I arrived at Coffee First Cafe & Bake Shoppe a little earlier than planned for a meeting, so I treated myself to a cappuccino and a freshly baked cinnamon roll while I waited. The coffee was rich without being too strong, and the cinnamon roll was warm, soft, and perfectly paired with it. By the time my meeting started, I was already thinking about coming back just for the pastries. It's a charming spot that makes slowing down feel worthwhile. read more

Super cute, cozy, and quaint cafe! Off the bat the place was very nice looking and I appreciated the cute small business corner they had as well games tucked away to the side. The barista was nice and helpful when answering our questions. My friend and I really wanted to try their coffee flights so we got Valentine's Day special. All of which were lattes as the barista said. We got them all iced and were very yummy! We liked how they were presented and our ranking of the drinks were 1) Nutty Ex (the pistachio flavor was really nice), 2) Sweetheart, 3) Dozen Flowers, and 4) French Kiss. We all also ordered their Hot Cake, Sausage, Cheese and Egg item which was good. My friends got the Strawberry Lemonade which they noted had a lot of ice so they would ask for light ice next time. What a great, almost hidden spot. Had seen this on a Facebook video about coffee flights ages ago and finally got around to trying it. It's very cozy inside but there's ample seating. The lady at the counter was very kind and even gave me a punch card for frequent visits. The coffee flights were great, and I enjoyed the breakfast sandwich I got as well. Most importantly, everything was reasonably priced. This spot is a total gem and I am surprised I haven't been back yet. read more

This place is amazing and a must try! It's so lovely inside and the workers are so sweet and accommodating (they were able to make changes to my friend's order after paying and make part of the order sugar free and limiting the dairy). There's a lot of seating inside and people chatting, there's a little game machine too! I went back two days in a row because it was just that good! The second trip i got their Iced Honey Lavender Latte, it's amazing. if you're a fan of lavender like me, this is a must try. The honey adds a nice piece of sweetness. It should also be noted that i do not like Lattes usually but this place had me coming back for more lol. Go support your local cafés!!! read more

Super cute coffee shop tucked away in a small shopping plaza. I easily drove by here hundreds of times before I realized it was there. I am so glad I finally discovered it, what a gem. They have so many different types of coffees and lattes its incredible. I am a bug fan of their protein latte, so good and way better and cheaper than that place that shall not be named. We came here because of a Things To Do in Metro Detroit recommended coffee shop for coffee flights. It's a small shop that's easy to miss but when you walk in, you are immediately welcomed with a comfy atmosphere, friendly smiles and wonderful aromas of coffee and bakery items. We ordered the #4 coffee flight (hot) but didn't want the Lavender one so they let us make a substitution. They made no issue over that and I appreciated that. They are super flexible even asking if we wanted it hot or cold. The coffees were fun to try - they are very sweet so beware! We also ordered a raspberry white scone, a chocolate croissant and a egg, cheese and bacon croissant with Tater tots. The scone was chocolate croissant were warmed. We didn't love the scone (it had more of a thick cookie consistency) but the croissant was really good. The egg, cheese and bacon croissant was on a different type of croissant - it was far sturdier to hold all the insides. It was really good and I always appreciate tater tots though these weren't specialty - just plain. I really liked the vibe in this place as well as the coffee. I will return to try others as well as some different food options. I'm giving them a 5 for the coffee, the great customer service and the laid back atmosphere. Been here a few times for a quick bite to eat, a coffee, a coffee flight, or any combination of the three. Any time we go in it seems like they have different treats to choose from and different coffee options. The coffees are really tasteful and sometimes pretty strong too! So you sometimes may be levitating out of the coffee shop! The flights are very interesting and very filling. We've had the flight that offers each kind of coffee beverage, the frappe one (during different seasons), and the iced coffee one. I think there's one more but they're all really good. They're kind of pricey but totally worth it! Their breakfast sandwiches I like the most. The nice and toasty biscuit, egg, cheese, and sausage patty is always delicious! read more

