The grounds are almost as beautiful as the souls of those attending. If you become a Member, expect an email when you miss because they sincerely care about every member of the congregation. It took just a few weeks at First Christian Church and we met many new friends. There are activities and programs (educational and fun) for every age group. Children are cherished and members in this diverse congregation support each other. We've searched for a church home for a long time and now our search is over. This is another one of the network of redemption churches there's Arcadia which is this one there's Tempe, Gilbert , North mountain, Gilbert, Tucson Peoria. This location is hermeneutically sound as they do line by line expository preaching, the Lord's supper, and exegesis of the text read. The Lord's supper is bread and wine and it's pieces of bread and a ball of wine you dip your bread in and then go back to your seat while you worship and wait for everybody to go back to their seats. The worship is contemporary, However it's not ethnically engaging there are large multitudes of people that are white American All over All the churches of redemption and extremely very very very few people of color. Redemption Church isn't for minorities. When Tyler Johnson who is now part of the missional training center and the human element directed these churches people of color felt safe I went last Sunday and I was the only African-American in the church I sat all the way in the back .. nobody greets you everybody keeps to themselves.

The criteria were that it has to be biblically sound and not have gone "woke" during covid. I won't mention the others that I considered which then I eliminated as possibilities bc I read some not so good things about them from the low ratings of things like pastors who kept the church closed (much longer than even the State of AZ required), etc. This church was great and so welcoming. We got there right on time, but not early so the worship was starting. The lady at the info booth welcomed us warmly and got our info for my kids to go to Sunday school after the worship part of the service. The worship team was engaging without being "showy," and effectively led the congregation to focus on worshipping the Lord. They only sang about 3 songs and then Pastor Allen spoke on Ancient ways for Modern families: Flourishing. It was a really good message that was applicable to real life and most of all memorable too (if you can't remember what you heard, you can apply it). I even took notes and sent them to my hubby. After service, we went to the gathering room where there were a little bit of sweet treats left (there was a lot for mother's day it seems) and a few people came up and chatted with us. That was very nice of them and we had enough commonalities as Christians and similar views to chat at length even. Overall, this is a good church with solid bible teaching and we'd like to come back and visit next time.
