I recently visited this store (first time) and purchased a new pair of designer glasses, contact lens and replaced the lens in my old glasses for an incredible price! I have heard many great things about this store (friends and family have shopped here before) which was why I decided to give it a try. I found the staffs to be extremely knowledgeable, patient, helpful and overall willing to make sure I was completely satisfied with my purchase. My father also bought a pair of reading glasses too and was very happy with his purchase. I recommend speaking to David (owner) about your specific needs. Please disregard the previous reviews that were negative. This place is under new management. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating. The location has been remodeled. They have state of the art exam equipment. I don't review on yelp often. The business has to be either exceptionally excellent or extremely horrible. I don't like to complain on social media about reviews. This place is a gem. A must go to, I'm recommending this place to my friends, family and colleagues. When it comes to my eyes I don't trust just anyone. Have to say that since I moved in to this neighborhood I've been looking for a good place to do my yearly eye exams, and my family's, which I found in Designer Optical Eyewear. I have to say besides their great products -great, modern, fashion frames, all types of lenses-, the environment and their service to their patients is just outstanding. I went there and got single vision lenses and contact lenses, as well, and I couldn't be more pleased. So happy I decided to walk in. My mother had just purchased eyeglasses here and was really happy with her experience. I walked in expecting to just schedule an eye exam for a future date. Instead, I was taken in for an eye exam on the spot and then to round it out I was given my contacts right away. I've always had to wait 3-5 days for pick up. I was stunned and so pleased. David and the lovely optometrist (whose name I didn't catch) were attentive, sincere and were able to answer all my questions. So happy they are in the neighborhood. read more

I went there today since i was very worried about my eye. Had a terrible irritation and it was red. Felt so pleased to go there. I`m very picky to were i go especially when it comes to my eyes. I usually take the commute and go to NJ but this is way closer and way better. The staff is amazing and they know how to take care of you and make sure you get the right procedure for everything. So the first time I walked in, I didn't really want to buy any glasses. I just wanted to look around. Then I finally found a beautiful pair of Michael Kors eyeglasses. The sales representative was extremely nice. He walked me through all of the show cases until I finally said that this was the one. Im so happy with my glasses that I got from them. best optical store I've been too! I've never felt as comfortable at any other retail store as I did in designer optical. The staff is great ,especially their sales rep. David he helped me with everything and guided me through everything. Beautiful store!! They have the latest models of all frames and almost every brand you can imagine. What I loved the most was the hospitality there. They have a great sales crew that are more than happy to take their time with you to explain every lens and its cause. Overall I highly recommend this Optical store. I have been going here for my glasses and contacts for a while. The staff is friendly and charismatic, their deals are great. Even though I got my contacts, I also had my glasses lenses replaced with their Crizal material, yes it was a little bit more money but I really like how up to this day my glasses have not one scratch on them. Top-notch service from the employees and good care by the eye doctor. Frames are of excellent quality with a variety of choice. Designer Optical Eyewear accepted Aetna and offered the frame for free. I ordered a frame with lenses and just lenses for another frame I had from before. The cost for all of these was well within my budget and I am glad to say that I got a pretty good deal. This is a great place to go for your Eyewear needs. I took my daughter here and Sal was very helpful. He was able to help me get my daughter her glasses even before her insurance card came in mail!! We order the glasses on wed. and sunday a woman called at 630pm said that they were in the shop; ready for pickup! She stayed open and waited until we got there! Went in there to loosen sunglass hinges. The guy was very helpful as he loosened and also cleaned my sunglasses, for free. The glasses I brought in were polarized Ray bans from amazon so he showed me something you could only see with polarized lenses... Luckily I was able to see it with my ray bans. So my visit was well worth it as I felt more confident about the authenticity of my product. read more

Been needing to get my eyes checked for months. In denial that I need glasses. This location was convenient for me and my family so we just walked in and was attended to by courteous staff and a doctor that cared enough to explain/walk us through the eye exam. I was dreading having to go in to get glasses, but the doctor and staff were, not only patient with me, but I didn't feel like I was pressured, or being up sold on frames I couldn't afford. Distance from my house right by the A train and comfy like with its size cause its small. Noone was in there at the moment so I was seen soon with no appointment needed.
