I don't say this lightly--Joshua Smith has changed my life…read more After completing 30 days of residential treatment at Hazelden Betty Ford, I entered the PHP (Partial Hospitalization Program) and was assigned to Joshua as my counselor. I am now on my 30th day of PHP, and I can confidently say that the work we've done together has transformed me on every level--emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and personally. Because of Joshua, I don't just understand what recovery looks like--I know how to live it. He's helped me build a foundation rooted in honesty, integrity, and purpose. His guidance, presence, and challenge have allowed me to confront the things I've avoided for years and step into a version of myself I never thought possible. Because of Joshua, my relationships have begun to heal. My connection with my wife has improved. My ability to show up for my kids has grown. I'm more present for my family, friends, and coworkers--and I'm finally able to live with emotional availability and clarity. But most of all, because of Joshua, my future is no longer something I fear or avoid. It's something I look forward to--bright, beautiful, and filled with possibility. I will forever be grateful for his care, his professionalism, and his wisdom. If you have the chance to work with Joshua Smith, know that you're in the hands of someone who doesn't just do this work--he lives it. And he changes lives because of it. --Chris Klein Alumni, Hazelden Betty Ford Residential + PHP Programs

I to am direct, he was just flat out rude!! So, I was told by a Dr. Anderson that they, the pain specialist were the trash cans for all the other doctors (his he saying the patients are the trash?). And they were supposed to figure things out! He said there was nothing he could do for my pain, maybe it was just me! I have cds of nerve ablation of my back, he wouldn't even look at and dismissed it. I asked about Lyme and Lupus and he gave me a stare and would not even give an answer. Also, the door was wide open as well as the staff hearing our convo so did the patients in the waiting room room. This was so bad on soo many levels!

I gave up and was leaving, because I got zero service other than blood pressure from the nurse. The receptionist was in the process of returning my deductible, as Anderson walked in. He gave no apologies, there were no emergencies, or I would have been very understanding. Out of nowhere Anderson got angry and violent. I won't go into details here. All I can say is PLEASE STAY AWAY for you'r own safety! If you have to go there bring someone with you as a witness, and for protection.

If I could give this doctor a -10, I would. This is by far one of the most unprofessional and…read moredisorganized medical offices I've ever dealt with. As a new patient, I waited six months just to get an appointment--which should have been my first warning. The La Quinta office told me I had to complete intake forms before they could schedule me. I did everything they asked, and they said they would call me back. They never did. No follow-up, no accountability. I then tried the Palm Desert office. Things seemed fine at first, but that quickly changed. They canceled my appointment with the doctor and pushed me to see a PA instead. I reluctantly agreed. On the day of the appointment, I had to call them myself because I never received any confirmation--no email, no text, nothing. When I called, the receptionist asked if I could come in earlier at 2:45. I told her I couldn't and specifically asked if 3:30 would still work or if I needed to reschedule. She clearly confirmed that 3:30 was fine. I showed up early at 3:15, only to be told the PA had already left. Instead of taking responsibility, they falsely claimed they had called me and that I said I would arrive at 3:00--which is completely untrue. At that point, it was clear they were more interested in covering their mistake than helping a patient. To make matters worse, I tried to resolve this with the office manager. She put me on hold for over 30 minutes because she was "on the phone with the pharmacy." Since when is the office manager handling pharmacy calls? I thought that was the responsibility of the nursing staff. It felt like yet another excuse and a complete waste of my time. This office is not just disorganized--it's dishonest. They waste your time, fail to communicate, and then blame you for their own failures. If this is how the practice is run, it reflects very poorly on the doctor. Patients deserve far better than this level of incompetence, lack of accountability, and disregard for their time.
