I was seen for Hashimoto's by the PA. Very pleased with the care. I had a blood draw and it was pleasant. Sounds wierd, but true. I was reluctant You do wait and you do have to request to see the Dr otherwise you will receive an appointment with PA aI kept getting a recording when I made my first appointment It was a 6 month wait to see a Endocrinologist with high ratings They also have one room lab on site My local lab was closed I also went for blood work it took them awhile just to input my paperwork, as I was having my blood drawn a young very unkept man walks in and says he has a package to deliver they send him out to the office he looked very nervous and scared holding this small package. When I finally walk out of the lab he is still there nervous and scared holding the small package weird They said my test would take about 2days for results on my thyroid . Ok good it's been a week and now they want me to come in again. I have been going to Endo Doctors for many years . My next appointment is Monday I can't put my finger on it just seems ? Worst office EVER! Buckle up folks, this will be a long one! I noticed a lump on the right side of my neck in March. I had my primary dr send a referral to Simon Med (also terrible!) to further investigate the lump via ultrasound. Desert Sky was booking at least 4-6 weeks out, since they only have 1 dr and 1 PA on staff and one of them are always on vacation :/ so after waiting way too long to go over the ultrasound results, the PA says that she sees at least 4 nodules on my thyroid that will need to be looked at further. So, supposedly they were sending an order to Simon med for a thermal scan. When never received a scheduling call from Simon Med, I try to get a hold of anyone at Desert Sky and I am repeatedly unsuccessful. They have implemented a " texting" feature but it's terrible as well. So, I start texting asking them to please send over the order to get the scan scheduled. Finally, days later I get a call from Simon med, we schedule my scan for 3 weeks from then. The day before my scan Simon Med cancels, saying that they don't have the iodine needed for this particular scan ugh! I reschedule, and it's 3 weeks out again. Then the morning of my scan they call to tell me the machine isn't working, and they cancel again! By this time it's been 3 months since I've initially found the lump. I'm fed up and I ask Desert Sky to send the order to Banner Imaging instead. Do you think it was done in a timely manner?? Nah, another week goes by and finally Banner calls me to schedule the scan. But not for, yep you guessed it 3 weeks! I went in for the scan on a Wednesday (and Thursday, it's a 2 day process) and I called Desert Sky the following week to see if the results were in. After numerous calls and texts, finally they say yes and schedule my follow up appointment 4 weeks from then:(( I start to feel like I'm in a third world country and give up all hope of ever finding out if I have cancer. The day before my follow up appointment the office calls to try and cancel, saying the dr has covid. I reply with, "if she's home she can do a telehealth call" and how I've been severely neglected as a patient! We schedule the call for the next day at 10:30 and she calls me 20 minutes late, and offers zero apologies! It's this phone call that she tells me that they have never once looked at the lump on my neck, and that they have only been looking at my thyroid!! I'm in shock, and utter disbelief! And way beyond pissed! She literally felt the lump in March, when I saw her! She followed up with, "we don't deal with lymph nodes!" She says she'll order a biopsy of the nodules on my thyroid. After a week of calling and begging for them to send the biopsy order in I finally get sick of it and show up there at 8:05 am on a Monday. The order magically appears in my hand! She assures me she'll send it right over to banner. I call banner to verify that they've received it and she tells me that they received a blank order!! WTH?! I felt like I was in the twilight zone! I text the office and they rudely reply and tell me that's not possible to send a blank order! I ask her to send it again. 2 days later the scheduling dept at banner calls. I go in for my biopsy and they said I'd have my results in 2-3 days. I text the office to see if they are in, and they say no. I called Banner and not only were the results in, but they did in fact send them to my dr! I'm waiting to see my new endo next week and go over the results. I'm still in shock that I've been dealing with this since March, and I still don't know if the lump I've been sporting for 6 months is cancerous!! Do yourself a favor and run as fast as you can from Desert Sky!! Simon Med too! read more

I love This office. Every single staff member I have dealt with knew exactly what is going on and the flow is seamless. They have in-house Sonora Quest and the front desk people are great! The doctor's assistants get the prescription requests accurate the first time and every time. Dr. Kannan actually listens to your situation and concerns. I am thrilled that I found a "whole office" to handle my diabetes and thyroid issues! I would give them more than 5 stars if it was possible. read more

First visit, walked out. If I could give no stars I would. Since when do you have to sign in 15 minutes before your appointment and then sit there 30 minutes past your appointment? So waste 45 minutes of my time because apparently you think I should. And when the entire lobby empties and is seen before you are called back, regardless of whether they came in 10 minutes after you or 30 minutes after you, it doesn't exactly impress new patients. And say, a quick apology...she's running late, sorry for the wait, anything? Nothing? Ok, got it. So, now I'm not a new patient. I'll also make sure my cardiologist is informed since the recommendation came from his office. Makes me wonder about my cardiologist?! read more

