First off, congratulations on pulling of the event with the venue change, format change, etc,…read moreso-on, so-forth. Second of all, I'm happy that money was raised for Susan G. Komen, it's definitely a great cause. From an attendee point-of-view, I believe the show should have been pretty successful. With the beer flowing, drunken stumblings, volume of cars, etc the show should not have been a bad time for attendees, spectators, passers by, etc. There were rumblings about the "reserved" parking solely based on Air Ride and the reason a fee was charged on top of registration, etc. The Show N Shine format, although more informal, does lead to some more "chaos" as it's less "structured" compared to a show with classed parking. The volume of the cars v. the lack of parking did also raise some concerns as well as issues. From a vendor/business point-of-view (and I can only speak for myself), it left a bit to be desired. This is not a personal dig on you or your staff. Thank you for making accommodations to include us in your show. These are just observations and reactions based on 8 hours in the parking lot. Organization was not too bad, registration, setup, etc went smoothly. Vendor row seemed detached from the rest of the show. If there was a PA or DJ (as mentioned in the introductory package for shout-outs, etc) making announcements, promoting vendors/products, etc, it could not be heard. Divorcing Vendor Row from the registration booth and "premier" vendors, and having all the activities across the parking lot drew everyone away from vendor row. 2011's format, layout and space was definitely better, in our opinion.
