Aside, I visited Cathy today because I need booking airline tickets and renting a car, too; in the interim, my Toyota 4-Runner will be in the repair shop so, this will be the best opportunity addressing business I've lackadaisically procrastinated. I've used this company for over 20 years for every vacation and they have never steered me wrong. In fact, they've made recommendations that I didn't think of and my vacations are better than I could have managed on my own. I made the mistake of using this agent to book a transatlantic cruise that was to be the first leg…read morein a six week trip to the UK. She booked me for the cheapest accommodation on Norwegian and did not explain any options for upgrading my cruise. When I saw options on the cruise website afterwards, I tried to call and email the agent, but she was unresponsive. That's when I learned, the hard way, that once you book a cruise through an agent, it becomes a contract, and the cruise company will no longer work with you directly. Reluctantly, I made a second appointment to see the agent, because I wanted to upgrade my booking. She was not in the office when I arrived, and I was told she had just stepped out and would be back shortly. I waited 20 minutes. When she finally did return, she was carrying take-out lunch for her and her husband, and kept me waiting another 15 minutes while they ate in his office. She denied this, but I could clearly see them in the reflection of a glass window/door. I told her I didn't feel we were a good match and asked her if she would voluntarily release my booking with Norwegian, but she refused. Highly unprofessional. I have myself to blame for not doing my research ahead of time. Next time I will seek reviews or asked friends for recommendations.