I made an appointment to get a second opinion about how my gynecologist treats my hypo thyroid. I met with the physician's assistant who was young and spoke down to me the entire time. I'm a 50 year old woman. This "doctor" talked to me like a child who doesn't understand numerical reports (I'm a CPA) nor understand basic calorie counting and nutrition nor understand my own body and medical history. She didn't listen to what I said. Also, apparently this location uses old school requirements of not medicating for TSH levels unless they are over 4. My primary doctor has a threshold of 3 for medication, and my gynecologist threshold is 2 if symptoms are prevalent with required follow up to ensure ranges are normal The positive thing I can say is the receptionist was super nice and efficient. Every appointment including Virtual they were anywhere from an hour to 2 hours late. The Dr did seem like she was trying to get things figured out for me. She ran tons of tests unfortunately her staff dropped the ball on the last set of tests by not sending them to Sonora Quest, then left me a voicemail about how it was my fault even though the only reason I had a follow up visit was because I was supposed to get those tests done. So I'm not impressed. Also totally one of those doctors that doesn't listen to anything you say so when then say why are you here don't bother going into detail because they're just going to go down the form and ask you everything at least 3 times. read more

I have been going to Dr. KANNAN since 2014 and she is awesome. I travel 35mins out of my way to see her. Always understanding, and makes sure you know and understand the treatment plan you have discussed. I have never had problems with appointments, and they always send my lab work either by paper or electronically. read more

As several others have posted previously, the doctor (Dr. Kannan) is rude, abrupt, and doesn't seem interested in learning about you or your symptoms before making her decisions or judgements. She has zero bed side manner. I've never been treated so rudely by a doctor before. Her intern was very personable and made me feel very comfortable at first. But the minute Dr. Kannan walked in the room, she talked down to me and made me feel like all of my symptoms were somehow my fault. She walked out of the room without trying to smooth over the situation even though I was obviously crying and upset. I have never had such an awful experience with a doctor before. The office did not provide follow up instructions for half of the tests I was supposed to have done. When I texted the office to try and get clarity on the blood work I needed done, they said "we've already given you instructions...what other instructions do you need?" Absolutely awful. I guess being unpleasant is the name of the game at this office. I don't know why people have to be this way. What a waste of time, given that I had to wait two months for my appointment and I spent over 30 minutes filling out all the necessary pre-paperwork. No stars! They don't answer the phone and want you to text. I went there in early 2022 and received a bill last week for a co payment for a date I paid at time of visit. The billing dept never returned my call. The office manager was rude and hung up on me before I pull request a statement showing the visit I supposedly didn't pay. I wonder how many seniors get conned by this office. On top of that, they never helped me with my concerns last year so I found another doctor who was competent. read more

I chose this dermatology business mostly because of location , as I had never been to a dermatologist before. I wanted to have a spot on my leg looked at, so I made an appointment. The wait was not long, and soon I was in a room answering the usual questions. Pretty soon a NP (?) came in and took a look at the spot. She said it was a 'normal' spot - she used a medical term I do not recall - and recommended that she check elsewhere, as well. My wife had mentioned a spot on my back, so she took a look. She explained it was a -again, a medical term unknown to me, and recommended a biopsy, to which I agreed. The numbed me up. took a piece off, and sent me on my way with care instructions. I was told I would hear back in a week or so with the results. They use a text bot messaging system called Klara to communicate. I didn't hear anything back for a bit, so I reached out on the Klara app. I received a response that it was pre-cancerous and should be removed. I scheduled an appointment for the procedure (through the app) and was told someone would reach out to me regarding insurance and other things. As my appointment date got closer, I was waiting to hear what my out of pocket expense would be, how long I might be unable to work, you know, real life questions. I never heard back and was getting a bad feeling about the whole thing. I messaged them through the app that I was canceling the procedure. I heard nothing back at all. In fact when I went into Klara a few days later to check for messages, my account was not even there any longer. Shady at best, in my opinion. I do not recommend read more

If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. My boyfriend is trans and was on HRT for years before he moved to back with his dad to Maryland and his insurance changed. When he came back to AZ he wanted to get his prescription for testosterone again. This place was covered by insurance so he thought he'd give it a try. Dr. Kannan told him that in order for her to prescribe the HRT that he'd need a psychological test. Even though he had literally been prescribed it before no problems. He binds every day all day long, dresses in mens clothes and has since he was a kid, has facial hair and a men's haircut and yet he had to get a psychological test?? This was at the beginning of covid so open psychological appointments were months out and it left my boyfriend struggling with his mental health for a year. Turns out every psychologist he went to couldn't do testing like that because testing for being trans DOESN'T EXIST. Fast forward to now he just went to minuteclinic at CVS and they were happy to provide an HRT clinic that isn't transphobic. They told him they had NEVER heard of a psychological test for HRT and that the psychological test was just a way for the doctor to refuse service because she's transphobic. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU'RE TRANS. TL;DR- Dr. Kannan refused HRT for my boyfriend even though he had it before because they're transphobic read more
