    The Versailles.

Comestibles and Potables. DOCR has raised their local appeal over the years. Their first location was in another corner on Main Street and now landed in their current location for awhile. Their drink products are great. I was amazed by The Versailles. WOW. Felt like Seattle.... finally ART in a cup -- not visually, but with my tastebuds. Amazing combo of flavors. *applauses* Pastries looked good. Vibe. Dark. Dark wood. Local art. They have Open Mic Monday nights. Curious. Place is ALWAYS PACKED with all kinds of people. Music is a tad too loud for me. Hospitality. Knowledgeable and friendly. Of note. Metered street parking on Main Street and metered lot parking nearby. Loo cleaned and stocked. Overall. Good place to get good coffee, pastry, and meet up with friends. Wear headphones if you want to try to work.

Comforting and decadent hot chocolate and great seasonal offerings. Check the printed menu for specific limited time specials.

This place is such a gem, located in the heart of downtown Rochester! I love the layout of the space, where you walk in and it has a small set of stairs that then leads up and into the long, narrow shop space with the ordering counter in the very back and various tables and seating areas throughout between the front and the back. There is even a small stage for live music/performances, which is a lovely and very fitting touch for a coffee shop! Obviously, having the set of stairs in the front makes it a lot less accessible. I came here with my friend who is on crutches right now and she was able to make it up the stairs with minimal difficulty, but given that there are many kinds of disabilities and I don't believe I saw a ramp to go up beside the stairs nor a back entrance that would allow people to come in at that slightly higher height level, this is a significant concern accessibility-wise. The space is moody, while also being very coffee shop like. I have known of people going on first dates here and it feels very fitting! It's a very cute space and offers a bit more on top of just coffee drinks, so it really lives up to its "dessert" name. I got an iced matcha (it was not the worst, but also not the best that I've had) and the tiramisu cheesecake (pretty good, but still not one of the better cheesecakes I've had). Both were good and the perfect afternoon snack. This place is lovely for all kinds of reasons, so definitely check it out if you need a pick me up next time you're in Rochester!

This place hits every time. This is my absolute favorite location of Dessert Oasis. I just love the decor, you feel like you are in a movie or a TV show enjoying your coffee and desserts. The mocha here is so nicely roasted and sweet, it is an enjoyable cup! Their tiramisu cheesecake was so tender and flavorful, the perfect hybrid of tiramisu and cheesecake combination. And even though this place does fill up on a Saturday night, you can usually find a nice spot to sit. The people working here are always nice, it is a really fun night.

    Oreo cheesecake

This place is the bomb! Such an amazing vibe and place to chill with your friends. The cheesecake was nice and moist and such a great flavor. I love Oreo things and this cheesecake was no exception.

This is the second time we come here since we live out of state and we were not disappointed! Best coffee we've ever had!! We had the honey cinnamon iced latte with oat milk and the vanilla iced latte with oat milk! The chocolate chip cookies were nice, warm, and chewy! Loved this spot and will always try and make an attempt at picking up a cup of joe when in Michigan! Super cute spot too! Cozy!

A true coffee house with minimal emphasis on snacks and great attention to coffee drinks, tea and atmosphere. Desert is an ideal place for taking a break from shopping, meeting a friend or just relaxing with a great cup of coffee. Service is good, atmosphere is comfortable and the prices are worth the excellent quality. Will definitely come here again

Cortado! Beautiful latte art but slightly burnt espresso and overall slightly watery and a bit boring.

Alright, I've become a bigger coffee snob since I last reviewed five years ago. I came here twice recently and got a pour over and cortado (both made using their Brazil Bom Cafe beans). I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed the pour over! There was a hint of strawberry acidic and the chocolate after taste was tasty. I love that you can ask them which beans you want to try for the pour over. Definitely willing to come back to try other blends. I got the cortado the second time and it was presented beautifully with carefully crafted latte art (pretty impressive since cortados are small) but the drink itself was slightly bitter and a bit watery. Overall, the taste itself was boring and I probably wouldn't get this again. Happy to come back to the nice vibes and live music eventually and try out more coffee! I definitely need to try the desserts again next time.

