Bought a Groupon for an in-office, one hour Zoom teeth whitening treatment. I wasn't surprised that the doctor tried to sell me Invisalign braces among other services, but what did surprise me that he told me that it would be better to use an additional product (I understood) after the zoom bleaching to reduce the pain, but instead I was charged on my way out for it without my consent. That wasn't the worst part. He totally didn't do anything I paid for. I had zoom teeth whitening before but that was anything but that. And that's why my teeth didn't whitened not one bit. They looked exactly the same. Total bullshit! I am so done with people in this city who have the audacity to so blatenly and with so much confidence con someone and then act like that's how it should be. I paid for a teeth whitening/ bleaching session but instead I gotten a bullshit session. It's not okay. I paid real money, I expect the service I paid for. Let's start with the pros: The ladies at the front are very friendly, and the hygienist is fantastic. I usually park on the side street to avoid paying the $10 parking fee. Let's talk about the cons: Their office hours suck, and they are not accommodating. They are all about the money. They will do anything to bill and charge your insurance, even if that means submitting insurance claims for services you did not have or miscategorizing the services you did have to collect money from your insurance. They are scammers! Dr. Ray is lazy, and his work is very sloppy. Please do not allow him to work on your mouth. He is a weasel and acts like he is so good and talks a good game, but a few people I know came here, and all said the same thing- he is lazy, and his work is sloppy. Since he seems to have multiple Yelp pages, I'll post my review on all of them. I haven't seen Dr. Partovy since 2017 but felt it necessary to come back and let anyone and everyone know to avoid his practice at all costs. Partovy was an in network provider with my insurance so I saw him for a cracked tooth. I was referred to endo for a root canal and Partovy was to do the post and crown. Long story short, that crown was terrible and broke within a month and needed to be replaced. The second crown was worse, he didn't bother to color match or even place it himself - his DA did it and had quite the time. The integrity of the post was no doubt compromised in the process. Less than a week after this I moved out of state and continued to have issues not only with the crown but excessive infections. It was finally, after a few years, suggested to have my root canal redone and a new crown and post made. Today I had that root canal and low and behold Dr. Partovy forgot to remove the cotton pellet placed by the endodontist as a place holder for the post. Instead he just covered it up and it was found today. I've had numerous infections and suffered bone loss thanks to his mistake. 6 years that sat there! That's as bad as a surgeon leaving tools in a patient. But I digress... save yourself the money and potential long term issues and STAY AWAY! read more

I have been going to this office for 6 months now and have always been treated like a VIP. The staff is so kind and loving and always makes me feel welcomed. I have been wearing the Invisalign braces, and I am so happy with my results. In fact, my son is now a patient and is also wearing that they invisalign braces. I unfortunately cannot recommend Design Dental Spa which is super disheartening (the ladies at the front desk are so lovely) but they seem to be a pretty dishonest practice. I purchased a groupon for Zoom Teeth Whitening and they ended up using a knock off machine. I reached out after to try to clear this up thinking it may have been a mistake or miscommunication but they just ignored my email. I wouldn't recommend coming here for any sort of service just because of the dishonesty on their part. Like it just isn't right, they shouldn't be falsely advertising and lying about their services- especially during a pandemic while people are hurting. I love Donna and Dr. Ray and they have been the nicest people. Their office has nothing but nice people and they're very thorough and they even call you to confirm every appointment in case you forget. I highly recommend Dr. Ray and his lovely staff. I came last week and I accidentally went to the wrong office.(Make sure you make the appointment at the right office because he has two offices) I was able to redeem my Groupon voucher for zoom with sensodyne and I am highly pleased with my results. I recommend calling them first to see if they can price match any Groupon services they offer. I plan on switching to him as my Invisalign provider because he's an elite provider (based on the # of patients he's treated). I also plan on doing cosmetic work as well. The only con is parking. So I called this dental office to make an appointment for teeth whitening. The first thing the receptionist asked me is "how did you hear of us?" I said "Groupon". She asked, "did you purchase it already?" I said "yes" and she placed me on hold for a while. When she answered, she told me that they're unable to make an appointment at this time but will call me later during the day and took my name and phone number. I waited that day and no one returned my call. I called back a couple times, left a voicemail and still never got a call back. I then called Groupon and got my refund. My opinion is that this place doesn't really like Groupon customers especially from reading the other Groupon customers reviews. read more