This is a great little coffee shop. There is almost always a short line here whenever I come in, which I attribute to the welcoming atmosphere and tasty drinks! Doris 100% approved. This is the cutest little coffee shop. The staff is friendly, the signs are adorable, and helps make it easy for anyone not to be intimidated by fancy coffee drinks. Spooky yet fun Halloween music was playing when we walked in this morning around 840an and the little shop was festive which tells me the owner cares a lot and has deep pride in the store, I liked this a lot. Everything looked clean and not covered in dust. It's super small town vibes located in a strip mall plaza, tons of parking, and a big red sign. The food, treats, and pastries all looked really fresh. I didn't purchase a treat but next time I'll give them a try. Doris fans... i recommend giving this place a try and holding off on your Starbucks or big chain stores... help a local coffee shop, leave with a smile and totally enjoy their coffee. :-) read more

Visited coffee first with a group of 3. It's a quaint coffee shop. We got there around 1030 and it was picking up on busyness. The ladies working there were very kind and efficient. I ordered an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese and it was a typical bagel. I also ordered the iced latte flight. I was nervous about a couple of flavors, but they were all sooo good. It came with honey pot, frosted cinnamon, chocolate almond and cinnamon maple. I'm not a fan of maple, but it was delicious. I'm not a whipped cream fan so next time I'd skip it on them. They have a very extensive and unique menu. They have everything from milkshakes to lemonades and of course coffee. They also have quick bites from sandwiches to baked goods. Came here today after hearing about the new "coffee flight" after seeing an ad for it on Facebook. First off, this place is adorable!! And so homey (: The staff was super friendly and helpful. Coming on a Saturday morning at 11am, I expected a bit of a crowd but it wasn't that busy at all. They let us pick whatever flavors we wanted for the flight since it wasn't packed, so my friend and I both got a tray with completely different flavors. Each one was very flavorful and I want to go back and try them all! Coconut mocha was definitely my #1. We also tried their spinach/feta puff, along with a smoked Gouda, egg & bacon sandwich. Food was good, the puff was my favorite! So flavorful and very pleasing to the eye. Sandwich was just a regular breakfast sandwich, but that's fine! They have little games throughout the shop for people to play with, and the seating is limited but very comfortable and overall a great atmosphere. They also give you a punch card, after 10 punches you get a free coffee. I highly recommend this place for a nice experience, at a local coffee shop. No need to go to Starbucks or a big corporation place when you can come somewhere like this. Try it out!! read more

I drove a half an hour each way from my house before work to try one of these flights. I've been on some different coffee hunts for a little bit now, and came across Coffee First Cafe online. After deciding when would be best to go, I was up early one day and went to try it. I was greeted with friendly hellos and fresh smells as soon as i walked through the door. The menu was easy to read and the setup was great. The staff helped me with any questions I had and worked with me. The pricing was great! For the flight and a bagel with cream cheese it came out to about $18. The coffees were all pretty good sizes as I took most of it to go. The asiago bagel was delicious, and there are plenty of breakfast options to choose from. My personal latte favorite from the flight was the caramel white mocha. The environment was very festive for the holidays, and had a good amount of seating options. For going at about 7 am on a thursday, it was pretty busy! I've been looking forward to going back and can't wait to enjoy some more flights! read more

Ambiance is peculiar. I walked in on a Thursday morning, it was not busy at all. Right when I entered, every person inside immediately stopped talking and just stared at me. And not one person was wearing a mask. Person behind the counter put her mask only after I was at the counter. Just felt very off, like I had interrupted a clandestine meeting. Small black coffee was not what I wanted to order but did order because I felt very uncomfortable and unwelcome, I felt I should leave quickly. But yes, that coffee was tasty. Next day I mentioned the odd encounter here to my neighbor - who relayed that she had a nearly identical experience just a few weeks prior at this very same shop! So, it was not just me! I've now been visiting this coffee shop for about 6 months. When the owner isn't there you have to wait a very long time for an espresso drink, which is a little frustrating. I'm very impressed with this place! My boyfriend and I have been going to Starbucks multiple times a week for two years (mostly because we love and know the staff there) and we were honestly hesitant to give this place a try but we're so glad we did! We split a medium (which seemed like a large) vanilla iced coffee with almond milk and it was some of the best iced coffee I've ever had. We also split a slice of cheesecake which was good too. Not only were both delicious, they cost less than $7 together! The staff was also nice and they did not seem to mind that I brought my own cup in for the coffee. There's also a handful of board games to play while you sit which is pretty fun. They also have free WiFi and I could totally see myself coming here to do homework.
