The Butchery offers up exceptional meat cuts for it's customers. Staff are friendly and attentive…read more Glass show cases are always clean and well organized. Prices tend to be on the expensive side especially when buying a prime cut of steak but the meat is top quality, so give them a try. I'm sure you'll be pleased. Also inside is Vera's Burgers. One of the best hamburgers in Ottawa. My buddy Brian and I go there several times a year and enjoy the great food. I'm upset that they stopped selling Coke in the glass bottles. That was a nice touch. Drive out to Bells Corners and enjoy Vera's and the Butchery. Cheers! Zee Mitchell

Don't come here hungry! Wow!…read moreThis popped up when I plugged in 'butcher' near me. 15 min away. My first visit was a Sat. So busy! And for good reason. I was blown away by all the meat, the prepared goods. Burger counter. Some seating. Freezer choices. Some dried goods, bread. I got away with Chorizo, some lean ground beef and some beautiful olive oil. Is this place cheap? No! But, I pay for quality without batting an eye. Especially foodie stuff. Next round was a Tuesday aft. Ahhh. Better. I could see everything, not so packed. It was just after a long weekend so some things were sold out but I grabbed more lean beef, a chicken parm portion, a beef Jamaican patty and a stuffed potato. All were good! The chicken portion from the fresh cabinet was $11.50! More than my lb of ground beef! But it was a filling piece and fed me x 2. I love this place.

Terrible not good Quality DO NOT SIGN UP…read moreThey will not stand up to their end on Quality. The Owner hung up and would not help and said that I was emotional. No doubt but who says that. You tend to get emotional when you are stuck feeding your family low grade meat. They claim AAA but its not even close. Please be warned i would hate for another family to get stuck like we did. So disappointing. They won't cancel your contract so your stuck feeding your family poor quality

We did a spread sheet on what we ordered, after we had a in home visit from one of their sales rep…read more The price on their dried goods and canned goods was about a 1/3 the price of what you would pay at grocery stores. awesome ( but that's how they sucker you in) But what they "do not show" on their grocery items selection list is the price of their meats. When you ask about their prices they won't answer and try to push you along to order. Saying they have low prices because they cut the middle man (distributors and grocery store locations...) So what I did is put everything on a spreadsheet, My years worth of groceries order with CHG was just under $4000 I knew how much in lbs I was getting of each meat item. So I totaled up all the dried goods and canned items, came up with $500 $4000-$500= $3500 So that means I'm paying $3500 for their meat. I then went through each meat cut I ordered,( chicken breast, whole chickens, pork, sausages Bacon....) Found online the price per lbs at various local grocery store and started adding that up. Guess what?! For the same amount of meat in lbs that I was buying from CHG I was only spending between $1200-1500 buying from local grocery stores. That's about $2000 extra I was paying CHG. Yeah I save on their dried goods and canned stuff but not enough to justify overpaying for their meats by almost $2000. That's why they don't show you their price for meat cuts. With CHG you pay a set yearly price A,B,C,D. The sales rep suggested she go with C for our size family, not really explaining why. Maybe my scenario is a bit off, but not by much, I would strongly suggest you do your own calculations like I did. Unless you don't mind paying more for having your groceries delivered to you. If CHG could be upfront about what I'm paying for "everything" then maybe I would consider going with them, when I would find it convenient to pay more to have my food delivered.