I found them a few weeks ago when I did a search of stores who actually sell loose leaf tea. The reason I like loose leaf tea versus the garbage sold in the stores is because it comes out way more flavorful, stronger and seems to taste a lot better than the stuff they sell at the grocery. I am also shocked that nobody else has been here before, as I know a few tea drinker who also happen to be active yelpers. Interesting. Anyway, the place is easy to find and right off fourth street and visible from the road. There is street parking, but a parking garage is literally right there on the other side of the street if you need it. As you know, downtown Rochester can get busy at times, so easy places to park is important. Walking in, not only is this place a tea store, but it also sells spices. They also have a ton of cool accessories to choose from throughout, which was really super cool to look at. I've also been on the hunt for the individual honey sticks that seem to be hard to find. Not only do they have the honey sticks, but they came in a variety of flavors? Like flavored honey? Exciting! I just grabbed a packet of regular honey sticks which are sitting in my kitchen now. The spice area has a much larger selection of items, from different varieties of salt, but other seasonings as well. I didn't really study the selection as the place was busy but let me tell you, there's a lot! I went to the tea section and they have all sorts of teas to choose from. I wanted something more citrus/lemon/herbal since I have a sinus infection, but I also wanted to see what else they have. Great selection, pre bagged but make sure you have the steeper's at home. If not, they sell them here too. Service was great, and the staff was knowledgeable. Nobody asked me if I needed help or followed me around the store, but when I did talk to them at check out, these people really seem to be tea oriented and educated on the product. While they aren't cheap by any stretch of the imagination (more along the lines of Starbucks pricing) they are worth every penny. I will be back in the future and I wish they did a better job of advertising!

It was bit cold inside but since it was so hot outside, I was still happy about it. We were a large party and came by with no reservations but as it was a Monday, we didn't have to wait at all and were seated right away. I didn't catch the name of the server (I forgot her name) but she was fantastic. She was attentive, friendly, and ---as a person who works in hospitality, I know how difficult it can be to serve a table of 3 adults and 6 children but she was a pro. She gave great recommendations, was very sweet with the kids, checked up on us regularly and made the entire experience awesome. The food itself was amazing. They have quite a variety of things and I chose to have the Mushroom Benedict ($17) and it came with a side (I chose a side of roasted potatoes). I haven't been to Michigan in 9 years and I live in Los Angeles so these prices are very reasonable and even cheap considering what I'm used to paying for brunch back home. I didn't have any drinks but saw they have a full bar. When I'm back in town, this is definitely a place I would love to come back to.

We texted our friends our order and were 20 minutes out when the table was ready. They refused to seat our group, demanding we all be there because the table would then be taken up too long (even though our friends had our order and food takes time to cook ANYWAYS). We got to the restaurant and ended up waiting another hour just to be able to get a table that we had been waiting for an insanely long amount of time. There is no flexibility, humanity, or understanding with this restaurant. Only robots who "have policies" and are "sorry - that's just the way things are." Honestly, McDonald's is better at this point. At least the food is on par with the shit service at McDonald's. No point in nice breakfast if the people aren't even.kind

When you walk in, you are greeted with bright, lively colors, sweet smells, and a hum of noise coming from Papa Joe's. We were there after the morning rush so it wasn't busy. We were greeted by a young woman behind the counter that displayed a multitude of small donuts decorated in over a dozen ways. We chose to get a box of 6 to share along with S'mores Cold Brew iced coffees. Our 6 "funkadelic" choices were named: Magically Delicious, Raspberry Lemonade, Raspberry Truffle, Robert Brule, Heath, Wind, and Fire, and Salted caramel Macchiato. I was most excited for the Magically Delicious because it was topped with what looked like Lucky Charms marshmallows but they were not the same kind and the mushy consistency fell flat. Both raspberry donuts were flavored as described in their names and tasted really good. The Robert Bruce is a play on a crème brûlée dessert and they complete the donut when ordered so it has a wonderfully crunchy top. The last 2 were good but I couldn't really taste the salted caramel of the Macchiato one. I love the concept here because you can try a couple different flavors without wasting food or having dried up hockey pucks the next day. I'd like to try more flavors so we'll be back. Warning to those cashless crusaders - they do tack on a 3% fee for using credit so tapper beware.

I visited randomly one afternoon during the week and there was no line. The woman who helped me was friendly and patient. Basically, they use the same plain cake donut as the base and then add toppings to your choosing. They had more than 50 options, all small enough so you're able to try at least a few. I got the 6 pack and sampled the coconut, cinnamon sugar, maple, strawberry cheesecake, coffee cake, and snick jagger. I admit I had a hard time because I'm not a fan of overly-sugary toppings, but the maple ended up being my favorite. As I was checking out, I noticed they had doggy donuts too! While they accept credit card, it's a 3% surcharge to your order so if you're sensitive to that, bring cash! Plenty of indoor seating but they had really nice boxes for to-go orders too. Overall, while the types of donuts are not to my personal preference, I would return with my nieces.
