This used to be a premier pharmacy. They are no longer. They didn't even show up today to open their store until 20 min past opening time. Multiple times I have received txt that rx are ready just to show up and they are not ready. I have had instances where I have picked up and left just to get a txt that another rx is ready. I'd give them zero stars if I could. Totally pain to get anything done. I'm leaving this week for my wedding and honeymoon and will be out of the country when my refills are due. I spoke to my doctor, who ok'd it, my insurance who ok'd it and told me if there was a problem to have the pharmacist call them. He flat out refused. Said he didn't feel comfortable doing it because it's a controlled substance, a sleeping pill. I can't stand pharmacists that interject their own personal feelings in their business and contrary to what the doctor has prescribed. I don't know what Cracker Jacks box he got his degree in but they have made a stressful time just that much more stressful. read more

I don't know why I haven't left a review before now, shame on me. I've been a customer here since he opened, Tai's kids were Littles and there was just Tai and one other person. Now his young adults are in college and it's Tai and a cast of wonderful and caring people. There are always 5 or 6 people behind the counter and they keep it efficiently moving while being kind and patient. Tai patiently answers my ongoing questions and untangles the endless knots of doctors and insurance coverage. Alan is quick to get things ready for me, he goes out of his way to help me with the door and to get to my car. Alina is so personable, smart, quick and efficient, any business would be blessed to have her. Ginger and everyone else are equally impressive and pleasant, I just can't list everyone. I miss Holly and Arianna. I've recommended Desert Sky to everyone and anyone and I'll continue to do so. Tai and company are an integral part of my health care team and I feel that they care about my well-being. This is the best pharmacy I have ever used, by far. If only they had a location nearer my home, I would never need to use another. The two major nationwide chains could benefit greatly by learning a thing or ten from Desert Sky Pharmacy. Not only would their customers and staff be happier, but their profits would likely increase from staff retention alone. It's amazing, and probably a bit insane, the distance I'm willing to drive for the customer service regularly provided by the pharmacist and techs at Desert Sky. They've independently sought online coupons in years past (when my insurance coverage was "lacking") to help save me money, filled my prescriptions quickly, and been kind throughout the entire process. Not even local grocery stores can be relied upon for that kind of service these days, and they don't have to deal with insurance companies! read more

This was the worst experience I've ever had. I called to find out if they carried a difficult to find prescription, they didn't, but they said they could order it. I had the doctor send a prescription, and the next day I called. I was told that they couldn't get it. Wha.... Okay, I called my doctor back, and they then told her they did have it. The next day when I called back, I was told they had a box on the shelf for me. Whaaaa.... Okay, I told them I would be by that day. I went in and they told me my copay was $600, far and above more expensive than ANY other pharmacy. I suggested they check if they had my insurance correct because I pay $30 for the same drug at CVS, Costco, AND Walgreens (but like I said, this is hard to find right now). She ran it again, and said that nope, it would be $600. The man next to her helping another customer said, "Oh yeah, companies have preferred drugstores. It's illegal, but it happens. You have to call them and deal with it." Whaaaaaaaa. Before I could ask HOW to deal with it or point out that as a customer I have no idea what the law is, the woman helping me literally leaned to the side and asked to help the next customer in line, leaving me standing there. If the world ends and they have the last bottle of Tylenol, I won't buy from these rude, dismissive, dishonest people who can't decide if they have a drug or not, who give different answers depending on who is on the phone, and who can't take two minutes to help someone who needs a critical diabetes medicine. I would rather give all my money to soul-sucking mega corporations than these idiots. read more

I used to love this pharmacy. The employees were very friendly, and they knew me by sight. Now it appears the friendly people are gone, replaced by a very rude young man who didn't listen when I gave my name, and immediately asked for my date of birth. When I told him demanding someone say their date of birth aloud in a small pharmacy with no customer privacy is a HIPAA violation, he said "I've been in this business a long time and I'm allowed to ask that." Trust me, I have been in the health care business for longer than he has, and at a higher level. Customers have the right to keep their Personal Health Information secure. I don't expect everyone at this pharmacy to recognize me, but if I'm going to be treated rudely and like a number I might as well go back to a big box pharmacy which gives better service. read more

