Sometimes deliveries are confusing as to whether they are coming to my off-grid address or the post office. Understanding that I chose to live near the middle of nowhere, having postal service with friendly folks is a treat. Once a week I travel to the post office, it is a fifteen mile journey through the hot, dusty mountain desert where sunburn, heat stroke and dehydration is a constant threat. I look forward to the happy faces and the bowl of candy. The public area is always clean and maintained. I don't know how they do it but I have never had to avoid stray cattle, horses or wild donkeys in the parking lot.

My packages got sent to the local post office I called them 25 times over a four day. Never getting an answer, I drove 65 miles to the post office. They were open and they told me my packages were just sent back. I asked him if the phones were down because I called them so many times they said they have the wrong phone number listed. I told him I called the Post Office main # to locate a post office to , get the phone number for the Concho post office and they gave me the same number I had been calling it's the wrong number so they don't get any phone calls. Maybe they like it that way but it cost me 130 mile round-trip to get nothing would've been nice to get a hold of somebody at the Post Office . I was trying to reach the post office I was trying to reach was in Concho,, AZ 85924. Someone should look into that. And post the correct number that was rather frustrating.

But the population swells in the summer with tourists. Show Low lies on the Mogollon Rim on the eastern side of central Arizona. It is at an elevation of 6,345 feet so a place for those living in the Phoenix area to escape the heat. It's a small enough to get around easy and, yet, large enough to have a variety of restaurants and shops. There are many lakes and creeks for outdoor activities. Show Low is a fun place to visit. There are plenty of activities to keep all ages happy!

This building is on the main road through town making it much easier than the other one off of 6th Street which was harder to find. The Police Department has many services for the public. It's worth driving by to check out the new building.

He was tailgating horribly, I couldn't even see his headlights in my rear view mirror because he was that close. When the SLPD arrived, Ofc. Walker and Sgt. Eberline lied right to my face about 2 separate issues. Then, it took those 2 bumbling buffoons almost 4 weeks to complete the police report (probably because they knew they were going to get caught in their lies) and, when I did receive a copy, it read like a 2nd grade book report that was supposed to be about The Cat in the Hat and they read 1 Fish 2 Fish, Red Fish Blue Fish. My vehicle description was completely inaccurate (make, model, and color), the description of the accident was wrong, and the speed was wrong. They "estimated" I was traveling at 80 mph, which is impossible on that road. I went up the chain of command and spoke with a lieutenant, who is a traffic accident reconstruction specialist, and he confirmed they used the wrong formula and the speed should've been listed at around 50 mph. I knew SLPD had a reputation for being one of THE WORST departments in the state, but I had no idea how bad it really was until I actually had to interact with them. If you ever have the misfortune of dealing with them, RECORD EVERYTHING! They will lie, repeatedly, and they can't be trusted to do a simple traffic report let alone anything serious.

This small building between the Dollar store and Cal Ranch. It's an improvement from the last one…read morein a small modular building. You enter and go either to the Information Desk for most everything of the Express MVD computer for only those procedures listed on the computer. There is one person at the Information Desk so you wait a bit but the line moves along. The one negative thing is the appointment line registers at the information desk so anyone in that lane cuts directly into the info line in front of all who have been waiting. That procedure needs to be addressed! After you wait in the first line, you get a number to wait in the second area-this time sign chairs. You then go to one of the windows when called to get the job done. Service was pretty good. This is the only show in town for many of the DMV procedures so most in town will go here or drive to another town.

Bought Patricia Cromwell and Amy Tan novels and discovered an excellent copy of the Day of the Trifids audiobook. My father-in-law also bought some books of his favorite authors. The place is nice and cool in the summer (the central a/c was heavenly) and they have a roaring fire in the gas fireplace in the winter. They also have a bank of computers for internet surfing and an adorable kids library. This is easily my favorite place in Show Low!

The library has everything you might need to rent or borrow/checkout; CD's, DVD's, kitchen instrument's, meeting rooms, computers and of coarse books. I'm sure there are many things I don't know about but this is a staff friendly place to enjoy some quiet time at a library. The on-line system is very easy to use when reserving books.

It will be the building on the left (big sign overhead) There was one person leaving when we got there around 12:30pm and no one else was in the building. Mary helped us and she fast, efficient and friendly! We had a month on the title but didn't want to have to come back out so we got a year from August. This agency is really run well.
