not pleasant. She was sent to facilities in West Phoenix, Scottsdale and South Phoenix that did not provide the attentive care that she received at Suncrest Healthcare Center. I know this because I received many calls from her with concerns about her care in other places. When she was at Suncrest Health Care Center she received Iv antibiotic therapy in addition to Physical therapy. The staff at Suncrest Healthcare Center were attentive and engaging. They are very knowledgeable and professional. They showed that they genuinely care about their Residents. The Residents and the staff really care about each other. They are like one big family. This is unusual in these days and time. Every day may be different but the care that my sister received was consistent. My sister, I, and my family were pleased with the care that she received at Suncrest. I want to give a shout out to all the Staff members at Suncrest Healthcare Center you made a difference for her, and I saw you make a difference for other Residents, you are appreciated!
