School Street Yoga is the best yoga studio out there that just so happens to be tucked away on a…read moreside street in Waterville, Maine. Whether you're an avid yoga practitioner or have been contemplating trying yoga for the first time, it's an absolute must. My only warning is that you'll be hard pressed to find a better experience once you step foot in the studio. I started practicing with the founders, Jeri Wilson and Susan Golden, more than 10 years ago when I was 16. Both continue to teach at the studio even though it recently changed hands and is now owned by Kathleen Haberstock. But I have to say, Jeri and Susan spoiled me and my yoga experience for the rest of my life. I've lived in big cities from the east coast to the west and I still come back to the joy of these teachers and this studio. This place is truly a community. From the teachers who lead classes to the students who take the time out of their day to practice with one another in this space, it feels like coming home whenever I take a class. There is an abundance of teaching styles and multiple class levels so it's always easy to find something that fits what you need and where you are in your life and your physical ability. They offer events and teacher trainings and host teachers from other studios who bring something different to the table and allow this small community to experience world-class talent. If you're reading this and just discovering School Street Yoga for the first time, I urge you to take a class and see how lucky Waterville is to have a studio of this caliber. And if you're reading this and you already know what I'm talking about, this is your friendly reminder to return to the studio and your practice. You won't regret it.

Katey is so easy going and down to earth that I immediately relaxed after meeting her. She genuinely loves and cares about the wide variety of people who come to her studio, and after finding out I was new in town, she would recommend me an event each week that I could go to and meet people if I wanted to. Thanks to her I discovered the Alan Day Community Garden, where I enjoy caring for my garden plot and "sneaking" into the greenhouse to eat fresh peas, and I discovered a community at the Lights Out Gallery where I've made some incredible friends and had the honor of helping Pamela Anne Moulton work on some incredible larger than life sculptures, with the help of my little dog. Katey taught me it doesn't matter if you can't do any of the poses. Yoga is about getting in touch with yourself and appreciating the body and mind you have. I recommend Halls Pond Healing Arts to anyone who is interested in yoga, new in town, old in town, wants to try something new, or would appreciate adding an hour of relaxation to their week. She really is the benchmark for yoga greatness!

Beware of SCAM. Immediately after paying for the course, I was informed that the start of the…read morecourse was getting delayed. I explained that the new timeframe does not work for me and requested my money back. Since that point I have been threatened, badmouthed and exposed to intimidation tactics by the owner. I had been searching for a massage school and i visited Panacea School in person on 11 Dec 2023. I called a week ago to ensure that there is a credit card machine to proceed the payment and i was informed by Suzane the owner of this place that they have credit card machine to process the payment However, once i arrived in person and she was only focus on payment rather than went through study program which i most concerned because it took 13,14 and 15 months which she could not finalized. You may see this different info in many areas on their own website and enrollment form. I intended to pay by credit card but i was surprisingly informed by Suzane that their credit card machine not work for a while and advised me to pay by Vemo, cash app which i dont have an account (Enrollment fee 1,200 USD). Since the program was set to start on 26 Jan 2024 and i must pay 30 days prior start date said by suzane and enrollment form. I went to near by bank and paid by cash at 1,200.- USD and i informed Suzane that it was not same way as she told me by phone before coming to enroll. On the same night. After i came back home, i got a message from Zusane with a credit card payment link and ask me to pay down payment of Tuition at 3,999.- USD and i did. On 26 DEC 2023. I got a text message from Zusane saying that the school should be postponed till March 2024 to start which is 5 weeks delay from original plan with an excuse of the flood in hallowen and to avoid snow month. The delay of 5 weeks brought me a concern on my plan and i informed her that i would need to consult with my partner and i will give her a decision. Suzane offerred me a full refund if i cannot join the class as per the change 0n 8 Jan 2024, i gave her the final decision that i cannot join the class as per delay. Therefore i should get my refund as promise by her and as per the school cannot start as same as signed contract date. I was surprised by the answer of Suzane the owner of this school / spa, she does not want to return me because i withdraw from school and informed me that everything is still the same , same class, same teacher, same program only 5 weeks after and the enrollment 1,200 USD i signed is non-refundable. And she wants me to have lawyer to contact her and will refund only 3,883 USD (Tuition 3,999 USD - credit card fee 116 USD) she promised me to send this in check to my lawyer address. 10 days later. I followed up as per no check and no contact from her. Again i was insulted and informed that she will not send anything. On the same night, i contact my bank to dispute USD 3,999.- and this amount reversed to my account by bank of america. 2 days later, Suzane texted me and told me that her lawyer advised her to return to me by credit card which i found that it is not true, she contacted me because she got a warning notification from my bank instead. Since she had no intention to take any responsible on her fail of not being able to conduct the class on time and change the class period without my consent. She still not returns me the application fee 50 USD and enrollment 1,200 USD (Non refund) Further than that, i was her potential student in this school but with this situation. She defames me by calling me as prostitution and escort women from Thailand which i never believe that these kind of word came out from holistic place owner I have still been waiting for my refund 1,250 USD from her and with unprofessional, rude, lunatic tactics. I have reported this to A better business bureau of maine and Maine department of education. With a hope that other people / students will not be a victim and threatened like me

It made me calm just walking through the door. It is narrowish and we were pretty close in rows across - sometimes that happens. It was absolutely okay. There were plenty of props and mats available. The class was very good, and the instructor (again, calm and...) competent. We enjoyed it - from beginner to a little more familiar- none of us "experts" per se. One of the ladies did slip down a step, coming back from the bathroom. She wasn't hurt but apparently that one step is a little "off" for spacing and "that happened before". Not sure what might be done to help keep visitors and the business safe(r).