I hesitated using this pharmacy because I did not know anything about it, additionally it is farther away from home than the pharmacy I have used for years. I am very grateful that I gave this pharmacy the opportunity to fill my prescriptions. I find that they are professional, friendly and actually go out of their way to assist me in finding the lowest cost possible for the meds I have. I wish I had known about this place years ago. You can tell he is living the "American Dream" by the amount of respect he gives to you and has also made sure his assistants treat you with. There is no other pharmacy I could compare them to. I've always gone to big chain pharmacies my whole life (CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Walmart) and never realized how bad they actually are. Desert Sky always has my prescriptions ready in less than 5 minutes. The employees and pharmacists are so friendly and helpful it's insane. When I go in, I feel like I'm meeting up with friends. Since we've been in the Valley for 20 years, we've used Safeway pharmacy and on occasion Cigna's pharmacy. After much dissatisfaction we tried Desert Sky which is down the street. It is hands down an amazing pharmacy...simply in customer service alone. They are always concerned about my out of pocket cost and will look for coupons for us. My scripts are always ready. They offer to fill scripts that have come due...keeping us more compliant with our medicine than we naturally are. Their friendly customer service is second to none. read more

I just moved from California to teach here in Peoria less than a month ago. I had brought with me a prescription from my doctor and when CVS told me that the medication was on backorder, I came here to see if they had any in stock. The pharmacist refused to fill the prescription because it was from out of state even though he admitted that he had the medication in stock. I realize that I had an unusual issue, but there is no Arizona law nor is there a guideline that states that they cannot take out of state prescriptions. He admitted that it was a not a law, but they would not even try to help me. This place is right down the street from my work and I would love to support a small local pharmacy over a corporate chain. But they don't want my business. read more

This Pharmacy was recommended by my physician Dr. Sloan. I was hesitant at first, thinking a smaller pharmacy would mean long wait times, etc. Boy - was I WRONG! This place is a gem. The techs are courteous and even address you by name, your prescriptions are ready in a jiffy and they are so warm and friendly. They go out of the way to apply any RX discounts or pharmaceutical company coupons they can (something that CVS and Walgreens avoid like the plague) and you can clearly tell they are about provided great service at a reasonable cost. I can't say enough here on how much I like going to this Pharmacy! They are the nicest group of people that greet you by name every time you walk in the door. They will even start getting your prescriptions ready as soon as they can as soon as they recognize you. You can tell they actually care about you and your needs and treat you like you're one of their family, the way you would wish that every place else would do the same. Every other Pharmacy I've ever used I always had some sort of issues with the communication between them and my doctor but not Desert Sky, not one issue yet. Most of the time they are ahead of me with having my medications up to date so that I don't run out. I hate even doing this review because I am selfish and don't want to share them with anyone else! As long as I'm in the Phoenix metro, even if I have to drive 2 hours out of my way, I will NEVER go to another pharmacy. They've always been so great to me that they will have my loyalty as long as they're there. Sometimes a manufacturer for controlled substances will have trouble and they won't be able to fill my pain meds, but they're so great I don't mind. I'll get my pain meds elsewhere when I absolutely have to, but they're worth making the trip to 2 different pharmacies so that I can get everything else from them. In 2011, when a group of men harassed me and were physically threatening me, the pharmacist was willing to go outside to make sure the hooligans left and they made sure I was ok. There was one day I was there and a woman who seemed to be about to pass out from medications post-procedure and they wouldn't let her leave. They let her sit down in the chair and kept watch over her until someone could come get her safely. This isn't just some "chain pharmacy" or generic "mom and pop shop".... In all honesty, this is the ONLY pharmacy I can ever remember going to in Arizona where every person working there genuinely cared about everyone they helped. I've been there enough that they recognise my voice on the phone and don't even need to ask the extra details. They know when it's time to fill my meds and don't even have to ask me (and sometimes they've reminded ME when I needed to go get something, which, when you have something like epilepsy is a real Godsend considering the vigilance required in keeping track). I have NEVER seen them look upset or in a bad mood. They smile and are nice to everyone. Even the cranky ones. And after a couple of times, they generally remember who you are and treat you like a long-distant friend. I know this sounds a lot like the owners planting a comment or putting a friend up to it... But sincerely these people are great. And I've recommended everyone I come across to go to them because they really are that good. You guys are truly AWESOME. read more

What a great pharmacy. I was having problems finding a medicine in stock normally I go to cvs never again will I use another pharmacy these guys are great. They not only had my medicine my Rx was done in 5 minutes and they went out of there way to help me figure out how to get a refund with my insurance company due to a prior authorization not being ready. Really great customer service. In a day and age that feels like the medical community treats patients like numbers rather than people it is so wonderful to see medical professionals who treat people like people.