Dr. Ray Partovy is an excellent dentist, and truly an expert in alignment. I went to Dr. Ray for my ClearCorrect treatment. With the first (free) consultation, Dr. Ray was very clear with me about what to expect about the process and the results. The rate he offered for the procedure was also very generous-- literally half the price of what other dentists offer. Throughout the process, I went to Dr. Ray's office once a month for adjustments, and he was very patient with all my questions. At the end of the six month treatment, there was a HUGE IMPROVEMENT in the alignment of my teeth, but there was one particular tooth that was especially difficult to straighten because of its shape. Dr. Ray continued to make adjustments for me at no additional cost (an extra two months!) until I was perfectly happy with the results. Dr. Ray truly cares about patient satisfaction, and he also has a wonderful team to help him. Norma is the sweetest, most helpful assistant. She is very knowledgeable and patient. I was so happy with my new front teeth, I had broken them rollerblading as a kid. Dr.Ray went over the options and I fixed my teeth with my new Lumineer teeth, they look perfect and I'm not embarrassed anymore. I was quite disappointed with the whole experience. I bought teeth whitening Groupon online, called to make appointment, made it clear it's for a Groupon and got appointment within a week. The day before they called to let me know appointment was pushed by 1 hour which I appreciated to make wait short. The second I lay feet in the clinic, Dr Patrov goes into up-selling mode. First, it was x-rays. I declined at first but Dr convinced me otherwise. Next on the up-sell list was teeth work. I explained that I'm only there for teeth cleaning and have another dentist. Dr starts talking about fillings, crown, etc, this is covered, that is $500 etc. I was told on phone whitening result will be better if I do teeth cleaning before whitening so I agreed. Next, I go with hygenist. She was pleasant, tried to up-sell on deep teeth cleaning but when I showed no interest, she offered to submit authorization to insurance even though I mentioned I won't be able to come again. She was helpful explaining the process and giving me tips on cleaning teeth. Next, was the Invisalign up-sell from Dr. I didn't mind listening to free consultation as long as I get teeth whitened. Finally, we get to the purpose of my visit: teeth whitening. Dr had 2 sentences about process, puts a bit of paste on mold, gives me glasses, shines light on my nose then asks if I have any questions while mold is in my mouth. 30 mins pass and machine beeps, another girl comes who actually adjusts light to point closer to my mouth and pointing on teeth. After whitening, Dr claims my teeth went 3 grades brighter. What I saw was front teeth whiter below lips and rest of teeth unchanged. He says I need to do more sessions to see results. Before leaving for lunch at 2 pm, he reminds me again to book appointments for cleaning, fillings etc. I wouldn't have minded spending 3 hours of up-selling if I saw whitening actually being done carefully !!!! I used a Groupon for teeth whitening yesterday and it was extremely poor service with extremely poor results. This is not the first time I've got my teeth whitened and the staff barely did any work (compared to my previous experiences) and the service provider at first said let's see how much improvement we can get since I already have nice teeth and then he lied at the end and said that my teeth went from dark to light which was extremely unprofessional and tacky. He was more interested in selling me other products they offered. I do not see any improvement in my teeth compared to the other times that I have gotten my teeth whitened. If I had known I would have avoided this unprofessional scam. And FYI Groupon will only refund you $18 Groupon bucks and now I have to re-do my teeth with another dentist. Well today's visit was not as memorable as the last. I had been seeing the same dentist in Norwalk for the past 18 years, and made the drive there for the past 6 years. When I came here last month for a whitening, the dentist said he would match my cleaning price, so I gave them a shot today. I always arrive to any appointments 10 minuets early. They ran 30 minutes late, which I don't appreciate when paying for parking. The hygienist did apologize, but I was already not happy. The cleaning was pretty brutal, my mouth still tastes like blood, after warm salt washes and mouthwash. She said it wasn't bad, but I never bled so much at a cleaning. She finished the scraping and polishing all in 30 minutes. I told the front desk lady, I shouldn't pay for the 30 mins late parking, so I just paid 3 instead of 6,(its the principal here) They do not give you a new toothbrush, floss or anything, which I always got at my other dentist. I came to Design Dental Spa for a whitening special and was very lucky to meet Dr.Ray who noticed that I have very crowded teeth and mentioned that it can be fixed. I thought that I was a lost cause and problems that relate to crowded teeth were bothering me a lot. He introduced me to Invisalign and how it works. Now I am about half way through my treatment and I am already very happy with the results - look and feel !!! Can't wait to finish all the trays and have a " Hollywood smile" from Dr. Ray. They had me waiting 30-45 minutes after my appointment time before they saw me. Teeth whitening was standard, I wish there was a tv in the room as I sat there for an hour. Teeth whitening did make my teeth a couple of shades better, maybe like 3 shades less yellow. Definitely would need another session to get them more white. They will honor the Groupon price if I call them directly so that's great. I did recommend my gf there due to convenience in location and price. They are apparently a top provider in Invisalign as well. Almost got me for it. Price wasn't right for me though for out of pocket. If it was $400-500 less, they probably would of had me. read more

Dr. Partovy and his staff have officially won me over and showed me that I should not be scared of the dentist ever again. I was never scared until I had the worst experience of a lifetime with my previous dentist. Traumatizing actually. It was so bad I actually received a refund after it took them 9 months to get a permanent crown on me( the worst job ever BTW and had to be ripped off almost losing my tooth and a $1200 root canal) and leaving foreign objects under my 4th temp, yes 4th temp because the previous dentist kept screwing up. The Dental Board threatened their license it was so bad. I switched to Dr. Partovy afterwards and cannot say enough about his staff and how kind and friendly and accommodating they are and can be. They know what happened to me previously and let me cry in the chair on Monday and take 45 minutes to decide if I was going to stay and get a temp crown on a different tooth I lost a filling in on Sat on set or leave and go to a dentist who uses the CEREC machine where its done same day. I had my other crown done using Cerec after being so upset and thinking I could never do a temp again. They convinced me not to leave and that he would absolutely get it right the first time. He listened, asked questions and I really needed to it immediately because it was cutting my tongue. My insurance covered all but $130 plus my deductible. So far so good although its still cutting my tongue slightly. They offered to have me come in but I have to work. IF I could make it they would fit me in which is so nice. I am an actor and you can't call out sick so I might not make it in until next Monday, but they really tried to fit me in despite my schedule not really allowing for it. They are kind and decent and always flexible on fees and pricing. They take last minute appts and actually answer you on the weekends if you have an emergency. I know I am in good hands when I go there and that they always mean well. Kudos for a medical/dental office who actually remembers their patients are humans and there because they need help and to feel better, not to be a number. I love these guys and recommend them to anyone. read more
